Greetings Intrepid and on to this weeks report!!
CMDR's be sure this reaches all of your pilots!!
This is sure to be a lengthy report, so get a drink, sit down and relax for a bit. :P
Early this past week I suffered a major meltdown with my computer OS, caused mostly by two corrupted files within my Norton anti-virus. Go figure, it's designed to protect my computer against viruses, but somehow decided to kill my computer instead. In any case I have lost some files that weren't recoverable, as well as some emails. So if you haven't heard back from me on something important please let me know ASAP!
Today Tissaya Argat informed the EH that she wishes to resign all of her positions within the EH. This means that now Wing XIV is without a WC until I have a new one to appoint. The FO asked me to withhold making this announcement at the TC Meeting earlier today, but the BGCOM made the announcement in his BG Report, so basically now the cat is out of the proverbial bag. Tissy cited a couple of main reasons why she was leaving, and I won't go into them here. But suffice it to say that I understand her position and reasons and she has only my best wishes for her future. She has promised to come back and visit with us as often as she can, and I've promised to have the milk and cookies ready for her as well. Safe travel wherever you go Tissy!!
With Tissy departing I'll have to select a new WC. I have already passed on a name to AD Darksaber and am awaiting his reply. Please, do NOT send any applications. For the time being CMDRs may send their pilot files to me for processing, or feel free to ask another CMDR within Wing XIV for assistance. Asp pilots, please continue submitting your pilot files to the WC:XO, CPT Phantom, until your new CMDR is appointed.
Also, any Wing Comps that Tissy was running please be sure to send me the submissions and I'll ensure that the comps are completed. So if you have already submitted an entry to her, please be sure to resend it to me as soon as possible.
I received a lot of applications for the Asp CMDR position, which is great. A new CMDR has been selected, and his Flag Officers have been contacted regarding the selection. His COM has responded back favorably, so now I'm just waiting for his WC to respond. Once that happens then I'll notify the FO and we'll get the new CMDR in place. No name is being released yet since it is policy that such announcements cannot be made until it is approved by the FO. Sorry Asp, you'll have to stick it out a bit longer I'm afraid. But hopefully by the end of this week you'll have your new CMDR. ;)
COL Frodo has resigned his position as WC of Wing V today at the TC Meeting. Needless to say it was an interesting meeting, if you missed it. LOL In any case he has requested to transfer back to Wing XIV and to Krayt Squadron. Like many I missed Frodo when he left, so his sudden return is a welcome surprise!
I'd like to formally welcome SL's Hobbes, Michael K Starburst and Reicht Beherrscht! This places us at 41 pilots, and the CMDRs have been instructed that recruiting is a primary responsibility for them at this time. In the meantime welcome these new pilots! New arrivals, feel free to join us on mIRC on the #WingXIV channel. :)
There's been some shuffling within the ranks of several Squadrons this week. As I stated recently, FLs that fail to be active and help the Squadron will be demoted and replaced with someone new that is willing to fulfill the duty responsibilities. I'm sure this weeks demotions will serve to prove the point quite well. I want to thank the CMDRs for taking the initiative to make these changes and work to improve things within their respective Squadrons.
I've been informed that Imperial Storm IV is in the planning now. The ASF Flags are now putting together a strategy team to prepare for the eventual arrival of this comp. RA Khadgar and I have already informed the BGCOM that we're ready to do our part for strategizing the next Imp Storm. I'm sure we'll be needing some good MP pilots, so expect some invites to join the group as the time grows near!
Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting! I can't say this enough, the only way we'll grow in strength and numbers is by actively recruiting! Some of you are doing a great job and you have my sincere appreciation. Most of you could at least give it a shot and see if you can recruit a new CT or RSV pilot to join us. Remember, for every new CT you assist in training you'll receive a shiny Medal of Instruction! Lets get our numbers back up to 60, the Vanguard is only 2 pilots away from hitting that magic number!
CMDRs, I have received Comp ideas from only CM Justin and LC Gidda as I asked. That leaves 3 current CMDRs that have not yet supplied ideas. If you did submit something, please resend it since it is likely that while I was experiencing computer problems this past week that the emails may have gotten lost. I've already discovered more than a dozen emails that were somehow lost already. :P
FLs, remember that you are now required to submit weekly updates/reports to your CMDR by Thursday of each week. CMDRs are now taking steps to ensure this is complied with.
CPT Tvan'Oris has asked to stepdown from his FL position in Diamondback Squadron. Typically this is how the members of Diamondback run things, they take turns being FL in order to help others gain more rank and potential command experience. It has worked well in the past, and as a result they have a number of highly ranked pilots in their midst. At the same time some pilots from Db have gone on to have Squadron commands of their own. I'd like the other CMDRs to take notice of this and strive to implement such ideas within their own Squadrons as well. You might be surprised who suddenly turns out to be qualified for command duties. ;)
Diamondback continues to lead the way for the ASF in the SSL! I hope other Squadrons do likewise for Round 3 and have higher participation!
CPT Drako has informed me that while he is working on the coding for the new ASF website he will also endeavor to fix the Report coding problem that exists on our Intrepid website. This is great news because it will provide me the opportunity to ensure that all Intrepid Flag reports have another place to be viewed, instead of just on the EHnet.org site which tends to have some server problems. :P
I've been in contact with the Rebel Squadrons this past week and received some favorable feedback regarding an Imp vs. RS styled competition. Unfortunately it looks like in order for this to be more realistic we may have to also include XWA into the mix in order to have more than just 2v2 MP matches. We've also briefly discussed the possibility of having some Cap vs Cap engagements as well. More info will be forthcoming as we work out the details and receive permission from our respective commands for this competition. ;)
This past week I had some great feedback regarding the Fiction/Mission creation for the Intrepid Timeline Project. As soon as I have a new WC in place and a few other things worked out this week I'll get in contact with everyone and give more details on what I'm interested in. With Frodo coming back to join us we'll definitely have one more person to help with the mission design side of things! :)
Congratulations to our ASF BGCOM, who this week was promoted to the illustrious rank of Admiral! Congrats AD Darksaber!! :)
Week 7 of the BtB is upon us! This is the final week of the Intrepid Back to Basics Comp, so I'm hoping to see a lot more participation to help end this great competition! So far LC Gidda seems to be the dominating pilot. Best of luck to everyone, and as always you must fly on Hard and submit your custom pilot file to me by Saturday, 2400 HRS (EST). Also, remember the one try - one fly rule.
And now, TIE Corps/EH News from the past week:
Recent Events
12:08 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Greetings TIE Corps.
As I'm sure most of you are aware by now, there have been some serious events with the Dark Brotherhood over the weekend, the details of which can be found on the main EH page. This is a significant turn of events that will have implications for many TIE Corps members who have friends in the DB, or are members themselves. I understand this will be the topic of conversation pretty much everywhere, so I ask people use common sense...please don't incite or flame the issue unnecessarily. I also request that everyone, whether you have a decision to make or not, carry on as normal. Those of you in command, continue to do your jobs...make sure those under you remain informed as always.
An EH Oath of Loyalty has been created in light of all this. Whilst I'm not keen on the "oath" part, I think it's an excellent way to show your support for your fellow pilots, superiors and the TIE Corps. Whilst signing it is certainly not mandatory, I encourage you to do so. EH Oath of Loyalty.
As always, I'll be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Praetorian Recruitment Competition
01:37 - MAJ Turr Phennir [mparkes@iprimus.com.au ]
Pilots of EH, let it be known to you, that Praetorian Elite Squadron searches for brave men and women who would like to serve among the best of ID. If you want to prove to Praetorian CMDR and to yourself that you are worthy of becoming one of us, participate in Praetorian Recruitment Tournament. Following the old tradition of Imperial Red Guard, you need to prove yourself in combat. The one who will come triumphant from the trials (highest total score in all 4 free missions given) will be awarded FL spot in the squadron, while 6 next will be given chance to become FMs. This challenge is open to any pilot of fleet, no matter of rank, record or position but you must however be free from any HCI Cheating Conviction.
All participants must mail Praetorian CMDR - MAJ Turr Phennir and Praetorian XO - COL Andrzej Mezynski, no later then by 23rd April with email subject "Praetorian Recruitment Tournament".

