TIE Corps Battlegroups Report...

Greeting readers, It's been TOO LONG since I've written one of these. for that I must apologise. shouldn't happen again.

BG News

My god where do we start? there's been so much happened recently and with my 2 computer failures I don't really know where to begin...

ISD Immortal Closed, reopened when database was lost and then closed again. We have plans for the immortal in the future but this relies on a LOT of heavy RECRUITING!

TC Database loss meant that we reset everything back to January 2004. major pain but well done to all my flags who helped us to get through this time and get everything back up to date IF YOU STILL HAVE MISSING MEDALS OR MISSING BSF'S THEN NOTIFY ME IMMEDIATELY

The major overhaul of the TCBG's began with a severe flag shuffle which saw the removal of RA Phantom and MAJ Kit from the challenge. reasons behind this was due to the required working environment between flags and CMDR's was not there. in came RA Locke and COL Sephiroth, however Sephiroth felt it was not working for him either and resigned which allowed for Challenge legend COL Triji Boliv (know known as Bill Kelso) to take the reigns. I expect to see great things from the Challenge in the future... Colossus saw the introduction of RA Gunman and MAJ Angel to command. They now sit at the top of the BG numbers wise though some sterling recruiting, notable mention to MAJ Curtis of Eta squadron. I believe his tally is 7 recruits. damn fine work, an example to you all :) ISD Relentless has BubbaX still working away (when not on leave :P) and shifting a WC a month, til now. MAJ Thorin Oakenshield has come in and whipped up a storm of activity and efficiency. excellent job keep this up!

The Website...

As you should all know we have run a major project for the BG website. mucho thanks to MAJ Thorin Oakenshield and also to Rebcrush who coded the backend of the site. "The TIE Corps Battlegroup Network is an integrated system second to none in the Emperor's Hammer, and should set an example for sites to come in the future. It completely complies with the TC and IO site guidelines, and uses the ELS Login system. Through database integration, the roster on site is updated directly from the TIE Corps site, thus allowing us the most up to date roster possible. After this roster is in our system, we use ELS to automatically give people access according to their positions, meaning no admin updating on the backend. Through this, CMDR's, WC's, and COM's have the ability to post relevant news, reports and competitions to their areas of the network. This integration among the sites provides a "one stop shop" for the pilots of the Battlegroup, putting a multitude of information into a single source in a way that has not been done before. This makes it very easy for our pilots to find information pertaining to them, be it a competition they can participate in, or a report from a CMDR with important information. This site makes it possible for the first time for a pilot to see all of the competitions he can participate in in a single location, he no longer has to search through old reports or the competitions system to find competitions that apply to him. With centralized news and reports, this only increases the usefulness of the site. Other items being implemented at the present include an automated MSE Generator for CMDR's, an automated transfer system for pilots of the Battlegroups, and several other ideas. If you are seeking more information on the TCBG Network, a "README" of sorts will be available shortly on the site. We also offer full email services, mailing lists, etc. The network is ever growing to our needs."

Medals in the post to you two for sterling work to get this up and running in 2 weeks!! the sites:

BG Awards For June 2004

Squadron of the Month: Iota Squadron (ISD Colossus)  Iota squadron has always been the rock of the Colossus from times when I was their Wing Commander. Under their various CMDR's they have always functioned well as a unit showing true team spirit whilst having fun at the same time. Under the skilful eye of veteran CMDR Kayle Bayron they are enjoying a good time once again. maintain the good work all and the chalquila's on me!

Pilot of the Month – LCM Ice (Thunder, ISD Challenge) it's no surprise to see Ice once again winning the BGCOM's Pilot of the Month award. whatever this guy is on, I want dishing out to all pilots! once again my BSF's folder is screaming LCM Ice. MB activity as always and now IRC activity on top this (after I ordered him to start using it :P) Ice keep up the good work :D

Squadron Commander of the Month: CPT La'an (Crossbow, ISD relentless)

CPT La'an shows great potential. there can be no doubt about that. Crossbow is doing great under his command. his assistance to the WC has been invaluable recently when Thorin was relocated to Germany and La'an filled the role of WC in his absence. it is great to see that we still have natural leaders flowing from the pilots upwards. keep up the great activity!

Congratulations to all!
