In a galaxy not so far away.............

VANGUARD Episode II - Return of the VETS !!!!!


In a time of sorrow when the dreaded RL had taken their best to the reserves, the Vanguard yearned for it's better days when they were the best of the fleet and where beer flowed freely and awards were a plenty. Even though the beer continued to flow on the old girl the need for more pilots was essential to bring back more glory, and then at a time of the year when wishes are granted and even more beer is drunk, a wish was granted for a old drunk and his crew...............

A BIG FAT SICKY welcome back to all the retuning VETS to the Vanguard, it's been a excellent week with the return of the legends of the VAN back home......Draxy and Jensen, Jer Stryker, Thom Zack, Erryc Lasitter and Symon Ilmen'Nost. Plus a big hello to new member LT Shagen, all this happening within a week, i tell you all Sicky had to have a few lie downs and drinks:)

Yes a wish has come true for a old drunk, i have my family back on the VAN, the old girl is filling up again and glory awaits us, now lets have a few beers or i'll start blubbering again.......

Overview
The Communications Officer (COMM) is responsible for the operation of the EH's communication media, such as IRC, message boards, etc. Maintaining ops and ban lists in primary EH channels is a core duty of this position.

Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills.
2. An acceptable level of online presence in online media such as message boards, IRC, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a wide range of EH personnel.

Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. Prior experience in IRC channel management (ie. 400 or higher access)

You must address each criteria with supporting evidence. Simply saying "Yes, I can do that" will not be enough. Include specific examples of your experience. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position. You will be expected to perform the core duties of the position to an acceptable level. You must include at least three (3) references. At least one of these must be a former or current superior, preferably current. Ensure you have their permission first, as your application will be seen in a negative light if you have not gained their permission. Applications should be sent to the Fleet Commander and Executive Officer with the subject "Application for Communications Officer".

SquadFirst+ Bug Search

Here we go! Nearly six months after I should've done this, I'm trying to get all the bugs in the SquadFirst+ software worked out. I've set up a bug tracker at http://ortho.minos.net, and I encourage anyone with a bug to post it. Also, if you've fixed my code, please post a bug report with the buggy code and what you changed. In the end I hope to have a good script that won't have to be changed for a while. Please be sure to include all settings information (i.e. roster level and roster type) so I can properly assess the problem.

SickMans Silly Xmas Comps

Yes from now until December 25th, i'm going to go doo-lally with comps, they maybe silly, they may be strange, they may even be normal, but i'm going to be giving out comps here & there upto that present and pie day (XMAS!!!!!!!!)

COMP#1 Sicky needs new Ship, yep the old booze-hound has been VANCOM over a year now and wants a new ship and a new name for her, so get thinking and sent your idea's to the drunk, IS-BR to the winner!

COMP#2 Ye Christmas Tale, write a sicky a yule tide Christmas tale, about anything, life on the VAN, that Star Wars story you've been itching to write.......anything, IS-SR to the best, IS-BR to the runner-up

COMP#3 Sicky needs a office for the VAN Website, you graphics dudes get to work, think of what Sickys office would look like and make a drawing/graphic that will be displayed on the website, IS-SR to the winner

COMP#4 More Graphics!!!!! Banners, buttons, little flashy thingys, pictures,anything and everything is needed for the website, i want this website to have a bit of something from everyone, you got a cool drawings graphic? send it to Sicky, it WILL be displayed on the website:)