Clarification
12:44 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
This statement from the Fleet Commander posted
today on one of the forums should help clear up a lot of
questions...
Until I receive at least acknowledgement of their
acceptance of my 'terms" posted at: http://www.emperorshammer.org/news.htm (sent
to Firefox & co. 3 times along with a demand for a response), EH members
that join their group (that has unrightfully stolen EH property) will not be
welcome in the EH. If you are unsure what to do, please sit tight and do
nothing...Since you will have not JOINED their group, you have not left the
EH...
As always, please email me if you have any specific questions.
TCC:XvT open for
applications
02:46 - AD
Marcin Szydlowski [pbmike@go2.pl]
With the resignation of LC Pellaeon, I've opened TCC:XvT
for applications. You can find all requirements in latest TAC report. Good luck
to all who wish to be TAC's slave :)
BGCOM Promotions
05:26 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The recommendation I sent to GA Ronin and SA
Astatine:
Sirs,
I would like to recommend the promotion of two
individuals to Admiral today, Vice Admiral Krax Tarnisar, BGCOM of the TC
Battlegroups, and Vice Admiral Darksaber, Aggressor Strike Force
BGCOM.
Both of these Flag Officers have held their positions for many
months now, and during this time they have proven their competence and
commitment to their position without fail. They are utterly reliable Officers,
continually working to help their commands grow and improve, often with their
due credit. Without them my job would be considerably more difficult, and I
regard them as vital members of the EH.
These promotions have been
approved, so many congratulations to Admiral Darksaber and Admiral Krax Tarnisar!
Flag Officer Appointments
09:43 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
With the recent removals in the Avenger Task
Force (see the upcoming FO report for all the details on this), I've selected
all the replacement Flag Officers. Congratulations to...
~ Rear Admiral Ranthier Khaen - promoted
to Vice Admiral and Battlegroup Commander of the ATF
~ Rear Admiral Charles "Demos"
Spencer - appointed Commodore of the SSD Avenger

~ Major TK-2107 - appointed to Wing

repairing damage to the ATF. Please show them your support and appreciation when
you get a chance. Thank you.

the position of Wing X Wing Commander is now open to applications. Those wishing
to apply must be able to meet the following requirements...
All applications should be sent to Admiral Krax and Rear Admiral Sephiroth with
the subject "Wing X WC" as soon as possible.
