ATF News

-FO Resigns-
'tis a sad day today, as HA Priyum Patel has announced his retirement as Flight Officer of the Emperor's Hammer. Priyum has been FO for well over two years now, and was a stable, guiding presence for the TIE Corps. I am sorry to see him go, and I hope that his replacement will be able to continue with the high standard that Priyum set for the Flight Office.

-OPS Goes Medal-nuts™!-
The new Operators Officer (RA Alex Foley) cleared out the backlog of over 400 medal recommendations today. Many ATFers profited from this wave of medals, with a respectable 63 medals ATF-wide. Most of these were Iron Stars for various competitions, and other nice rewards like CoBs and MoIs, but a few really stood out. Congratulations to MAJ Xander Drax and RA Davi Anthol on their Silver Stars, and MAJ Jaron Kai on her Bronze Star.

-MSE Medals-
Now that the OPS is back in town, and has pledged to set up some clear guidelines on what is good medal recommendation procedure, I will be endeavouring to ensure that all pilots and officers of the Avenger Task Force are duly recognised with medals for their activity. I'll be getting touch with the COMs and WCs soon to start some basic discussion on how ATF pilots will be rewarded.

-Operation Phalanx-
Apparently, the participation in Operation Phalanx has been less than desirable. MAJ Xander Drax has put a lot of work into this comp, please don't let it go to waste through your indifference.

The creative topics this month are:

Fiction - "Busted!"
Write about a time when you were caught in the act doing something you shouldn't have been doing by a superior officer such as your Commodore or Battlegroup Commander. Keep in mind that the EH is a family group, but of course remember that what you only hint at can't get you into trouble :P

Graphics - "Mockery"
Take another ATF squadron's banner and modify it to light-heartedly mock that squadron, or create one from scratch to the same effect. No personal attacks, just puns and other tomfoolery.

All submissions are due in by 11:59 PM EST on September 30th.
