SSSD SOVEREIGN NEWS, 4-8-02

COM/VA Proton reporting for the SSSD Sovereign, flagship of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet.

Wing commanders, pass this along to your squadrons, and cc: me on those mails.

SOVEREIGN AND FLEET NEWS AND NOTES

-- The reorganization has been completed, with a few bumps but that was to be expected. The transferred officers from the closed Wing VI are gravitating to good new positions, as anticipated, and the five wings are welcoming their new wingmen. Wings I through V are thereby strengthened, and I am excited about the potential for coming successes by the Sovereign. I also appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during the occasionally painful reorganization.

-- Imperial Storm III planning continues! Here is the IS III Web site: http://www.emperorshammer.net/wo/is3/

-- All multiplayer pilots are urged to jump into the new Sovereign Nighthawk Multiplayer Competition! It's Friday nights in #ehcoc on IRC, 3 to 6 p.m. eastern time. This is a great way for all Sov jocks to get trained and win some awards! Also, the creation of Nighthawk as an ongoing weekly comp is a clean sweep for Omega squadron. Omega's newest member, Autoris Maximus, is the main planner of the comp. And the first- and second-place winners of the naming comp are from Omega: LC Janich and COL Darth Vader. Congratulations to the Omegans!

-- Return of the Rat Pack Round 6 ends today, Rats vs. Wing VI CMDRs (yes, the VI CMDRs were urged to keep flying even though they got transferred in mid-mission ;) ).

Now begins the Return of the Rat Pack finale: Rats vs. Omega Squadron. The arrogant Omegans are talking big (see DV's quote below), but GN Devin and the rest of the Rats will be doing our best to put these punks (and geezers) in their realistic places.

"We’re going to whoop yer asses. Hahaha. Silly rats :P" -COL Darth Vader/Omega

-- New EH Internet guidelines
15:46 - FA Ari [ari@tiecorps.org]
I have written up a list of Internet Guidelines for the entire fleet. You can always check them out at http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php. Sites MUST follow the rules laid out in the guidelines, and we at the Internet Office highly recommend considering the suggestions.

Rules:
Sites MUST have links to the EH Disclaimers (http://www.emperorshammer.org/disclaim.htm) and EH Privacy Policy (http://www.emperorshammer.org/privacy.htm) pages displayed on the main page of their site or on the navbar.
Sites may NOT use tsx.org as a redirection service.
Obviously, all sites must abide by Bylaws and AoWs.
Sites who do not obey these rules will not be linked to by any major EH site. Webmasters who do not comply after being asked to may be subject to Security Officer action.
The Internet Officer reserves the right to add rules to these at any time.

Strong Suggestions:
Sites with excessively long URLs should consider domain redirection provided by http://www.stardestroyer.org.
All sites should be compatible with the latest version of major browsers (IE 6 and Netscape 6).
Sites should preferably be optimized for 800x600 resolution, but if it is necessary, 1024x768 is also acceptable.
A good idea is to run your site through the W3C HTML Validator (http://validator.w3.org/) and CSS Validator (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/).
Do not have unnecessary large images, popups, or Java applets on your page. They slow down loading time tremendously.
A warning about using MS Word and older versions of Frontpage to create websites: they add in large amounts of unnecessary tags, which slow down loading times.
These aren't too much to ask for I hope, but all EH sites MUST follow these rules.

-- Cheaters. In looking over the new HCI site Sunday I was dismayed to see the names of yet another Sovereign pilot and an ex-Sovereign pilot, busted for cheating. This follows HCI cases just one week earlier in which two other Sov pilots were busted to SL for cheating. Three of the four cheaters were squadron CMDRs at the time or recently.

Some personnel are being accommodating of the disgraced cheaters, and I admire their ability to be so charitable to people who have brought disgrace upon their wings and squadrons. Memo to cheaters past and future: I lack the same or similar humane characterics to easily forgive the harm done by cheating and cheaters to the Sovereign and the TIE Corps. So don't expect any sympathy from me.

Please welcome the following new Sovereign pilot!

CANTINA COMMENTS

"Can you make alcohol from fermenting monkeys or BB-Qued Ewoks?" -LC Ixion Deathbringer

"Okay, I noticed something recently....
It's entirely too quiet in this wing!!!! E-mails have been dropping
off as of late, and I'm concerned... You see, it goes like this. My
brain has been warped.. erm... "molded" in the Wing II traditional
fashion.
So when I notice it's quiet, I start thinking... Wing II had
dissolved colons. It also had lots of e-mail traffic. Thus, the
amounts of e-mail a wing receives is INVERSELY proportional to the
speed at which dissolved colons grow back!
MY GOD MEN! COMPOSE E-MAILS QUICK BEFORE YOUR COLON GROWS BACK!!!" -LC Freelancer

"
WOMAN, WOMAN, WOMAN!!!

ahem, sorry. As you were saying?" -MAJ "cuckoo" Mike

"Helloooooooooooooooooooo Wing V!
My old stomping grounds...it's time to start trouble...too bad that they closed Wing VI...we had to bring all our mascots with us...is that your leg my Wacky Wampa is gnawing on?
MUHAHAHAHA!" -LC Jesseb Skyrauch
