Intrepid Info and News

________________________________________

Greetings Intrepid, and
welcome to another weekly report from the COM!

Today I was openly criticized
in my own IRC channel because my COM report wasn’t out before the BGCOM Report
or the TC Meeting. I won’t go into who was doing the criticizing, mostly
because I don’t want to go dragging name(s) around, but suffice it to say that
I totally disagree with what was said, and for good reason. The purpose of my
reports is to get as much vital and useful information out to my command staff
and pilots each week as I can. Therefore, waiting until after the weekly TC
Meeting allows me the opportunity to be sure you all have the most up-to-date
info and news. I’m sure even the FO would agree that is the primary purpose
behind these reports. I send out the info to you all, and your WC and CMDR’s
are responsible throughout the week to remind you of that critical info and
news. Therefore I trust I won’t be hearing any more unwarranted criticism in
the future about why my reports come out on a Sunday after the TC Meeting. I
think I’ve made my point clear on this matter. :P

CMDR’s, recently you were
notified that it is time once again for the EH 8th Anniversary
Awards! So far I am aware of only one CMDR, CM Blade, who has submitted his
recommendations to the WC. Get those recommendations submitted ASAP or your
pilots will not be considered for the awards!

The COO returned from his RL
business trip and quickly caught up on his backlog of LoC’s and DFC’s! Over 15
LoC’s were awarded to pilots from recent MP competitions, but no DFC’s so far.
In any case the Combat Award reports clearly showed one thing, we don’t have
enough MP activity flowing right now. CMDR’s, you are responsible for ensuring
that your pilots are informed and motivated to fly MP. Therefore I suggest you
get busy and do your duty in this area from now on.

This last week one of our
great pilots transferred to the ISD-II Vanguard. LCM Praetorian has been
promoted to the rank of Commander and was appointed as the new CMDR of Python
Squadron! I want to wish Prae the best of success in his new position, and on
behalf of the Intrepid offer our congratulations as well!

Krayt Squadron is still in
need of a new FL for Flight II. Anyone interested should contact CM Phantom ( href="mailto:ge_phantom2002@yahoo.com">ge_phantom2002@yahoo.com)
immediately. I believe I overheard a conversation on IRC earlier today in which
CM Phantom stated that she had not yet received a single application for the
position. Surely there is at least one FM in Wing XIV that is ready to begin
their ascent to command and would like to be a FL. Apply today!

During the TC Meeting today I
mentioned that Asp Squadron also needed a new FL for Flight III. However, after
the meeting CPT Linoge informed me that someone had been chosen, although he
neglected to inform me who had been chosen. :P

A Ship-wide AWOL Check is now
in effect. Every Squadron CMDR should have notified their FL’s and FM’s of this
and has their checks running at this time. Be warned, any pilot that fails to
report in by the deadline and has failed to show any activity in the past 3-4
weeks will be AWOL’d without hesitation! Remember, if you’re AWOL’d you
will be removed from not only your respective Squadron and Wing Roster, but
from the TC as well. Which means that if you decide later on to once again
serve in the TC you’ll have to start all over again on M/PLT Daedaleus. Report
in immediately!

Most of you have noticed that
our website is currently inoperative. This is due to problems from the current
host server. CPT Drako and I have discussed alternatives, and I believe he has
decided to try and get the site hosted on Minos. The only delay involves the
host responding back in a timely manner, which isn’t something that seems to be
likely. In the meantime know that we are on top of the problem and are
presently working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. ;)

This past week the BGCOM and
ASF Flags began working out details for the upcoming ASF-SC V! As soon as the
BGCOM decides that the details have been fully worked out then MAJ Tissaya
Argat and I will release them to everyone and will ensure they are properly
posted on our MB’s and our website, if a new server has been found to host the
site by that time. :P

Over the coming weeks I will
be conducting a number of Alert Drills. These drills will determine our
combat/battle readiness, and also determine where our areas of opportunity
exist within each Squadron. With the completion of each drill the WC and I will
inform the CMDR’s of what needs to be done and they will then set out to
correct this problem. The next drill will then determine if any progress is
evident, and if not then other steps will be taken to overcome the situation.
We are a Ship of War in the Emperor Hammer’s Fleet, and we should be prepared
to do battle against all of our enemies, whether they are internal or external!

This past week four new
missions were released created by three pilots from Wing XIV! Congrats to LCM
Chris Cox, LCM Zhaim Jifarr and MAJ Gidda! They have each been awarded the
appropriate Medal of Tactics by the TAC.

At this time I am working or
planning several projects for the Intrepid. The first is a series of internal
competitions, but these will be activated shortly after the upcoming ASF-SC V
so as not to create any conflicts. The second project involves your COM
breaking new ground in mission creation in the hopes of beginning a new series
of missions that show the Intrepid and her pilots in action in combat, patrols,
etc. Anyone interested in joining me in this project are welcome. The third
project involves creating a manual about the operations, rules, and etc. of the
ISD-II Intrepid. This will be used as a reference guide for the crew of the
Intrepid and will outline what is expected of them during their service aboard
her.

This week I expect to reach a
new FCHG Rank, Archon. As I recently mentioned to the other ASF Flags, I will
be putting forth a full effort in the upcoming ASF-SC V to reach Templar,
thereby contributing my fair share of activity and points to this mighty Ship.
I invite everyone to do their part as well and boost those FCHG ranks!

Competitions

_______________________________________

Xunami Wings -Tactical
Office is proud to announce new EH-wide competition. Our main goal is to create
a set of battles showing REAL cooperation between multiple subgroups. In other
words, EH working as a whole.

You people will have to create CABs
(Combined Arms Battles) and send them to Tactical Officer.

Competition will proceed in two phases.

Phase 1:

Creation of plotlines (used later to make
CABs). This is phase for fiction writers, etc. You create detailed plotline for
your battle (story) and submit it to TAC. My staff will judge it. Awards like
in FCHG competition: IS-PR (or adequate subgroup medal) for best plotline and
so on. (also every plotline writer will receive CoS for his work).

Phase 2:

Creation of CAB battles based on plotlines
submitted. Only those who participated in Phase 1, will be allowed to join
Phase 2. Awards just like in Phase 1.

Important notes:

1. Teams are allowed, if they are multi subgroup
it's even better. Team can have 4 members max. (2 writers, 2 designers).

2. CAB rules must be followed. At least 3
SGs used. Also, your battle must show real cooperations between SGs. (for
example Tie Corps uses information gathered by Intel, Infiltrator Wing secured
HFs capture operations, etc).

Deadlines:

Phase 1 ends on December 18th 2002.

Phase 2 ends on December 31st 2002.

Winners will be announced on EH Birthday, January 7th.

Also. Best CAB will be marked as winner of
CAB competition, and members working on this CAB will be allowed to include
short not in ID Lines.

More details:

I will be posting answers to FAQs on
Mission Creation MB. Competition thread: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?p=49850#49850
