Ø ISD-II Intrepid XvT MP Double Elimination Comp has kicked off with 14 pilots. Copperhead, Krayt and Diamondback Squadrons each only had one pilot sign-up to participate, therefore MAJ Archon, LCM Phantom, and MAJ Azazel are already slated to be awarded an IS-BW and now hold the honor of being their respective Squadron’s Top Gun Pilot! Asp, Viper and Cobra each have multiple pilots that are now slugging it out to determine who will receive the same honor for their respective Squadrons, and will go forward to compete at the Wing level along with Archon, Phantom and Azazel. To everyone participating, my congratulations on deciding to do so, and my best wishes for a quick victory! J

Ø COL Duncan Idaho informed me just before the TC Meeting today that he will have to resign as WC no later than the end of the month. His reasons are valid, and the BGCOM and I have already discussed this matter with him as well and told him that we hope that he’ll at least remain in Wing XIV as a FM until his RL issue is resolved. He has promised to give consideration to this idea and get back to us on it very soon. In the meantime I am once again shopping around for a new WC, but I am not presently accepting applications for the position. The BGCOM and I have discussed a few names, and I will be forwarding him my recommendations and thoughts for each one later tonight. After that we will discuss the Pro’s and Con’s for each person and then decide on a final candidate who will then be offered to the FO for approval. Duncan, we just barely had a chance to work together as COM and WC, but your long service to Wing XIV and the ISD-II Intrepid are greatly appreciated! I hope you’ll consider remaining with us and not give the Reserves another thought. ;)

Ø VA Darksaber hosted a Motto/Nick Comp for the ASF, and the final results are in! New Motto: “From the depths of Hell our vengeance ascends!”; New Nick: Bringers of Vengeance. Congratulations to the following Officers for their medals!

Ø The BGCOM is also hosting a Site Creation Competition in the hopes of allowing some talented member of the ASF the opportunity to create/develop/maintain the new official website for the ASF! All submitted entries must meet the following criteria:
1. Be created in PHP and MySQL
2. Must be hosted by the creator. Minos may host it for you, but you have to contact them personally about that possibility.
3. The creator will be required to maintain it since they will be more familiar with the coding and attributes of the new site and database.
4. Must be submitted no later than 20/12/2002.
5. Submissions must be sent to CA:IO VA Bevel Leeson (skinner@axelero.hu) also CC the BGCOM.

Here are the details for the new website:
1. Automated News posting system. Possibly have the ability to schedule news releases in advance.
2. Multi-user login system.
3. Separate area for each Ship so that they may insert a short intro about the Ship and its Squadrons.
4. Competition listing section.
5. History Archive where major events within the ASF may be stored, ie. Flag Officer changes, competition winners, etc.
6. Must be in agreement with all EH Internet Guidelines (http://www.ehnet.org/guidelines.php), EH Disclaimers, Privacy Policies, and Articles of War.

Medals to be awarded:
1. IS-GR to the best submission!
2. IS-SR to the 2nd best submission!
3. IS-BR to the 3rd best submission!

COM’s Comments

Again, I am still dismayed that only 14 pilots chose to participate in this great XvT MP Competition! As COM I will be expecting participation to improve with future competitions. Those that fail to participate in competitions will be noted and could be called to the proverbial “carpet” if they fail to improve. :P

Btw, I’m still willing to reward anyone that can come up with a new report template for my weekly COM reports! CPT Drako created the one I used as WC, but as COM I’d really like something new and awesome looking. The one I’m presently using was just something I threw together as a temporary measure. If you’re interested please contact me for further details. J

Copperhead and Cobra are in the process of planning a competition! I do hope that the pilots in each Squadron make a maximum effort to be involved and show pride for their respective Squadrons!

I encourage the pilots of each Squadron to seek out their respective FL’s and CMDR’s and provide ideas and thoughts concerning their Squadron. We are all a part of this great Ship, and therefore you should make the effort to present ideas, concerns and complaints to your superiors. I can’t fix what’s wrong if I don’t know about it. WC and CMDR’s, I do ask that I be notified on any issues, no matter how trivial. As COM I plan to keep a finger on the pulse of this Ship, so please remember to CC me just for notification.

People, once again I am forced to remind a few of you that I am NOT the Wing Commander now! Eight times this past week I was contacted about matters that had not been taken to the WC beforehand. However, in light of COL Idaho’s present situation, if he is unable to rapidly present an answer or solution to you, feel free to contact me and I’ll handle the problem.

I want to encourage very MP pilot on the Intrepid to participate in the ORWII (Outer Rim Wars II) held each Saturday in #outerrim on IRC. If you haven’t signed up, then go to http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/outerrim2/ and do so immediately. It only takes a few seconds to sign-up and they database automatically sends you your info by email to let you access the member features on the site. Then you can participate in the comp each week and support the EH! I finally had a chance to attend briefly last night, and lets just say that after I got done with a RS pilot he decided it was time to go play JKII instead. LOL Right now the EH is ranked #2 in overall standings, with the RS as #1. Lets get out there each Saturday and show why the EH and Imperial Pilots are truly better than the New Republic and their sorry Rebel Squadrons! :P

Ø HA Striker resigned as TAC this past week. This is a sad occasion since HA Striker has served the TAC Office and the EH with distinction. I wish HA Striker all the best in his future positions within the EH! J

“Greetings,

It has been several months now my performance as Tactical Officer has been degraded due to a new time-consuming RL job; I guess time has also lessened my enthusiasm to assume the position, with nearly 20 months overall of service as Tactical Officer, and three years and half of full time positions within the Tactical Office. During all these prosperous years, I have participated and directed all the changes I was willing to be done within this office, changes which have transformed an office dependent of the TAC's personality into an organized structure where team work has become a key word. I am proud of what has become the Tactical Office, but I guess it is becoming time to see some fresh blood at the head of this office, assuming also the fact that I can hardly assume the associated workload with my current situation.

I had planned to resign in past September when my new job began, with the eh.net server problem I delayed this decision to wait for the database to be fully operational, to not bring additional mess to an already troubled situation. The BSF system and associated FTP services are nearly fully working, and I will leave my position of Tactical Officer as soon as everything is working, and as soon as you have selected the future Tactical Officer. I do not plan to leave the EH, I guess I will continue my career in a less time-demanding position, where my competences and expertise can help the EH...

Ø This past week the EH was notified that LC Alyius Khan died tragically. As a result the position of CBX PROF is now open for applications and are being accepted until 29/11/2002. If you wish to apply for the position send your application to the TO, AD Mell Kerrigan (mell@tiecorps.org).

Ø The TO is still looking for a qualified TOA as well. If interested and you possess knowledge of PHP/ASP/HTML then send an application for the position to AD Mell Kerrigan (mell@tiecorps.org).

ISD-II Intrepid XvT MP Double Elimination Competition! – The rules are simple. The competition starts at the Squadron level where all registered pilots will compete against their fellow pilots in a series of double elimination rounds until only one remains standing as the Top Gun Squadron Pilot! Then the Top Squadron Pilots, one from each Squadron, will then face off in a series of double elimination rounds until only one remains standing, the ISD Intrepid Top Gun Pilot! Awards for the competition are listed below:

Iron Star w/Silver Wings - ISD Intrepid Top Gun Pilot
Iron Star w/ Bronze Wings – Individual Squadron Top Gun Pilot (6 total medals)

The competition has begun, and the first round of matches is now underway! I’ll keep everyone posted on the results as each round is completed. J

Copperhead vs. Cobra Squadron Competition! – Details have not yet been announced, but I have been informed that this competition will begin in the near future!
