Battlegroups Weekly Report #4

Greetings members of the TC Battlegroups!

Aurora News Network-
Greetings from Aurora Prime! Today makrs the fifteenth week of the campaign for a new minister of state here in the Aurora Sector. The position is purely title-only, expecially with the Dictorate in control, but the people still love it. Currently the Imperialist Canidate is in the lead, up ten points. Hopes are looking bright for the Imperial Party of Aurora!
In other, less important news, sights and sounds from the Outer Rim incidates large Imperial Fleet build-up for reasons unknown. Command has recieved orders, from whom unknown, to start training operations among the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. Vice Admiral Jarak Maldon, commander of the TIE Corps Battlegroups, with the Agressor Strike Force the main attack platform of the EH, spoke today that he has "plans" on how to deal with the new legislation. "Well don't ask! I'm not telling yet, it is totally under wraps until I finilize plans! Get that holo-recorder out of my face!"
More on this story as it develops... we hope!

Battlegroup News and Updates:

Battlegroup Website Official:
Currently, thanks to Commander Quake, we have a new BG Webiste! Take a look at the new BG website at: http://battlegroups.ehnet.org Send any comments to myself (jarak@stny.rr.com) and Commander Quake (guyquake@btinternet.com). Expect to see many updates and some more advanced fetures in the near future.

Help From Historians:
The Battelgroup Commander is searching for historical information reguarding the Battlegroups. Anyone with anything... including old reports, ship histories, records of past COMs and WCs, a complete listing of old Battlegroup Awards, or any other information you feel is important should submit to the Battlegroup Commander for possible reward. That's right, reward!!! :)

Truth about Tornado:
Recently there has been quite a bit of bad rap going on concerning Tornado Squadron. Well they are just going around on a merry little challenge streak, nohting more. They aren't trying to beat up little squads or eat babies or anything like that. If Uncle Kessler wants a challenge you can always say no, but it is good sport none the less. I like to see squadron-squadron comps, it is fun and usually boosts morale a bit. Kessler is just leading it by example... a really big chunk of example. If he or any of his punks give you trouble just ruff them up a bit or shoot at their kneecaps :P

Colonel Darklord named Battlegroup Communications Officer:
Thanks to his wonderfull work by creating the Battlegroup CommBot and wonderfull mascot, WyldeFyre, Colonel Darklord the Technically Sound of the Challenge is named Battelgroups Communications Offier. Of course it is unofficial, but you need someone new to yell at besides just Ari and myself. With this the allotment of credits and intoxicating materials to the Challenge has been up-staged. Any comments/complaints/bot sugestions should be directed to Darklord now.

News from the Colossus, Submitted by Vice Admiral Ari:
Well, everything is getting settled in now. The new WC is MAJ Chei-Ras, and Nu Squadron has been merged into Pi, whose new CMDR is CPT Jay Urick. We're finishing up our competition with the Challenge. Activity is pretty good, with CPT Troutrooper in the lead with around 60 BSFs this month. Iota Squadron is getting ready to take on Tornado Squadron, the very incarnates of Satan himself. Omicron Squadron has also challenged these hellrazers for a competition in three weeks. Best of luck to them! Other than that, it's been a pretty good week

News from the Reletnelss, Submitted by Colonel Val Ricaud:
Careful, a bit long this one is!

A big congratulations to Dagger Squadron on a very convincing victory, and to Commander Malaktos and
his boys goes the title of Wing Commander's Own for October 2000 (plus shiny Imperial Security
Medals for all participating Dagger pilots who helped their squadron to victory). Congratulations
also to Lieutenant Bart, who will receive a Palpatine Crescent for simply blowing away in the rest
of the wing for scores.

2. NEW SWORD COMMANDER
Sadly, Captain Fortis was forced to retire to the Reserves almost as quickly as he was appointed
Sword Squadron Commander, due to RL concerns. The vacant position was quickly filled by Lieutenant
Commander Ted, who has been the leading officer in Sword for activity and involvement for some time
now, and a natural choice for the post. Congratulations and good luck to Ted!

