TIE Corps Battlegroups Report # 9 (2001-09-24)

This report was submitted by VA Adrenaline

Greetings pilots and officers of the Battlegroups.. time for another
excellent report from the office of the BGCOM. Some overly due awards need
to be given out, and there's quite a bit of news and happenings around our 4
ships. Most importantly, the ECR IV's first phase (fiction) finished up
yesterday, with the second phase, mission design starting today. Results
have been posted from Imperial Storm II, and a new irc channel has been created
for us all to enjoy each others company in ;)

First off, I'm going to dish out the Battlegroups Monthly Awards for
August!! (slightly delayed - but still appreciated! ).

Pilot of the Month - CPT Avantar/Pi Squadron/ISD Colossus

Completing 64 BSF's for 325 missions among doing several IWATS courses, hes got to be one of the most active pilots onboard the Colossus. He shows a whole lot of initiative and a go get'um attitude. If most of the pilots onboard would do even half of what hes done then we would have a Wing to beat. He has shown us or the other pilots on what it takes to be a good officer and an above average pilot. I believe he will go far in the EH/TC. -- WC Major Absolut Vodka

Holy BSF's Batman! Great activity and dedication shown by Avantar in August, setting the tone for the rest of the ship ;) Keep up the excellent work Avantar!

Commander of the Month - CPT Werdna Elbee/Phantom Squadron/ISD Immortal

CPT Werdna is my greatest joy. He has managed to do what I never could as Phantom CMDR, get a full squadron. He has managed to extend the Phantom that was roughly passed down to him and rebuild it to twice it's strength. He is without a doubt one of the best officers I have had the pleasure of commanding with excellent reports, an ability to get the best out of his people and the greatly needed ability in this wing of mass recruitment. I hope Werd has an excellent time when he finally retires for life in University but he will be greatly missed by all in this wing. I also wish for this officer to be given the honour of BGCOM CMDR of the month for his dedicated service to Phantom, the Wing and to the fleet as a whole with his many projects. -- WC General Badlands

Werdna's enthusiasm and loyalty to his squad was evident every day in his emails, message board posts and irc visits. He will be missed as he has recently transferred off to do that 'learning' thing in university. The very least I could do , is award him Battlegroups Commander of the Month.. Wanda, if you're out there, congrats!

Squadron of the Month - Falcon Squadron/ISD Immortal

Falcon has managed to pull off a tight victory in the Immortal Ace Squadron comp. They were in the end the better side with 100% participation in the first round and a near loss of COM's own and a 9/10 participation in WC's own and a stronger lead winning both titles. Overall members have pulled off a fair run of activity this month and have provided members for MP events getting 2 of our CoLs and having a competiiton with their sister squadron in the IW..Black Squadron. --WC General Badlands

For as long as Darksaber has commanded Falcon, I've seen 100% participation in nearly every competition. Together these pilots work hard in everything they set out to do, and it's unity like this that deserves to be honored with Battlegroups Squadron of the Month. Keep it up Falconers .

ECR IV - the BeeGee Challenge

I have received all the ships submissions for the fiction phase of the ECR. At a glance, the submissions look great, the participation.. a little on the weak side :P Here is a preliminary report of the ships participation (ship totals based on available pilots -- may change due to invalid submissions) :

ISD Colossus 24/30 -- 80%
ISD Relentless 18/22 -- 82%
ISD Immortal 17/32 -- 53%
ISD Challenge 13/48 -- 27%

An officer outside of the Battlegroups has kindly agreed to assist me in
judging the fiction. Together we should be able to attain some final results from
the fiction phase fairly soon, and I can award some medals to the top 3
literary geniuses :)

A report will be out shortly announcing the details of round 2 - mission design!

#bg - New Battlegroups IRC channel.

I've decided that the pilots of the battlegroups need a channel that we can
all idle in together! Hosted by "Sooty" the Wyldefyre clone, and bar tab
sponsored by the BGCOM, stop by and have a visit the next time you're on
irc.

Imperial Storm Results - DOOM Ownz!!
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

From the desk of the FO FA Priyum Patel :
** Imperial Storm / War Officer **

The final Imperial Storm II results are out:

TF Doom - 1780 Victory Points
TF Silver Saber - 1345 Victory Points
TF Flaming Arrow - 1020 Victory Points

Congratulations to Vice Admiral Adrenaline and her team. Their strategy of
capturing planets early on seems to have paid off!

One thing that ImpStorm showed is that although it can be great fun for all
participants, it does require a tremendous amount of planning and on-going
work - particularly from whoever is running the game. Therefore, in
consultation with several members, a new position within the TIE Corps has
been created - War Officer (read FO report for more information). Congratulations go out to VA Pel who has recently been promoted to the new position of WO!

**Again, I would like to thank my TAC's , VA Mell, VA Oldham, COL Ricaud,
and COL Dras Hempor for helping to make our victory possible. COL Dan
Malkatos, LCM Deimos, LCM Hawk Hunter and CM Kodiak Kereban for their
piloting skills which made victories in the final battles of the exercise
possible. I am hoping that with the creation of the War Officer position
that we will see an Imperial Storm in the near future that is actually
carried out to its entirety.. cuz that was just getting fun! :P

Wing IX Commander

Since my last report, Wing IX has seen a new WC replacing the current COM's old position. Congratulations to COL Dan Malkatos! With this dynamic duo in charge of the Relentless.. there'll be no stopping them :-P

v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^

Congratulations to Fleet Admiral Priyum, who last week was awarded the
Grand Order of the Emperor (GoE ) medal for his hard work and dedication as
our Flight Officer! He has indeed put a great deal of time into this busy
position and has always been reliable, making him one of our best FO's yet
:)
