| Battlegroup Commander's Prologue | ||

Greetings pilots, As most of you read in my email already the "SSSD Sovereign vs. ATF" competition ended in a draw. I am very happy with the amount of participation especially as there have been many participants from the ATF and no only the usual 3-4 top participating pilots. Great work so far and let's see that we win the next challenge against the Sov. Medals have been awarded today. Pilots, it is important that you keep communication to your Squadron Commanders. It is fine to go on Leave of Absence (LoA) as all of us do but please tell your superiours so that you don't get AWOLed while you are somewhere sitting in the sun and relaxing. It has been a news ever since I began writing BG COM Reports - the battlegroup and most squadrons are in urgent need of pilots ! Therefore please ask friends in Real-Life, post on starwars-related Messageboards, contact other players you meet in non-TIECorps Multiplayer games (e.g. SWG) and try to fill up your squadron with new pilots. If all of us stand together we can soon fill the open spots. |

Email your BG COM at tk2107@tiecorps.org Assisting fellow comrades by Xanatos Screed As Lieutenant Colonel Xanatos Screed marched through the corridors of the SSD Avenger suddenly the alert lights and the emergency belt switched on. Just as if it was a reflex he ran direction hangar section 1a, where Fury Squadron had its destination. 'You are late Xanny!' his Squadron Commander LC Mousedroid called, while all other pilots arrived. In fact Xanatos had been second, right after his commander. 'People, Aurora is under attack. Right now we hyper into their direction and we will be there in about fifteen minutes.My datapad tells that we are attached to the assault group that will assist the Sovereign. Make your fighters ready. We have permission to start as soon as we have reached Aurora,' Mousedroid said. While the other pilots turned to their ships he signaled Xanatos to wait a second. 'Xan, you are Sith Warrior and also attached to a Dark Brotherhood Battleteam. Actually we will work together with Nightshade Squadron, so we have one pilot split into two. So here's my idea: We are seven pilots in Fury that means we have one pilot to fly alone. That will be you, as you are one of my best men. You'll play the link between Nightshade and us. We will work together to inforce our strengh as good as possible, ok ?' Xanatos nodded. He was no man of many words, but he understood very well that he had to do important work between the units. Connected to the force the Sith Squadrons were more effective than other teams within the fleet as they talked to each other with their minds. Xanatos now had to read Mousedroid's mind and send his ideas to his Teamleader, and the other way round, too. Sitting in his Tie Advanced and making it ready for the battle, Xanatos felt absolutely calm. He never felt nervous, nor was afraid of confrontations. In fact he loved them. But eventhough he was relaxed, his spirit, his nerves and his entire body began to fix on the upcoming battle. The outcome of the day would also be decisive for the rest of his life. Of course, the battle would end up in a bloodshed, for the Siths and the pilots of Avenger only felt scorn for the Rebels. A few weeks before Rebel units had launched an abduction mission to kidnap the Battle Group Commander of the Avenger Taskforce. This mission had been successful, because Admiral TK-2107 fought alone against two squadrons. Fury Squadron and Butcher Squadron, who were on patrol duty had come too late to save their superior officer; they only were able to destroy a backup shuttle, but the BGCOM had disappeared… Xanatos attention suddenly drew back to his mission as the mothership left hyperspace. In front of his cockpit the fighters of the other pilots lifted and sped out of the hangar. Xanatos also activated hubgenerators and his engines and rushed for space. Following his teammates to the waypoint where they had to wait for the other squadrons Xanatos could see the battle. The Superstardestroyer had left hyperspace at the very edge of the scramble and after mere seconds had started firing at Rebel capital ships with its heavy turbolasers. Some small corvettes burst to fire as soon as imperial gunners set their crosshairs on them. The Rebel taskforce was huge, of course, but the Emperor's Hammer's ships were still superior in quantity and firepower. There were some corvettes, one or two carriers, but Xanatos' main attention was focused on five Mon Calmari Cruisers of the newest construction style and the Imperial Stardestroyer Mark II which certainly was the leading starship and had surely been captured by the Rebel scum. 'Attention Fury! Three Squadrons heading towards us. It's Trapper, Butcher and Nightshade!' Mousedroid switched his radio to another channel, greeting the other Squadron Leaders: 'Good morning folks. We are to assist the Sovereign Squadrons. They defend their mothership and Aurora Prime. We will be the spearhead so that the Avenger can follow us. My best pilot will be the link between you all. He is strong with the force and can coordinate our actions. Consider him as Groupleader until we have reached the Sovereign.' The other command officers copied Mousedroid's orders and he switched back to the Squadron's channel saying that Xanatos would take the lead to the Sovereign. Mousedroid's plans were that Fury and Nightshade would work together when arriving at the Fleet's flagship. The other squadrons had full capability so they could work for themselves. He fully trusted Xanatos and he knew that eventhough he had a raging spirit, he could always lean on him when things went for no good. In the meantime Xanatos ignited his engines, accelerated and headed for the coordinates he was given by his computer.The gauntlet in front of him was fierce, but he felt that it was rather easy to get through it. Too easy for Fury, too easy for a Sith like him and too easy for a raging spirit. Xanatos' mind went into the deadly meditation he always went through when fighting. He felt the anger coming up. His family that had been traited by the Rebels, his mom and dad that had to die because they were flying their luxury yacht away from a battlefield and his friends and comrades that had been killed by cowardish Rebels. The hatred that filled his heart seemed also to operate the trigger of his laser cannons as he killed Rebel lifes with deadliest efficiency. It was the style of a Sith Warrior like him to be as fierce as possible and his teammembers of Nightshade and the 'normal' pilots joined along as if they were all connected by one spirit. The group ploughed through rebel lines like a dagger through butter and soon reached one of Sovereign's escort ships, the VSD Sinister. She was taken under fire by various gunboats and needed assistance very quickly. Although not ordered by Mousedroid Xanatos turned to starboard, all starfighters of his group following without any comment… Next part follows in a week |
