Intrepid Info and News

________________________________________

Greetings Intrepid, and
welcome to another weekly report from the COM!

Another week and more
activity to report, which is always something that any COM looks forward to
because it also means that people are active and things are getting done!

The Ship-wide AWOL Check
that I ordered has ended. CMDR’s, if you have not yet submitted your results to
the WC and COM you need to do so ASAP. Krayt and Diamondback Squadrons are both
reporting a total of 5 pilots that failed to report in. CMDR’s seek these
people out one last time and give them 48 hours to respond. If they still fail
to respond then notify the WC about possible removal to the Reserves or for
full AWOL.

DB will be losing a great pilot this coming week as LCM Zhaim Jifarr is forced to transfer to the
Reserves for RL work related reasons. Zhaim, I sure hope you are able to locate
a local job in the near future so that you won’t be on the road all the time.
Wing XIV will greatly miss your presence and activity. You’ll always be welcome
back in our ranks as a pilot and friend! :)

Pilots, our IRC Channel is
#WingXIV on the Undernet Server. If you don’t yet have a copy of mIRC, go to href="http://www.mirc.com/">www.mirc.com and download a free copy today!
Those of us that are on IRC can tell you that we often have a great time and
discuss a great many things. In many cases you can often get early notification
on a great many things before they are even announced through emails or
reports. So come online and join your fellow Wing XIV pilots!

LCM Justin is making some new
XWA battles/missions to be added to the EH Battle Center. He’s asking for
anyone with an idea for a plotline to contact him. Mostly we’re looking for new
ideas for missions involving the Intrepid, her Battle Group, and of course our
own pilots and Squadrons.

I’d like to welcome two new
pilots to the ISD-II Intrepid: SL’s Nova Killer and Spade! Nova joins Cobra
2-2, and Spade joins Copperhead 2-3. I’d like to personally welcome them to our
great ship, and encourage them to join us on IRC as often as possible so that
we can get to know them. Btw pilots, I’ll be expecting to see both of you
reaching the rank of Lieutenant in the very near future! If you’re not sure
what you need to do to accomplish this, contact your CMDR or WC and they’ll
happily inform you on this. Hopefully though your CMDR has already contacted
you and given you this information. (hint, hint :P)

Yesterday the XO found the
problem regarding the Training section not automatically handling competition
requests. The problem has been corrected and competitions are now being
approved. Today alone I received approvals for four competitions on the
Intrepid, and I hope to see notifications of more in the near future. For an
update on current competitions see the Competitions section near the end of the
report.

The WC and I have selected
three pilots to be recommended for CoL’s for the EH’s 8th
Anniversary! This weekend I will be submitting those names to the BGCOM.

This past week I
reactivated our old Wing website located at http://intrepid.rawx.net/.
CMDR’s are allowed to access the News section to post news and information. Any
CMDR that needs the login information should contact the COM. You’ll also find
that the Top Aces and weekly WC and COM reports are being stored here as well.
I’ll also be updating the Competitions Section of the site with the current
competition info that I have received. This site will be temporary until CPT
Drako hears back from the administrator of the Minos.net server regarding the
permanent hosting of our current website. More details will be given as they
are made available.

XvT WoW is currently
underway and will run until 2 PM (EST) on 12/27/02. Go out there and support
the EH, and while you’re there try to see if you can’t recruit us some new MP
pilots! :)

A reminder to all CMDR’s
that you must upload your weekly reports to the TC database each week! I
will be doing random checks to ensure compliance.

The Intrepid’s resident FMC
Doc is presently standing by to revive any crewmembers that succumb to shock
upon reading the following announcement. This week the COM reached a new FCHG
Rank, Archon! Why is this so shocking? Because it has typically been the habit
of former COM’s to have little to no flight activity whatsoever, and in the
past two weeks your COM has flown a total of 22 battles and 6 Free Missions to
reach this new FCHG Rank. Needless to say, if the COM can put forth this much
activity with everything he has to do, you can well imagine he expects the same
from his pilots. Anyone catching my drift yet? :P

A reminder to all Squadrons
that you are now permitted to have a Squadron Patch for your Uniforms. I’d like
to see every Squadron with one by January 10th at the latest. Not
only are these a chance to show pride in your Squadron, but it also helps make
your uni’s a little more attractive. ;)

CMDR’s, a reminder to all
of you that you are personally responsible for ensuring that your pilots are
recommended for promotions and medals. CoB’s should be awarded as soon as a
pilot has completed 30 official EH missions, and all SL’s should be promoted to
LT within a week of their arrival to your Squadron. I also expect all CMDR’s to
become familiar with the promotion guidelines regarding positions and time
requirements. The WC and COM shouldn’t have to go through the roster all the
time to be sure people are being promoted. Also, I want everyone to remember
that promotions are not automatic when you have served the minimum amount of
time required. Promotions are also based on activity and overall involvement in
the Squadron and within the TIE Corps. If you only fly one battle a month don’t
be shocked when your next promotion is held up because of your low activity. :P

The ISD-II Intrepid will be
conducting a full Alert Drill very soon. I expect to see 100% participation
from Wing XIV. Any Squadron that fails to provide 100% participation should be
prepared to answer personally to the COM.

CMDR’s just a friendly
reminder that all MSE’s are due to the WC by January 2nd! Anyone
reporting late will have a lot of explaining to do. :P

Competitions

Xunami Wings -
Tactical Office is proud to announce new EH-wide competition. Our main goal is to create
a set of battles showing REAL cooperation between multiple subgroups. In other
words, EH working as a whole.

You people will have to create CABs
(Combined Arms Battles) and send them to Tactical Officer.

Competition will proceed in two phases.

Phase 1:

Creation of plotlines (used later to make
CABs). This is phase for fiction writers, etc. You create detailed plotline for
your battle (story) and submit it to TAC. My staff will judge it. Awards like
in FCHG competition: IS-PR (or adequate subgroup medal) for best plotline and
so on. (also every plotline writer will receive CoS for his work).

Phase 2:

Creation of CAB battles based on plotlines
submitted. Only those who participated in Phase 1, will be allowed to join
Phase 2. Awards just like in Phase 1.

Important notes:

1. Teams are allowed, if they are multi subgroup
it's even better. Team can have 4 members max. (2 writers, 2 designers).

2. CAB rules must be followed. At least 3
SGs used. Also, your battle must show real cooperations between SGs. (for
example Tie Corps uses information gathered by Intel, Infiltrator Wing secured
HFs capture operations, etc).

Deadlines:

Phase 1 ends on December 18th 2002.

Phase 2 ends on December 31st 2002.

Winners will be announced on EH Birthday, January 7th.

Also. Best CAB will be marked as winner of
CAB competition, and members working on this CAB will be allowed to include
short not in ID Lines.

More details:

I will be posting answers to FAQs on
Mission Creation MB. Competition thread: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?p=49850#49850
