Greetings Intrepid and on to this weeks report!!

CMDR's be sure this reaches all of your pilots!!

A lot of activity this past week, with LT CrimsonFury continuing to lead the pack! Remember, March kicked off the Monthly FCHG/CR Races, so get involved and win yourself a shiny new medal each month!! ;)

The Fiction for a Battle Competition has ended, with only two submissions received. Quite a poor showing, but I'm sure that the two pilots that did participate won't mind being awarded the medals. This comp was for the benefit of the entire Ship, shame that only two pilots felt like supporting her during this competition. I'll be reading over both stories once again and will award the medals based on several criteria. My thanks to both pilots for their support and participation for the Intrepid! I'll be sure to remember this when it comes to MSE time as well!! ;)

Week 2 of the Back to Basics Comp has come and gone. Week 3 is now officially underway, fly Training Mission #3 and submit pilot files by 3/30/03 at the very latest! Same format, you must fly on Hard and use a new custom pilot file for the submission. I know more than 5 or 6 people are capable of flying, so show me why you should be considered pilots of the TIE Corps!!

MSE medal time is nearly upon us once again! CMDRs are looking for reasons to recommend medals for their pilots, pilots should be finding ways to help their CMDRs find those reasons. Every CMDR has a list of battles needed to be flown for new Battle Citations, the Battle Center is loaded with some great custom Battles and Missions, and not least of all are the MP Competitions held each week, nor the other competitions that your CMDR+ put together and host for your benefit as well. Show us why you became a member of the TIE Corps, participate!!

I'll be off work this weekend, there is even a slight possibility that my weekend might turn into a 4-day weekend. If it does you can count on seeing a high presence from me on IRC, and prepping some new competitions as well. ;)

Btw, the next time someone comes to me complaining about not receiving medals while others do should go look at their most recent ATR. Your CMDR will happily provide you a copy so you can see for yourself why you're not getting those MSE and/or Competition medals. If you aren't involved then don't come crying to me because you're not receiving medals like some other pilots do.

CMDRs, I expect to see at least one competition running each week from now on. I also request that you begin putting forth the efforts to personally attempt to recruit someone each week as well. Remember to utilize your FL's effectively in motivating pilots to fly, participate in competitions, etc. Lets bring the realism of a Chain of Command on board the Intrepid. More details of what I have in mind will follow this week, so expect some lengthy emails. :P

CPT Jedi Eclipse has an open FL position in Copperhead Squadron. Any FM interested in moving up the Command Ladder should submit an inquiry/application to CPT Eclipse (eh_jedieclipse@fastmail.fm).

From the Office of the FO:

TC Mailer Problems

At the time of writing this (1800 GMT), the TC mailer is not working. This means no confirmation emails for BSFs, updates etc. Hopefully this problem will be resolved by the time you bother reading this report.

General Issues

Over the past few weeks, the same problems have been cropping up with roster requests. So, for everyone's benefit, welcome to Requesting An Update 101:

    - Always be sure to include your own ID Line. This goes for ANY EH related email. You should also note that the only two ID Lines allowed to be used in conjunction are TC and DB ones.

    - If your request involves other pilots, then you must include their PIN# and ID Line. You must also tell me exactly what you're requesting (yeh, people actually don't bother :P)

    - Where possible, use the database to increase response time. The database can be used for the following:
  • Flight/Squadron/Wing/Ship/Battlegroup homepage, banner, motto or nickname change.
  • Pilot removals. This includes removal from FL or CMDR position (inc. reason), transfer to Reserves and AWOLing. Nothing else.
  • Rank promotion requests.
This means that you cannot use it to change your name or email address.

- Name change requests: These should be sent to me along with the reason for a change. Requests to change your name to a canon/book SW/Star Trek/Lord of the Ring/Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory character will be denied. Try to think of something suitably sci-fi. Do not include any titles, numbers or special characters other than the apostrophe (') or the hyphon (-).

- The Golden Rule: Do not include any of the following words or phrases in requests: Now, Immediately, ASAP, Get On With It, I Like Celine Dion Music,  Why Isn't It Done? and It's My Party & I'll Cry If I Want To.

TIE testers sought
12:23 - AD Marcin Szydlowski [pbmike@go2.pl]
Tactical Office requires 3 additional TIE testers. You are required to test at least 1 battle / week. It is not easy job so don't count on easy medals.
Email applications to me, my Attaché and TCC:TIE (if you cannot find their emails then forget about this job). Also include your PIN. No PIN = no job. What's more. It's FIFO system. So first 3 applications will be accepted.

Flag Officer Appointments
09:55 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
As was announced at last night's TIE Corps meeting (why weren't you there?), there are two new Flag Officers in the TIE Corps:

Congratulations to Major Thom Zack who has taken over as the new Wing Commander for Wing XIX on the SSD Avenger. He comes highly recommended and should continue to be a fine Officer.

Also congratulations to Rear Admiral Jahan Kalar, who has been appointed as Commodore of the ISD Relentless. Around a dozen applications were received, with several highly qualified candidates. Kalar stood out with his previous extensive experience as both Wing Commander and Flight Office Assistant. Myself and VA Krax are confident that he will prove to be the right choice.

I will now need a new FOA, but DO NOT send me any emails about this yet. I'll post some requirements shortly.
