TIE Corps Battlegroups Report # 7 (2001-08-18)

This report was submitted by VA Adrenaline

Greetings members of the battlegroups,

I'm gonna try and make this a short report, due to some important business that's come up that I must focus my attention on. I won't bore you with any details (yet) so let's just get on with it :

Imperial Storm

Well, we've finally seen some action on the Imperial Storm front, having a couple of small confrontations with the Silver Saber Fleet. The battle at Kata was fought hard by LCM Hawk Hunter/Falcon Squadron/ISD Immortal. With his T/D , the SS Interdictor was easily blasted away, resulting in a victory for our team. A few sectors away (B6 on the ImpStorm map) another battle took place, involving the following pilots : CM Kodiak Kereban/Nu Squadron/ISD Colossus , LCM Deimos/Phantom Squadron/ISD Immortal and COL Dan Malkatos/Hammer Squadron/ISD Relentless . Against great odds, these fantastic Battlegroup pilots kicked some serious SS butt! If anyone is interested in viewing the skirmish files, let me know and I'll send them over. Below are the results from Wednesdays battles, and fyi the "x1" beside the ships means 1 squadron and any number in brackets is the number of ships left in the squadron.

Battlegroups Ace Pilot League

Round 4 will be a little strange, seeing as the Immortal Ace pilot has had to hold off for a week due to RL commitments, and the Relentless Ace, MAJ Da'emon Narshay has gone missing! ( I hope everything's allright ). Therefore , the only challenge this week has been on the Challenge, with CM Nathan Summers of Tornado Squadron threatening CM Sephiroth's title. They have decided on FREE-TIE 137 and have until next Saturday, August 25th to get their pilot files in to me adrenaline@tiecorps.org . Good luck pilots!! Round 5 will begin next weekend, and the Colossus title will then be up for challenging.

Mr. and Ms. EH 2001 - VA Mell and VA Adrenaline

Well, all the votes are in, and it looks like the Battlegroups OWNZ :P VA Mell, Commodore of the ISD Colossus was selected by the majority of us as Mr. EH. And it looks like you all don't actually mind me too much and the majority of votes make me Ms. EH! Thanks for your support everyone :) Now, I hear that Mr. and Ms. EH get free drinks in any cantina for the whole year! This means all ships should stock up.. I'll be coming for lots of visits :) Oh and for any squadron reopenings, I'll be there to cut the ribbon. Now.. what gown to choose for the Miss Universe pageant.. :P

Commendation of Loyalty

It's that time of year again, and as always, I'm the last to find out that these are due in to OPS by tomorrow :P Commendations of Loyalty are awarded to members of the fleet that showed a great deal of decidated towards their work. All TIE Corps Wings shall be allowed to award up to three (3) members from their Wing, and the Wing Commander shall forward it up to the chain of command, to their Commodore, then Battlegroup Commander (in the case of the Sovereign and the Avenger, just to the Commodore). Finally, the BGCOM's, Sovereign and Avenger Commodores should also send their recomendations to the Flight Officer, for a final check-over. Commodores, please get on top of this and have your recommendations in to me as soon as you possibly can muster up the energy to hit that send button!

Battlegroups Monthly Awards for July 2001

From the month of July, I am proud to honor the following top officers of the Battlegroups :

Pilot of the Month : FL/LCM Steve Sunrider/Hammer Squadron/ISD Relentless

For the second month in a row, it's my pleasure to award Sunny with the honor of being the battlegroups pilot of the month. Not only does he have a solid presence in both XvT and XWA multiplayer competitions, but he has been flying enough singleplayer missions and battles to account for 16.5% of the entire ships solo flying activity. Not to mention his outstanding loyalty to his squadron and his ship, he is kept busy creating about 8 different uniforms, keeps his commander informed with weekly XO reports, and has successfully recruited several cadets to join Hammer Squadron. His activity once again is exemplary and we should all be proud to have such a fine officer amongst us in the Battlegroups. Congrats again Steve :)

Commander of the Month : LC Ted of Sword Squadron , ISD Relentless

Well, well if it isn’t the most senior CMDR of the lot, LC Ted. He feels he’s had an average month. Ok well that’s his opinion. Let me explain. Coming in dead last in last June’s WC’s own competition was replaced with this month’s WIN. SWORD squadron dominated the competition winning by sheer pilot skill using a method they used time and time again: TEAMWORK. This attribute is only evident when it’s taught and honed and perfected by the leader of any group. The leader of SWORD squadron is clearly and unmistakably LC Ted. SWORD Squadron is a team, and Ted is part of that winning team. - LC Lohr, Wing IX Commander

Squadron of the Month : Tempest Squadron , ISD Challenge

Tempest's commander, MAJ Locke sums up his squadrons activity for us : Well, we're not all superstars, we're not crazy flyers, but more than anything we have squadron unity, more than anyone in the fleet. We always have 100% in comps(and we have a *lot* of comps, in 4 months we've had 12 comps, I think half of which were battles :P) and we always give it our all, which is something NO ONE else can compare to. From me : The Tempest crew shows a solid effort in everything they do, and all squadrons should look to these guys as an example of what teamwork is all about. Looking over all the MSE's this squadron was one of the few that had no pilots listed with *no activity*. Each pilot works hard to make this squadron so great! Congrats to them for also winning the Wing X League with maximum points.

* is this report long enough yet? mmm ya.. more to come later ..
