COM Chatter
Welcome to a special holiday addition of the Van news. Its the U.S 4th of July holiday of Independence. I know not all of you celebrate this holiday but it is an excuse to mix up some coctails so I do encourage you to stop by my office and have one on the COM. Now heres the rest of the story....

MSE's are due now so cmdrs do get them in asap so I can get everyone their just rewards for a decent months acitivity. Hopefully well see more in the following months especially if we can increase our numbers somewhat.



Ship News
I will be hosting a competition in the #EHCOC on July 10th, thats this following Saturday.  Your cmdrs have all the infromation on it but if you dont get please check our message board or email me personally and ill shoot you the info myself.  We look for a good turnout as I invited all TC squadrons via email so do show up and represent your ship.

Our WC, Major Praetorian is still MIA and I havent heard a peep. Im doing some checking on this and should have more information to follow next week. In the meantime please cmdrs do send me all your bsf's and I will try to process them quickly.

Major Gustan has resigned the Cmdr seat of Wasp Squadron. Applications are being excepted at this time. Please send them to myself at Tombtrooper@aol.com. Hopefully well see Gustan back with us soon.


ASF News
The good COM of the Intrepid, VA Frodo has retired from his command. I dont know all the details behind this but I do wish Frods luck and hope to see him return to active duty one day soon. Do not send apps at this time.

Everyone should attempt to send AD Khadgar and graphics and fiction they can put their hands on for our paper the Aggressor. Im sure awards will fall from above for all that do. I know if you dont those photos I tend to snap of our crew in their most compromising postions may find their way into his hands as replacements.

Notes on XvT/BoP Mission Flying.

Many of our XvT and BoP missions give you the option to pick the Flight Group you fly with, meaning that you don't always need to take the first FG selected by default.
If you see other craft types and or flights/squadrons at the bottom of the briefing you can drag and drop your pilot name to them.
This generally offers you more choice in craft, warheads and tactics. (1 FG might be fighters, the other bombers for example.) Additionally many of these missions are enabled for Co-Op flying (as usually noted in their readme.txt). To do this when using EHBL, move the MISSION.LST out of your /Misc folder into /Train. Then all players launch via EHBL, one hosts a MP game and the others join. Select the mission in "Training" and there you go. (Make sure all players have the same game version.)
Co-Op flying is a lot of fun, does not create more lag then a melee and afterwards each of the players can just have their pilotfiles BSFed. (I've flown a few battles like this myself.) Obviously this makes a mission easier (no stupid AI wingmen), however it can mean that your scores are lower because the amount of targets is devided over the players. (Some battles compensate for this by giving more targets if there are more then 1 or 4 players.)
