VANGUARD AND FLEET NEWS


The scene is set, a roaring fire, the smell of chestnuts, the decorations and of course the Christmas tree. Yes Sickys office was in full swing for Yule tide, sitting in a Relaxo-COM Chair (tm) Sicky with a flagon of ale said:

"Gather round boys and girls, for this old man has a seasonal tale to tell"

He opened a big book and began his telling:

"Twas the season of goodwill, even on the VAN the cheery season was in full swing, even the drunkards propping up the bar had holly and decorations on their uniform, but not all was not cheery, number had fallen on the famous ship mainly due to the evil enemy RL, and maybe even silly Rebel plots.
As usual the VAN had their weekly gaggle of medals, promo's and general merriment......so what was the solution?"

Sicky closed the big dusty book

"The solution my friends is up to us all, we are the ones that can increase our numbers, make our squadrons better by listening to our pilots and giving them what they want in their squadron, and by keeping our CMDR's informed of our RL situation because in the end we can't fight RL can we?
Recruit my friends, and keep up the VAN morale and maybe we'll all get our Christmas wishes:)

CA:SO Ziggy has been appointed SO. He had the most appropriate combination of experience and personality for the position. As such, he can now rightfully carry the Bloodied Baton of SOness(tm).

Wing IV WC sought

AD Proton is accepting applications for Wing IV WC following the resignation of LC Mayk Wolverine. The application period is open through Wednesday, Dec. 10. Mail apps to hullbreach@warpmail.net

Requirements include:

-- Must have held the position of CMDR in the TC for no less than four months in one tour. -- Must have passed SM/2 or SM/3.
-- Be able to reply to mails and process BSFs within 24-48 hrs.
-- Report on time each week.
-- Must be willing to handle a great deal of admin work to aid the running of the wing.
-- Be able to motivate pilots and keep the CMDRs working to improve their squads and performance.
-- Must be able to create and run various competitions for the wing.
-- Applicant must be 100% dedicated to the wing to see goals achieved,and have the will to drive to that end.
-- No serious HCI convictions in the past 12 months.
-- A sincere sense of duty and loyalty to the SSSD Sovereign and a commitment to participation in the activities of the Brotherhood of Sovereign Flag Officers.
-- Strict adherence to the TC standing orders and Sovereign policy.

Add your future plans for the wing, and what steps you'll take to encourage recruitment, activity and keep things running smoothly.

As is my usual final note: Flakes, cheaters, resume-padders and anger-management cases need not apply.


EH Census: Update

So far I'd like to state that the Logistics Staff has been very pleased with the response we've gotten thusfar from the EH Census project.

With that in mind I'd like to remind everyone that new questions are still being added periodically and that we'd greatly appreciate it if participants could make an effort to try to login at least once per week until the Census has been completed.

This will allow all members to answer questions that have been added since they initially took the Census. Already I know we've added around 10-15 questions in various areas, and more are still coming as support for the Census grows and more officers request questions added.

If anyone knows a question that should be added, please email the Logistics Officer with your questions so we can evaluate and add them as needed.

Again, thank you all for making this project a success!

SickMans Silly Xmas Comps

Yes from now until December 25th, i'm going to go doo-lally with comps, they maybe silly, they may be strange, they may even be normal, but i'm going to be giving out comps here & there upto that present and pie day (XMAS!!!!!!!!)

COMP#1 Sicky needs new Ship, yep the old booze-hound has been VANCOM over a year now and wants a new ship and a new name for her, so get thinking and sent your idea's to the drunk, IS-BR to the winner!

COMP#2 Ye Christmas Tale, write a sicky a yule tide Christmas tale, about anything, life on the VAN, that Star Wars story you've been itching to write.......anything, IS-SR to the best, IS-BR to the runner-up

COMP#3 Sicky needs a office for the VAN Website, you graphics dudes get to work, think of what Sickys office would look like and make a drawing/graphic that will be displayed on the website, IS-SR to the winner

COMP#4 More Graphics!!!!! Banners, buttons, little flashy thingys, pictures,anything and everything is needed for the website, i want this website to have a bit of something from everyone, you got a cool drawings graphic? send it to Sicky, it WILL be displayed on the website:)
