Congratulations to CM Lito Rendal for becoming the Immortals new BGAPL Champ by defeating COL Mell at FREE-XWA 13! (i forgot about this, my bad!!!)

The honor list is filling up with now 3 members holding the Golden Batallion! Want to see your name in 'lights'? .. fly all XWA battles and free missions (including the IW ones).. check out the site http://immortal.stardestroyer.org/honor.html

Tribe Wars is over tomorrow! Fly Yellow Tribe's mission- Chiefs are to report to me tomorrow night with scores and pilot files compiled. Good luck everyone, and remember, winning tribe each gets a PC! more details.. are on the site.. http://immortal.stardestroyer.org/tribe.html

LC Badlands has returned his 2 week leave. Welcome back Colonel, hey, nice tan! -- you must've had a good time :) Thanks to CM Spearhawk for going above and beyond the call of duty as Phantom's Acting Commander while Badlands was on leave.

I urge all of you to please reply to the TO's comunique that asked anyone that wants to see TO5 restarted! The High Admiral Mr. Astatine will not run it unless he sees a stronger response.. so far. .not that good. I've attached the email. These comps are great for individual pilots as well as squadrons to prove themselves to the entire TC, as was proven by Falcon Squadron in TO 4! Lots of great medals and an excellent battle to play (made by our very own COL Dras Hempor - XWA 9).

As my personal Escort Squadron of the month, I have sent Ranger Squadron out on a little recon mission for me to a remote system where there is rumor of great snowfall and giant peaks. They are to go investigate and report any rebel activity in the area. Once the area is secured, I will be commencing my Winterfest activities :) More details will be released once Ranger has reported back.

CMDR Sanj of Falcon Squadron is making some nice progress with the Falcon site and has been spending a lot of time learning php. Check out what he's made so that the pilots can upload their pilot files directly to him via the site. Great Work Sanj! http://falcon.squadron.org/php/bsf.php.

CM Roth has written a nice piece of fiction here. If everyone didn't receive a copy via email, be sure to check out this attachment for some entertaining reading. While I'm on this topic, I would like to remind anyone that has fiction or graphics that they would like to see published in the next Battlecry issue, to email their submissions to CPT Werdna Elbee werdna_elbee@ehnet.org
http://battlecry.ehnet.org/battlecry.html go here -- "battlecry newsletter", "how to submit work". I know a lot of you have some great talents to show off. .so get your submissions in.

News from the ISD Colossus, Submitted by Vice Admiral Ari (11/12/00):

It's been a pretty good week, flying is up which is nice to see. We've got a few more days left to fly the Colossus vs. Avenger comp (TC-TIE 138), and then we'll see who will be the victor. CPT Jay Urick of Pi has AWOLed out and CM Kromtal Stormfyld of Omicron has resigned, leading to a search for new CMDRs. I'd like to congratulate Owen Nivarian on Pi CMDR and Devin McCloud on Omicron CMDR! The Colossus Recruiting Office is going steady, with LCM Dall Star leading it. In the COM's office, things have been quite busy with a top secret project undergoing construction. This project promises to be a dynamically new and exciting thing. Project Advisor CPT Drake and myself have been working hard on it and we have announced a release date of November 19th. That's one week folks...guess you'll just have to wait a bit!

News from the Reletnelss, Submitted by Colonel Val Ricaud:

1. OLDIES VERSUS NEWBIES
The Relentless Staff of '99 vs. Relentless Staff of 2000 got underway this week, albeit after a brief false start involving a buggy first selection of mission (FREE-TIE#130) which required a switch to something which would actually work on people's computers
(FREE-TIE #104). The competition sees six CMDRs+ from the 1999 crew of the ISD Relentless going up against our current staff, plus BGCOM/VA Jarak Maldon to help make up numbers (I feel obliged to fly with the old guys :P). Feel free to get behind either set of staff and show your support at http://relentless.stardestroyer.org/cgi-bin/board/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=10
.
2. SSS WITHDRAWAL
You have all already been e-mailed on this matter, and there is currently a topic running on the ISD Relentless Message Board for any discussion or comments. I'm pleased to see that everybody has gotten behind the decision to take Wing IX out of the Supreme Squadron Series (though in some cases a little understandably grudgingly :P). CMDR/CM Ted settled the matter best when he reminded everybody of our motto: "Stength in Unity". We have one of the closest wing communities in the TIE Corps, and I don't think anybody here is willing to sacrifice that sense of closeness and camaraderie by driving a vicious competetive wedge between squadrons just because people like LC Ace Pilot want their contests to be a bloody, exciting affair of rivalry, rather than a show of co-operation and unity. The forum for discussion is still up at
http://relentless.stardestroyer.org/cgi-bin/board/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=13

3. RELENTLESS BOARDS UPDATE
The new ISD Relentless Message Board (http://relentless.stardestroyer.org/cgi-bin/board/ikonboard.cgi) has proven to be a stunning success, simply going from success to startling success over the course of the last week. The Board is now at a total of 354 posts, which beats any other ship or wing board in the Battlegroups. All of our squadrons (Sword, Dagger, Spear, and Shield) now have their own boards, with 33 people signed up for Message Board membership (more people than we actually have in the
wing!), and more external involvement has been brought on-board, with the hosting of boards for parts of the Hammer's Fist now in place. Who said these new boards would be out-of-the-way and attract nobody else's attention? :P

4. BATTLEGROUPS MUD
Work is proceeding apace on the TC Battlegroups MUD, with the ISD Relentless leading from the front under the supervision of Captain Dan Malaktos. For those of you who still don't know what a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon), it's essentially an on-line roleplaying game which is text-based. Think of the old "Zork" adventure games, add proper stats, interactive locations, decent NPCs (Non-Player Characters), dynamic plotlines, and several dozen players, put it on the Internet to play, and hey-presto, you've got yourself a MUD. The Battlegroups MUD will (we hope) allow players to roam at will not only around the Star Destroyers of the TIE Corps Battlegroups, but also provide an immersive roleplaying environment in which ships and starfighters can be flown and piloted, battles fought, and drinks imbibed at various cantinas. :P If you'd like to help out in any way, simply contact cloud88ff7@aol.com.

News from the ISD Challenge, Submitted by Colonel Darklord:

Colonel Darklord will be on leave until Monday... go away!!!

Current Orders:

Stay up in activity, and recruit! We have a bit of a shore-out in munbers so it may help to brush them up abit. This section is a bit thin this week, I'm a bit pressed for time tonite :) Oh yes, try out the MUD and give sugestions and coments before we EH-ize it. I hope you are awaiting the new Battlegroups Story-Driven comp, coming hopefully around Thanksgiving... maybe. Until next week, good luck!
