SOVCOM/VA Stele Pellaeon reporting in for SSSD Sovereign 10.27.04 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Inanimate objects and sentient beings obey the laws of nature. Without discrimination, environment is their only conscience."---Vedran Inscription Departure Slates 005 AT9 Ship Orders -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mandatory Ship Orders: Battle of the Month: -TIETC-220 -XvTTC-100 -XWATC-37 Due: November 30th Ship News -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New SovCOM of the ship: That would be me, if you havn't guessed yet. With AD Proton departing and doing the best service this ship has ever seen, he and the FO agreed on a new SovCOM, Stele Pellaeon. I'll give you a brief background about me if you care to listen. I don't mean to bore you or brag or anything, its just I want you all to get a better understanding of who your new SovCOM is. Well I first joined up just like most of you pilots here. I found the EH/TC simply by chance because I loved Tie Fighter and I just knew there had to be some clubs out there, so I did some searching. Eventually I found the EH/TC and joined up. Training was quick, as I had already beaten all the battles, training missions, etc, and I was contacted by Sin Squadron to join up (Recruiting was legal back then). I eventually rose up to be CMDR for Sin due to activity. I served under the great Inkwolf and Ford. Eventually when Ford stepped down he suggested I go for the spot of Wing II WC. Being WC has been my greatest joy so far as I got to start up a lot of fun competitions such as the Summer Patrol, wargames, etc. I've got one space babe you may know. She lives in outerspace most of the time and she doesn't yet know that she's my girl friend =P Her name is Trance Gemini and I only really like the Purple Trance! Hmmm, Trance... ^_^ When Proton resigned recently I was shocked. I really didn't expect him to leave. I will try my hardest to be half the guy he was but I'll need everyone's help and participation in this ship. I'd like to take the oppurtunity in this ship report to lay out some guidelines that I believe will work in running this ship effeciently. Battle of the Month: Battle of the Month competition has started up again. This has been a fairly traditional competition, which I hope to keep going all the time unless major ship competitions may interfere with it. I've given the new BotM ship orders up above. Results will show for individuals, flights, squadrons, and wings. So fly high! Sovereign website: Just hours after being appointed the new SovCOM, I was contacted by Hades' CM Sandor who had already prepped up Sovereign Website. I can't thank him enough as I intended to work on one. You can reach the Sov site here http://sov.minos.net Be sure to visit often. Inspection of the ship: Every now and then I'll be doing an inspection of the ship. By that I mean I will visit every ship's squadron website, read through the squadron report, visit the forum, and briefly go through the roster. This will give me a better understanding of how things are running for that squadron and if any help is needed. This also applies for the wings too. After my little inspection I will make helpful suggestions that shouldn't effect the CMDR's operation of the squadron, too much. Also, I'll send a personal letter to that squadron. So look forward to it ;) WC and CMDR Reports: I know everyone has their own unique style of doing their reports and I think thats awesome. The pilots of the squad and wing get to know it and know what to expect each week. I only ask for a couple things to help me out as the COM which isn't too much of a hassle. I'd like to see them done at least =P I know I've fallen to it too where I skip a week but please keep the reports weekly. The pilots are depending on you for info, and don't rely on the wing report or ship report to compensate for you squad reports. Please upload your latest reports to the database too so that everyone has a chance to look back at the reports. Also, it allows me to look back on them when I do my inspections. Wing Commanders, when you do your reports, please attach your squad's reports in a text file so I can glance over them. This too will help me out with information gathering. If you're taking a leave of absence, be sure to give one of your most active pilots the oppurtunity to fill in as A-CMDR or A-WC. You never know, they may need to take your place and giving them a taste of POWAH will help them out. Also, the MSEs are always expected to be turned in at a timely manner but you WCs know that already ;) CoC Enforcement: One of the greatest things in the TC is the great fun and enjoyment you can experience here. But not at the expense of others. I hate pointing it out but I have to make it clear early on. Please obey the CoC's and be respectful of others. As WC of Wing II there have been numerous instances where I've had to ban people or kick them out of the wing because they could not do the simple little task of obeying the CoC's and being respectful to others. I had to do this to a RL friend once and if need be I'll do it again. So don't get on my bad side =P IRC interaction seems to be the height of problems when it comes to CoC's. Some of you spend a lot of time chatting here, which is cool, but that only increases the chance of CoC problems. I'm pretty active in IRC and if a problem occurs I'll be the first to know. Also, come visit me if you have a chance ;) I will also have it that in the #sssd_sovereign channel, only WCs and CMDRs have ops. There was an incident a few months ago that caused Proton to have this go into effect so I'll agree with his decision. I'm currently working on getting my bot `Gort to effectivly monitor the Sovereign Channel. For those of you who don't know `Gort, he is a robot from another planet who will wreak havoc upon humanity only if beings begin to wreak havoc first. He's about 8 feet tall, made of an unknown metal substance. He responds to the words "Klaatu, barada, nikto." When enraged, `Gort will open his visor and unleash a laser beam upon his targets. Beware the mighty `Gort. Sigma CMDR chosen: I still have some left over Wing II business to take care of and one of them was the appointment of Sigma CMDR. MAJ Aft decided to step down to the reserves due to RL. After receiving a few applicants I narrowed it down to LCM Granite. Granite has been with Sigma for the longest time I can remember and I know he's got the right stuff to command Sigma and to rebuild it. Congratulations, Granite. I will place you there soon, today. Wing II WC open for applications: The tough part of being promoted to a new spot is having to pick the new pilot to fill in for you. Argh. I've decided to open up and see who wants to apply instead of me having to search for a pilot to fill in for Wing II WC. Know though, that I will probably pick someone from within that wing. I'm not doing that just because I was from Wing II. If a WC from Wing I or Wing VII stepped down, there's a greater chance I'd pick the WC from within those wings. Please feel free to apply, though, as anything could happen. That is all: I look forward to working with the ship and pilots. Now if I can only figure out how to get all the engines on this ship calibrated so it moves! Battle Citations http://www.gysnet.com/ Wing News -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wing I: Awaiting orders from the ship. Have not received wing report since I joined, but thats ok, I just joined. Wing II: Engaged in the Veterans vs Rookies competition. I'm moderating this competition for the wing.
