SOVEREIGN LEAGUE

-- The Finals have concluded, and all that remains is my collection, compilation and announcement of the results. The three division coordinators of the SSL unfortunately have gone MIA/AWOL, but I have been picking up the pieces. All medals for combat runs 1-8 have now been awarded, with the exception of XvT CR 3-4 results, which apparently cannot be recovered. I will be announcing the Finals results and awards later this week. Thank you very much to all pilots who participated, and congratulations to the winners!

-- Imperial Storm V heads toward a boiling point. The Sov holds two planets and is aiming for more soon. The BGs have three planets. Expect fighting very soon. I am happy to point out that CM Sandor Clegane, admiral of one of our fleets, is doing a great job in the wargame. Sadly, MAJ Aft Skylek has been bounced from the fleet 2 admiral's chair for lack of contact. Palpatine help the Sov team, because I am leading both fleets 1 and 2. COL Nurel Turr also is assisting Clegane with Fleet 3.

-- My Imperial Alliance screenshot competition bombed. No entries. Oh, well, it was worth a try.

-- The Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed beta is in progress. I luckily got a beta invitation, and am authorized to give you my impression so far: IT IS FREAKING AWESOME. At least one EH PA member who also got a beta invite spent some time in our guild chat channel the other night saying JTL sucks. I discounted his opinion immediately because this guy is always complaining about things, and belittling and bitching about other players too. Anyway, I like JTL so far, and I think it will be worth a try for those of you who have enjoyed the LucasArts flight sims over the years.

"I haven't ever really spoken out about this, but in medal denials, so I'll go on official record with a few points on required items in medal recommendations and other general issues I've noticed lately:
* All MSE medals MUST include quantatative data, such as battles completed, multiplayer activity, IWATS completed, communications activity, and medals awarded to the pilot in that month.
* I will no longer approve a MSE medal if it doesn't include the medals awarded to the pilot that month and at least the general purpose of that medal being awarded. I want to cut down on double-awarding. Please note that what I'm specificially looking for are competition medals, web design medals, and things along those lines.
* Competition numbers must be included with every Iron Star medal recommendations. There are no excepetions to this rule.
* No merit medal may be awarded for any competition.
* Commendations of Bravery are to be awarded immediately after a pilot completes 30 missions. Any pilot who does so may request their CMDR to award this medal. This is not out of line, it's just making your CMDR aware that you have completed the required number of missions.

So, the ideal medal recommendation would look something like this:

CM Forrest Gump has been a great commander. He flew many battles this month as well as took many IWATS. Unfortunately, he has to step down as commander due to RL in the next week or so. For all his activity and for his work as commander, Forrest deserves a Bronze Star!

Another stellar month from one of our best CMDRs. He accumulated 476 points in Top Dawg and that is a great acheivment in itself. He maintains all his regular CMDR duties in a timely manner and is one of our best. Run Forrest Run!

"-COL Mike Chistu was found unconsious today in the bar. Tests later ran on his drink found it to be pure water. Apparently the shock of non-alcoholic liquid entering his body almost killed him. We send our best wishes to our WC, and hope for his swift recovery. On a related note, CPT Viper was found replacing the whiskey in the bar with water less than a minute after the incident with COL Chistu. Several charges are being levelled at CPT Viper, including poisoning, attempted murder, and general disruption of wing-wide drinking. More as this story developes.
