Greetings Intrepid and on to this weeks report!!
CMDR's be sure this reaches all of your pilots!!
Two competitions down, still more to go! This week I announced the winners for the Intrepid Custom Banner and Ship Report GFX Comps! Congrats to CPT Drako for his 1st place finish and to CPT Blade for his 2nd place finish in the Int Custom Banner Comp! Congrats also to CM Tvan'Oris for his 1st place finish and to LT CrimsonFury for his 2nd place finish in the Int Ship Report GFX Comp! CPT Drako's finished creation can be found on the Int Roster page on the TC database, and CM Tvan'Oris' entry can be found at the top of this report. I believe everyone would agree that both GFX are great! My thanks to everyone that participated. :)
Monday is the last day of the Int vs Imm MP Marathon, and so far only two matches have been recorded, putting the Int and Imm dead even. I encourage everyone to get in contact with an Imm pilot and put the slaughter to them so that the Int can win this, and win by more than a single victory! Go INTREPID!!!!
Also, the Intrepid Back to Basics Competition has begun after a small delay due to RL intrusions. Details were sent out earlier this past week, but in case anyone failed to receive them here they are again. All pilots will fly the first XvT SP Training mission, submitting it under a new custom pilot file to the COM by 3/11/03. You are permitted to only fly the mission on Hard, any missions submitted flown on Easy or Medium will be deleted. IS-SW for 1st place and an IS-BW for second place! On 3/12/03 the second SP Training mission will be assigned and we will continue forward until all of the training missions are completed. Once they are completed I will then award an IS-SW to the pilot who finished in 1st place the most times during the 6 week training cycle. Get to those fighters and complete that training!
The March Madness Comp sponsored by VA Darksaber was held on March 1st as expected. The outcome was also what was expected, the ASF spanked the ATF into submission! This is the first ASF vs. another BG comp that has been held in a long time, but the ASF proved yet again that it should never be underestimated. Congrats to all ASF pilots that participated, you should stand tall and proud of your accomplishments during this competition!! :)
LC Tissaya Argat is trying to organize an official ASF vs. Sov SP/MP competition. So far the feedback is great, although it is apparent that the Sov doesn't like to run multiple competitions at once like the ASF does. Apparently running the Sov Squadron League is a bit much for them and they are proposing running this new comp after the other one finishes. However, Tissy can be very persuasive when she needs to be so I have no doubts that they may decide to swing this one soon as well. More details will arrive as they are made available.
This week I have sad news as the Intrepid is about to lose two of its long standing pilots, both who happen to be CMDRs as well. CPT Gistenjunge has decided to accept an invitation to join Tau Squadron, I'm very sure he will quickly rise to become their best pilot, after all the Intrepid only trains the best! hehehe As you've read in other reports already, RA Khadgar has selected MAJ Archon as his new Commander for Wing XIII. This isn't official yet, but I'm confident that the FO will approve the appointment since it has already received the ASF Seal of Approval from the BGCOM as well. Archon you take care on the Mutt, don't let those furry beasts get too many fleas on you. Both pilots will be sorely missed on the Intrepid, godspeed and best of luck to both of you as your careers progress in the TIE Corps!!
Now with the announcements of the loss of two CMDRs also comes the announcement that the Intrepid now needs two new CMDRs quickly to fill the void these great CMDRs will be leaving. Applications should be submitted to LC Tissaya Argat (tissaya_argat@wp.pl) and CCd to RA Wil Striker (wilstriker@kc.rr.com) as soon as possible so that replacements may be found and keep the Squadrons running fluidily.
MSE Awards will be processed and submitted now that LC Argat has completed her reviews and submitted her recommendations to me. CMDRs if you have any last minute changes or additions to your MSEs this is the time to get them submitted to the COM before Monday 1700 HRS (EST). After I've completed my review and approved the medals for request with OPS it will be too late to add anything else. :P
I'd like to formally welcome SL's Decker Olt, Mystic Rogue, Chapel Campbell, Thunder and Willie to the ISD-II Intrepid! Also welcome to MAJ Kyle, LC Timbal, CM Slawter Thren and CPT Psyko Prefect! It's great to see so many new pilots joining our ranks, and from what I've been told there are many more still waiting to arrive. It's especially great to see LC Timbal back in the Intrepid ranks after his lengthy stay in the Reserves. Welcome back Timbal! VA Darksaber has also been busy recruiting pilots as well, even from the RSV's. Overall the ASF is doing a great job of finding new and talented pilots. Remember, there are many places to recruit, take advantage of them all and the ASF will continue to be the best Battle Group in the entire ASF! Btw, we are rapidly closing once again on becoming the largest ISD in the TIE Corps. Keep up the great activity and we'll be back on top in no time!! :)
Last weekend VA Khameir Sarin was forced to resign his position as COM of the Grey Wolf. Many of you don't know Sarin the way I do, and his resignation was a true loss to the ASF, as well as to the TC. Sarin, we wish you much success in your deployment and hope you make it back to us safely and unharmed. Keep your head down bro when the rounds fly overhead. ;)
RA Khadgar is once again back in the saddle as COM of the Mutt! Many of you were not in the ASF when Khadgar previously held this position, but it goes without saying that we can expect to see more great things from him. Congrats Khaddy old buddy on your recent appointment!! :)
I'd like to extend my personal congratulations to VA Sickman on his recent promotion! Sicky was my first CMDR when I joined the TIE Corps nearly three years ago and has been my friend since that time. His inspiration and guidance during certain periods proved to be invaluable. It is great to see this fine officer reach such a noteworthy rank! Rock on Sicky!! :)
Asp Squadron has a new homepage located at http://www.emerge.net.au/~lcheese/asp/asp.html! It's a nice site, and I'm proud to see that the GFX I created for Asp so long ago is still being used by its current members. ;)
ASF Trivia #5 has been released! Use some of your free time and submit your answers to VA Darksaber!
A large number of promotions and awards have been handed out this week, be sure to check out the list below! MSE medals have not yet been submitted since I just received the recommendations from the WC. I'll go over them within the next 24 hours and give her my feedback and additional recommendations. ;)
CPT Drako has provided me feedback regarding the Int/W14 website and has informed me that all Links have been updated per the new requirements. He's also going to be creating the coding so that in the near future we'll be able to add the results to the listed competitions as part of a permanent record. Drako has also informed me that he will be reworking the coding problem so that the WC and I can once again upload our weekly reports to the site for easier review for all crew members. CPT Drako is a very busy person, and I want to express to him my personal thanks for tackling these issues while dealing with his RL school schedule.

The event of perhaps your entire TIE Corps career is coming! SSSD Sovereign League 2003! More details very soon!
Sov Wargame Progress
11:14 - VA Pel [Palinathas@aol.com]
Two battles have now been fought in Operation: Outrageous Fortune (The Sovereign Wargme). Both battles have seen Blue Team (Wings I/IV/V) lose heavily, but not without cost. Red Team (Wings II/III/Omea Squadron) have lost about 6 squadrons of their Gunboats, compared to Blue's losses of 2 Task Fleets. Both teams would be in far worse shape were it not for the efforts of their Single Player TIE and XvT pilots. Future battles will be announced here, so if you can participate, help your team out.
