ISDII Relentless Report # 8 (2002-09-06)

This report was submitted by RA Theodore

Greetings and salutations

Well another week has gone by and much has happened. I FIRST want to say that I am happy that I have seen much more communication on the ship this week and we have several people actively posting in the Recruiting Msg Boards. Well done. Thanks to a few pilots, we also have seen quite a few more bsfs this week. In all, I am happy with the improvement of the week.

I would like to send my best wishes to PowerSlave. His leadership will be missed, but RL issues must come first and we are here to have fun with our SPARE time. We'll be here when he gets more time to play with and will welcome him home as our brother.

A VERY nice tribute to PS's leadership would be to make a strong showing in the Flagship competition. PARTICIPATION counts, Participation counts, participation counts, participation counts !!!!!

So everyone should be working on a BG, Ship, Wing or Squad banner. We will present our best to be considered, but ALL people can make some crappy little thing in MS paint and receive credit for participation....so take some time and create a graphic today !!!

ALL submissions go to your superior squad to CMDR, CMDR to WC, WC to ME. We will compile our entries and attach the appropriate propaganda to get the best score possible.

NEXT...for those of you who believe in hollywood, I'll fill you in on a few things about Las Vegas. Benjamin "Bugsy" Seigel is credited with the vision to make Vegas a destination gambling spot and convinced his 'partners' Lucky Luciaano and Meyer Lansky to put up the funding for the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. (The Flamingo, however, was the THIRD, modern hotel and casino opened on the strip). the Flamingo opened in 1946 before the hotel was complete and the casino lost large amounts of money which led to 'Bugsy' being "removed" from the partnership. His replacement(s) in organizing and "buying" into the other casinos were Moe Sedway and Gus Greenbaum (The fictional Moe Green in the "Godfather" movies). Sedway and Greenbaum cut construction costs, added hotel rooms, and lit up the strip. Las Vegas was changed from a Western town into a hollywood hangout which attracted a society/sophisticated gambler.

As always...have fun and behave like an officer.
