Proton pressed the bacta-soaked icepack to his throbbing temple as he stepped over the form of a pilot passed out in the Sovereign cantina entry way. Bar droids, maintenance droids and medical personnel whizzed back and forth, sweeping away the debris, damage and unconscious from the largest party ever conducted in the well-worn ship cantina.
The commodore had briefly left the party to work on urgent planning for the upcoming Bombing Run Blowout missions, but he was now returning to see whether the cantina still stood.
It did, barely. The droids would be busy for quite some time. Proton sighed and smiled -- wincing at the shooting pain this caused to his already pounding hangover headache -- recalling the unprecedented merriment and free flow of high-octane spirits.
"Heh," Proton muttered as he sipped on a warm beer and stuffed down a slice of dead pizza. "We should win Imperial Storm more often. This is helluva fun."

SOVEREIGN AND FLEET NEWS AND NOTES

-- Imperial Storm III. OK, we finished far ahead in points. We saw more action than all other fleets. We bagged far more capital ships (including an SSD and an ISD) and fighters than the other fleets. And most importantly, we had the most fun. Scoreboard, baby! The SSSD Sovereign won Imperial Storm III! Congratulations to all participants -- you made the wargame a great experience for your fellow pilots and your proud commodore.

-- Further congratulations go to Gen Es'mith and Jahan Kalar, who have been promoted to the coveted rank of General! These two wing commanders have been doing a fine job and they richly deserve the rank advancement. They're also helping Halcyon pay for all the drinks these days in the flag officers' lounge.

-- Coming Aug. 1, the Sovereign Bombing Run Blowout. The competition will run for eight weeks. Elements will include four custom TIE free missions, an XWA ladder and fiction and art categories. On the XWA ladder, I could use some help from someone who has run one before. E-mail me at hullbreach@aol.com if you are interested in helping. Also, the winning squadron and wing in this event will be awarded the titles of COM's Own.