3. ACTIVITY CRACKDOWN
As a result of Wing Commander's Own, I will be coming down hard on inactive officers in the next
couple of weeks. Wing IX will not tolerate inactivity of any sort without very good reason, and
will always value quality over quantity ... meaning that I'm absolutely willing to sacrifice
membership numbers to achieve a 100% activity rate. As proof of this, CMDR/CM Dawn Nar'Shalla is to
be demoted to Flight Member, for failure to submit reports for Supreme Squadron Series trivia and
Wing Commander's Own, and as such openly challenging the basic requirements and duties of the
Squadron Commander position (this makes the Shield CMDR position open to applications pending Flight
Officer approval, all applications go to val.ricaud@btinternet.com and mad_dog_mcd@btinternet.com).
COM/RA Andronicus and myself will NOT tolerate flagrant inactivity. You have been warned.

4. SUPREME SQUADRON SERIES
The trivia section of the TIE Corps-wide squadron competition ended on Tuesday, and all squadrons
performed extremely well (with the exception of Shield, whose CMDR submitted no trivia). Special
mention must go to Spear Squadron, who were not only able to answer nearly every question (hopefully
correctly :P), but whose officers went above and beyond the call of duty by actually helping out
other squadrons with their submissions (LT Tack, stand and take a bow, if you please). I'm very
proud to have seen such heartening levels of co-operation on the trivia, and can only encourage you
to keep this excellent attitude and work going.

5. UNIFORMS (AGAIN?)
With the new database feature by SA Kawolski, there's been an explosion of interest in people
wanting uniforms to be able to upload to their profiles. In order to determine who will be the
Relentless' unofficial "Ship's Tailor", COM/RA Andronicus is running a uniform-related competition
for all officers. All those who enter must create a full-length dress uniform and duty uniform for
Andronicus, and then a uniform for any Command Staff member. All entires must be sent in to
mad_dog_mcd@btinternet.com by 28th October (next Saturday). The winner will become Ship's Tailor,
and might (MIGHT ... Andy is being purposefully vague here :P) get an ISM into the bargain.

News from the ISD Challenge, Submitted by Colonel Darklord:

CPT Vexan on Medical Leave
CPT Vexan has taken extended medical leave after she was taken ill in RL last weekend. She has a place as a FM when she is fit enough to resume duties. I shall be appointing the new Cyclone CMDR very shortly. Applications are NOT being taken!
Tornado Squadron vs....
By the narrowest of margins (around 2000 points) Tornado has been defeated by Iota squadron. It was a very close run battle. All is not lost, however, moral still runs high, and Tornado take on their next opponent this week... our very own Inferno squadron! Best of luck to both sides! (I hope I got this right this time...)
Typhoon CMDR back from leave
COL Callista has returned from leave. Welcome back Callimouse!! :-)
Supreme Squadron Series
Phase 2 has been over for a week now. Results and Phase 3 are still to be announced...
ISD Challenge vs ISD Colossus
This competition is now over and we await results
And finally...
It had to make the wing report somewhere but yours truly has been promoted to the rank of Colonel! YAAY!

Current Orders:

Commanders, Wing Commanders, Commodores- That time of month again! This weekend is when all those happy Monthy Evaluations are due. Flight Memebers who don't know about it... well, extra work that your CMDRs do as Imperial Officers to make sure each and every one of you is doing your very best to kill all traces of Resistance in the fair Aurora Sector.
So don't forget that by next Sunday all evaluations, inculding ones by COMs and WCs, are do, as are the recommendations for the BGCOM's Awards. Choose carefully >:)
Again keep on IRC, post on message boards, fly lots and lots of battles. It is good if you want to turn God-Mode on and fly about twenty battles a night... really good for boosting that low FCHG score or something to do while your not watching the World Series or the WWF or something.
Competition? Oh yes... big one. Still secret, quiet, and very very coming soon!

Quote of the Week:
"Finally, I'm not outranked by my own CMDRs!" -Colonel Darklord
