Greetings Intrepid and on to this weeks report!!

CMDR's be sure this reaches all of your pilots!!

CM Chris Cox stepped down as CMDR of Asp Squadron this week. Applications are now being accepted. Applications should include details on what plans you have to bring Asp back to full strength and active again. Please leave out details regarding any of the normal monthly comps evolving around FCHG/Battle Cits/etc. Everyone does those. I want to see ideas for new and imaginative projects. Apps should be sent to WC/LC Tissaya Argat (moonelf@op.pl) and COM/VA Wil Striker (wilstriker@kc.rr.com), and please CC the ASF BGCOM/VA Darksaber (Darksaber@ehnet.org). Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate has been found.

MSE medal recommendations have been processed and most have been awarded. At this time I currently have 2 Bronze Stars waiting to be awarded. Congratulations to everyone that received an MSE medal! For those of you that didn't receive a medal, you might want to consider that inactivity doesn't bring forth rewards. :P

This past week I and my CMDRs were openly accused by a pilot of being to "strict" in how we run things on the Intrepid. Honestly I found this statement to be ridiculous because the pilot that made it had been onboard for several months and had only flown a total of 19 missions. The fact that he was still onboard the Intrepid should be testament alone to the fact that we're not strict, but we do have a limit to our tolerance on inactivity. If anyone feels that things are too strict around here then please feel free to send me a private email detailing what you think is wrong. But if you do so I'd appreciate some constructive ideas as well, rather than just complaints. I'm always open to people's opinions, so please don't feel that I'm going to hold any comments against you.

CMDRs recently received details on what I want to see changed across the entire Wing. Most of them have responded quite favorably to my requests. I anticipate that word will be filtering down in the next day or so about what is expected of the FLs and FMs from now on.

Pilots, once again I'm forced to remind you of the necessity of following the FO's Transfer Protocols! Just this past week two pilots failed to follow these protocols, and needless to say this does not sit well with the Flags or the FO. Apparently a refresh is in order on the proper procedures for requesting a transfer. The full details can be found at http://www.btinternet.com/~spellfire/go.html!

The Intrepid Top Gun Competition ends this Tuesday, 4/15/03! There's been only a small level of participation, which is really sad considering the fact that this comp involves flying only one single mission. I encourage everyone to find time before 2400 HRS EST on 4/15 and fly this mission and participate! Remember, participation in comps and activities weighs in on future promotions. ;)

Round 3 of the SSL is now underway! The new list of missions has been released, they are: TIE-Free #198, XvT-Free #137 and XWA-Free #73! Deadline is April 25th for submissions! Also remember the "one try - one fly" rule for XvT. This means that if you fail to complete the mission, you need to delete the pilot file and create a new one before starting again. I myself have a bad habit of not doing this, but I've been working on trying to fix that habit. :P

I'd like to welcome SL Hobbes to the Intrepid! He's a personal friend of LCM CrimsonFury, who we all know well for his high levels of activity and online contact. Hobbes, I'm sure you're going to have a LOT of fun here on the Intrepid and in Krayt Squadron!

I'll be updating the Wing Group list again today in light of the recent transfers that have taken place.

I'm working on a new comp idea for the entire Ship, one that will involve the use of both XvT and XWA. The reason is because I want to provide some activity using the Cap Ships and support craft of the Intrepid battle group, as well as the fighters. I'll be talking with various members of the crew in the next week or so about this idea to help work out the details and plans for implementing it. ;)

The XO and TO have instituted a new policy regarding competitions. No longer will a competition be approved that exceeds a 3 month time frame. If you wish to run a monthly comp that runs for a full year, then every few months you will need to get it reapproved in order to continue it. In light of the constant command changes I think this idea makes pretty good sense actually. And to answer your questions, any long term comps already approved are still in effect. I saw nothing that stated they were no longer valid.

And now, TIE Corps/EH News from the past week:

Flight Office Assistant
07:06 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
For those of you who missed the TC meeting last night (blame daylight savings :P), my new FOA is Colonel Reaper. Thanks to all those who applied. Please note that with some upcoming Flight Office projects I'll probably require another FOA who'll come from the current list of applicants.

Wing XVIIII Wing Commander
07:15 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The new WC for Wing XVIII on the Avenger has been selected. Congratulations from the Flight Office go out to Major Davi Anthol!

Anthol has a solid history of Command and should excel in his new role as Wing Commander. Congrats again.

ChalCOM Selected
09:43 - HA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Congratulations to the new Commodore of the ISD Challenge, who is named in the most recent Flight Office report.

Nicked by Razors
07:40 - VA Kyle Katarn [Kyle.Katarn@isdcolossus.com]

There is a new Competition where we can play. You can find the information in the Combat Calendar and on the BSC Website. If you got questions please mail me.

EH/RS Competitions
08:29 - RA Darknyte [darknyte@alltel.net]

I've gotten many questions lately by people who want to hold competitions with the RS now that we've formally allied with them. This is great and actually encouraged by not only myself, but GA Ronin as well. I just want to lay down the proper procedures to make sure things get done and the comps can happen. When you make initial contact with the RS regarding a competition, you must CC the LA, TO, and COO(If an MP comp) on your emails. We will need to be apprised on what is going on. After you get your competition set up and approved by all parties, send in a Competition Approval Form if you plan to award medals, if not just have your comp and win some glory for the EH.

I hope this will help a little bit to eliminate some of the confusion regarding this subject, and good luck in your comps.
