"Lieutenant!", he called for his personal assistant, "Why do I have a report here from engineering asking for approval to repair the secondary reactor on engine number 2 because of damage due to blaster fire?"
"Well, Sir, I believe that the secondary reactor was damaged due to fire from personal hand weapons." Getting an evil scowl from Jahan, he continued, "Uh, well, uh, I believe that, um, I mean I think that, er..."
"Just spit it out, Lieutenant." Jahan had many more reports to go through, and it was late.
"Well, Sir, I guess that two of the crewmen in engineering were target shooting in the engine room and they hit the reactor."
"Lieutenant, this is a secret they teach us Admirals, but I'm willing to let you in on it. You should never, ever, use "target shooting" and "engine room" in the same sentence. Tether those two crewman to the outside of the ship, we'll see how they like target shooting out there."
The Lieutenant looked surprised but saluted and made for the door.
"No, on second thought, have them report to the number 7 turbolaser, I think the whole system needs some cleaning. They are going to wish they were outside after they are done with that." Jahan grinned and motioned for the Lieutant to leave.
Greetings and welcome to another ship report from the bridge of the Imperial Star Destroyer Relentless. It was a slow week up until this whole "DB thing" (more on that later), but for right now, on to the report!
Situation Report
- The Relentless is currently investigating pirates in the far reaches of EH space. These pirates seemed run-of-the-mill at first, but lately they have been seen with Rebel equipment including expensive fighter craft and, it is rumored, even a couple of capital ships hidden somewhere in a nearby asteroid belt. Patrols are regularly checking nearby systems, and hopefully we'll have these pirates soon. They are menacing shipping in the nearby region and have even threatened EH colonies.
- Our engineers have been experimenting with new techniques to enhance the rate of fire of our turbolasers, with some success. Hopefully this technique will be ready when we finally meeting up with the pirates.
- Last but not least, someone apparently thought it would be funny to replace my Rear Admiral rank badge with a Sub-Lieutenant rank badge. Drake's "Sub-Lieutenant on the bridge" comment was not at all appreciated :P
Relentless News
- Ted was removed as Sword Commander folloing a lengthy period of not answering emails.
- CM Sarn Erec is the new Sword Commander, and has received a promotion to CM as well. Drinks are on him!
- Drake has taken a little rest time off for some RL issues, hopefully he'll be back into the swing of things soon.
- During Drake's absense, Gunman is the A-WC. Treat him with the same respect you'd give Drake, and send day-to-day Wing things his way. Commanders, send your BSFs to me, I can take care of them for you.
"The Whole DB Thing"
- Ok, quick recap for those of you that don't already know. A bunch of the DB CS decided that the DB needed to break away from the EH, mostly because they don't like Astatine's actions as XO. Needless to say, Ronin didn't like that too much and is going to expel the lot of them (including our own Darth Vader). He also has said that anyone who joines this "new DB" will be expelled from any and all EH positions. EHers who stay with the "EHDB" will not be in trouble or expelled or anything like that.
- Now, here's the deal. I don't know enough of the back-story to tell you one way or another which side is right and which is wrong. That being said, if Ronin doesn't change his mind, those of you in the DB that go the the new DB could be expelled from the EH. I don't want that to happen, and I'm going to do everything I can to prevent that from happening. But I think it would be only fair to warn you that it could happen.
- If anyone involved in this wants to talk, my door is open. Drop me a line. I understand that this is kind of unexpected, but I'm sure we'll get by, and hopefully we can all work together to work this out so everyone is happy.
