TIE Fighter Ship Patch Released!
08:26 - AD Ender mBind [mindb_ender@hotmail.com]
Today saw the release of the "Emperor's Hammer Ship Patch" for TIE fighter '95.
This patch adds the Shipyard, Repairyard, Medium Transport, Communications Relay, Sensor Array, Astromech, Gunplatform, Large Gunplatform, Laser Battery, Super Star Destroyer and Pilot to TIE95. It fixes the bug in TIE Fighter that keeps Imperial Star Destroyers from firing their lasers.
The patch can be installed together with other patches and kept installed permanently as it does not replace any existing Craft.

This patch replaces the earlier "ISD Lasers Patch" for TC flying. Go check it out on the Patch Archive.

Design The XO Site Competition
05:53 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
The current XO site isn't very good and hasn't been updated for a while. By the nature of the office, the XO site should be a nexus for some very important information within the EH. To address this, I'll need a new design, as the current one (at http://www.emperorshammer.net/xo/) is pretty basic.

The basis of the competition will be to design a "template" for the site, which should include graphics, menu elements, etc. The menu items on the current site can be used as a guide for the template. Everything else is left to your creative whims. Final submissions can either be hosted online, with the URL emailed to me, or the files themselves can be emailed to me. Submissions close on 30th November. The competition is open to all EH members. First place gets an Iron Star Gold Ribbon (or subgroup equivilant). Second and third, if up to scratch, will get a Iron Star Silver Ribbon and Iron Star Bronze Ribbon respectively. Submissions should be sent to xo@emperorshammer.org with the subject of "I have l33t w3b skillz".

IWCOM open for applications
05:07 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
Overview
The position of Infiltrator Wing Commander (IWCOM) involves the day-to-day operations and oversight of the subgroup, as well as development, implementation and followthrough of competitions and other activities for the entire subgroup. Appointment and review of IW command staff are also key duties for this position.

Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills.
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer.
5. Experience at some level of command, preferably at least at TIE Corps Wing Commander or equivilant.

Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. Proven evidence of exceptional performance in a command position
2. Prior experience in the Infilrator Wing.

You must address each criteria with supporting evidence. Simply saying "Yes, I can do that" will not be enough. Outline examples of experience and situations for each point. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position. You will be expected to perform the core duties as listed and if you are unwilling to perform them, don't bother applying. You must include at least three (3) references in your application. At least one must be a current or former superior (preferably current). Ensure you have their permission first. If it is found out that you have used someone's name without their permission, your application will be disqualified. Applications should be directed to the Fleet Commander (fc@emperorshammer.org) and Executive Officer (xo@emperorshammer.org) with the subject "Application for IWCOM".

Weekly Fiction

Continued from the Wing Report

***
ISD II Relentless, Command Bridge, Day 2, 1000 Hours Zulu
"- Captain, ship will exit hyperspace in a few minutes."
"- Good, notify the Commodore that we will be exiting hyperspace."
"- Aye, aye."
Commodore BubbaX received the notification on his quarters. He have been writing his report. Except for that incident involving a short circuit, there has been no irregularities to report. Some minor problems have been dealt with, like ships trying to run as his ship approached, just to be disabled, boarded and some minor illegal cargo found. Reports from High Command have again stressed the need to find the source of these smugglers. And it seamed they were working with a pirate fleet that already made strikes on transports and Line Cruisers. This was unacceptable in the EH space. But he could find nothing that would lead him to the bandits. He suspected there was someone informing them about the movements of the fleet. It was the only explanation for all this. He was sure High Command had also been aware of this.
But he had other problems to deal with. Recently a lot of newcomers have begun to serve in the Relentless. The Fighter Pilots were all above suspect, but some
hundreds of minor personnel have also been received. Engineering and Fighter Bay mostly. Any of them could cause tremendous damage to the ship, if they wanted to. That was something the Relentless Stormtroopers and Fleet Troopers had to be very aware of. An explosion in some more sensible area, and the operations of his ship would be affected.
"- Admiral, this is the Bridge Captain speaking. There was an explosion in the Engineering area. Four causalities. We have lost no major systems, but we have under-shot our jump."
"- I will go immediately to the Bridge. Raise Red Alert status. I want the Fighters on stand-by to deploy immediately. Cancel all leaves and get me the ship in full combat readiness."
"- Aye, aye, Sir."
Rear-Admiral BubbaX raised from his seat and though how sometimes he hated to be right.
ISD II Relentless, Fighter Bay, Day 2, 1010 Hours Zulu.
"-Scramble, scramble, scramble!" - Spoke CMDR Sarn to his comm.
The three Flights of the Sword Squadron acknowledged and in no time his TIEs had been un-hooked from the TIE-Launcher system, and his Boats elevated from the launching bay. As his own ship exited the Bay Door, he could see the red lights blinking outside, and could guess what the PA system was announcing. The ground crews hastened to get the remaining fighters of the Wing IX ready to be deployed. He ordered his Squadron to take a defencive formation around the ship. He didn't knew why the jump had been so abruptly aborted and he wondered what could have happened.
"- Attention Sword Squadron, this is Sword Lead, eyes open! Stay sharp! Report all contacts to me."
"- Sword Lead, this is Sword 3-2..."
"- Yes, Sword 3-2?"
"- Boss, you should come over here see this..."
CMDR Sarn circled targets until he found LCM Ironfist ship. He was On he aft section of the Relentless. He directed his TIE Defender to the Missile Boat, as he arrived, he manoeuvred the ship to the same direction that Sword 3-2 was.
"- What is it Sword..."
He didn't finished. A still glowing, perfect hole connected the ship inside to space. Some fires inside... Debris had come out, and now gathered near the fresh-made entrance. Looked like someone had poked the mighty vessel with a giant point. Proton Grenades and some kind of incendiary device. It could be worse. Someone had hurt the Relentless. And that someone was going to be sorry...

Orders

Rectuit! Recruit, recruit, recruit, recruit! :P

Now to help you, I've put together a few tips on how to get recruits:

* Look for Cadets with AIM because they are easier to contact
* Don't bother contacting Cadets who have been in training for more than three weeks
* Don't bother emailing SLs, LTs, or anyone over the rank of VA in the reserves
* Look for reservists who have been on the Relentless in the past
* Post recruiting messages on any SW forums you come across

These are just a few tips...use them wisely :P

Closing Thoughts

I'd like to say a few words about the ImpStorm IV MP match yesterday...I'm not going to go into much detail. Instead, I'm just going to say that I was *very* displeased with the way it was handled. The ATF has withdrawn it's forces from the war game, and AD Krax has filed a formal complaint about it. If you want to know what happened, just ask me, as I'm not going to get into it here.

Great work this week guys! I look forward to a long and productive relationship :)

Fly, recruit, have fun, and stay safe!

<SALUTE>

Respectfully,

Rear Admiral BubbaX
