NEWS FROM THE BGS

First off, I’m sorry for the lateness of this report. RL has been quite hectic of late, and there are also a number of projects going on that are taking up time. There’s lots to talk about this time around, so let’s get right to the good stuff.

First off, please join me in welcoming Major BubbaX to the Battlegroups! Bubba has given up his life of leisure on the Sov to take over from Badlands as the WC of Wing XI. Hopefully Mosh has his gundark at least semi-house broken by now…

Other good news: two of our COMs have been promoted. Indaro Gallia of the Colossus and Jahan Kalar of the Relentless are two of the finest COMs I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to promote them both to the rank of Vice Admiral.

Two Silver Stars were also recently awarded to Locke and Master of Wing X. Outstanding work, guys!

Due to the e-mail problems with ehnet.org, I’m still sorting out both the ‘of the Month’ awards and the banner entries for the competition. Sorry for the delay…winners will be announced soon.

And finally, I’d like to announce that we have an unofficial Battlegroups XO. Most of you know RA Autoris Maximus, a former RelCOM and general bot expert. He enjoyed his time with the BGs so much that he wanted to come back for more. After discussing it with Pri, Auto is now the BGXO. What does that mean to you? Well, Auto will be working with me to set up and judge comps (including MP stuff), assist me with projects when needed, and will be available to serve as an impartial judge for things like the ECR (yes…it’s coming soon to a Star Destroyer near you). The BGXO is NOT an official position, nor does it have command authority as such, but Auto does have my full support and confidence.

I decided to go this route with an XO because I didn’t think it was fair to load down one of our COMs with this stuff. Some people think that COM is a rest home…a comfy chair to warm on the way to an elite squadron or the RSVs. Well…I can tell you from personal experience that it isn’t. COM is a lot of work if you want to do it right, especially now that recruiting is so important and we’re looking at new ways of doing things. Adding XO responsibilities to that load wouldn’t be fair to anyone. If anyone has any questions, feel free to e-mail me at krax_tarnisar@yahoo.com or krax@ehnet.org.


STANDING ORDERS AND PROCEDURES

MSEs are closing in again, but it’s also time for submissions for the Commendation of Loyalty. The CoL is an award given to members of the EH who have shown tremendous dedication to the fleet. The procedure for submitting CoL recommendations is given below.

Each Squadron Commander can make recommendations to their Wing Commander who will choose three (3) members of their wing to receive the CoL and forward the names to their Commodore and Battlegroup Commodore. Each BGCOM may recommend up to three (3) more awards for their flag officers.

Get these reccs to your WCs soon, so they can forward them to the COMs and to me. OPS needs them by August 19, so I need them by August 13.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

In my last report I asked for some opinions as to why people don’t want to be CMDRs anymore. Either no one cares…or no one knows why. I’m still interested in your opinions as to why there are still CMDR openings and why so few people put in for them.
