Aggressor Strike Force Report # 29 (2000-12-31)

This report was submitted by AD Priyum Patel

Greetings all!

Something I'm sure you've all been waiting for - the final ASF Supremacy II Results and awards! BUT - I'll do those at the end, after the rest of this week's report...

...Yes, this is the last report of the year, and if you want to be technical, the last of the Millenium! Personally, I think its been a fantastic year for the ASF, with numerous changes and events that have made....blast it...you've skipped to the bottom already haven't you!? :P

/me grumbles about the impatient youth of today...:P

Anyway...for those of you still with me...

ASF News:

- Obviously, after a long month, the SCII has finally come the a close. I think its been a success for all participants. Although its been tough work to run, I only hope its been as much fun for you as it has been for me.
Many thanks to the Flag Officers for the invaluable help they provided me in running the competition. Most of all, thanks to you all for taking part!

- As I mentioned in my last update, I'm still looking for information about the ASF and its history - In particular, I'm looking for dates of some of the earlier Flag Officer appointments, both to the ASF and the AW (Aggressor Wing).
I'm also still looking for a couple of people to help me go through the old Newsletters. To those of you that have offered to help: Thanks - I'll be contacting shortly with more information.
Incase you're unsure about what sort of information I'm looking for, all the information I have so far has been uploaded to http://www.emperorshammer.ca/asf/about.html - so please be sure to check it out.

- The Commendation of Loyalty nominations have all been collected and sent off to the OPS Officer. They should be announced in roughly the second week of the new year.

- Its the end of the month, and yes, you know what that means! MSE time! Get them in to your WCs pronto! You lucky CMDRs you :P

- A reminder that tc.org now hosts a Fiction Compendium. Its located at http://www.tiecorps.org/fiction/ and you can submit your work there. I received a staggering amount of fiction for the SCII, and it'd be great to see these submitted to the Compendium.
On a related note - I've kept all the submissions I received for the SC, so hopefully I'll upload as much of it as I can pretty soon for all to see.

- The ASF roster number is currently steady at 128 - with the start of the new year, I'd like to see an increase in recruitment efforts...can we reach 140 by the end of January? Remember - the only realistic way you'll get a Cadet to join your Squadron is if you contact them. The PLT Daedalus roster is organised so that its easier for you to work out who to contact and who not to. Simply email one or two...offer help with their training, tell what its like to be in the TC and your Squadron.
Hint: Don't bother emailing Cadets in Alpha or Echo Companies. Note: This isn't an invitation to suddenly spam 50 odd Cadets with "Join my Squadron or go to Hell!" emails :P

Fleet News:

- LC Tiberius is stepping down as the Proffessor of the TIE Tactics Course, and the TO Office is looking for a replacement. If you're interested in running the Course, then email LC Tiberius (lpoole@magma.ca) and TO/HA Astatine (to@emperorshammer.org).

- Thanks to LA/RA Quake and the Advanced Guard, the RS and EH are once again allies. How does this effect us? Well...it means that we can once again take part in the Outer Rim melee nights with take place on Saturdays in #OuterRim. For all the information, please go to http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/outerrim/

- FA Striker has returned from his brief sojourn, but has announced that due to RL responsibilities, he is resigning as the Tactical Officer. FC/GA Ronin will be picking a suitable replacement shortly.

- Newsletter #70 submissions are due! You can basically submit any thing to the NL: graphics, INPRs, fiction etc. You can send your subs to XO/SA Compton at lovewilkil@aol.com - Make sure they're in by the 3rd!

- The Science Officer, Admiral Kermee, is looking for people with XWA and high-spec computers to take screen shots of all the craft from the game. He's also looking for a couple of people who can do 3D rendering to help him with a project. If you're interested in either tasks, then you can email him at Kermee@softhome.net

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok...and now for the bit to which you've all skipped...the Supremacy II results!! So, without further ado...

Ships:

ISD Grey Wolf - 8943
ISD Vanguard - 1902
ISD Intrepid - 971

As you can see, the Grey Wolf won by a massive gap, and retains its title as Flagship of the Aggressor Strike Force. Many congratulations to the GW and her crew.

Squadrons:

Tartarus - 2251
Crusader - 2042
Vortex - 1754

Congratulations to the pilots of Tartarus Squadron, who held onto the lead for a significant amount of the competition. They now hold the title of Escort Squadron fo the Aggressor Strike Force. Of course, congratulations are due to all Squadrons in the top 3. Special mention to Avenger Squadron, who came 4th with 1458 points, despite the fact that they had only 6 pilots for the majority of the competition.

And finally...

Pilots:

CPT Raven Arestar - 1050
CPT Brucmack - 886
LT Mace - 491
CM Khadgar - 463
LC DS-61-4 - 417

A brilliant show of activity in the individual race. Congrats to CPT Arestar who came first by over 150 points. That said, both Raven and Brucmack amassed a fantastic amount of points, leaving the rest far behind.
If you did set yourselves a goal, and achieved it - then in a sense, you're the winners! Congratulations!!

Ok, and now for the fun part...the awards:

Before I list them, a brief explanation of how I've decided to award them.

1st: Silver Star
2nd: Bronze Star
3rd: Bronze Star

300+ points: Bronze Star
200+ points: Palpatine's Crescent
100+ points: Imperial Security Medal

Participant Member of the Winning Squadron (Tartarus): Palpatine's Crescent
Participant Member of the Highest Scoring Squadron on the Vanguard (Echo) & Intrepid (Krayt): Imperial Security Medal.
Participant Member of 2nd highest Scoring Squadron (Crusader): Imperial Security Medal
Participant Member of 3rd highest Scoring Squadron (Vortex): Imperial Security Medal

In some cases, this may mean that you may qualify for more than medal (for example, by achieving 150 points and being a member of Tartarus). HOWEVER, you won't get both medals, only the highest of the two (in the above example, the individual would be awarded a PC). If you're wondering about the reason behind this - a significant part of it is due to the recent discussions behind the recent so called "devaluing" of certain medals - and in one way or another, I don't want to contribute towards this.

Regardless...a total of 54 medals will be awarded, which is almost to half of the entire ASF. When you consider that these are all going to different pilots, this is a fantastic achievement!

*drumroll*....
