Intrepid Info and News

Greetings Intrepid, and welcome to a new report!!

The ASF-SC V is still running and right now the Int and the Mutt are still slugging it out for 1st place! Lets get busy and flood the BGCOM with a ton of points and leave the Mutt in our wake where they belong! 11 pilots are still unaccounted for in the SC, but the CMDR's have been given some ideas and insight from their outstanding COM on how to work better with the pilots and fix these types of problems. Now it's just up to them to put these ideas to use and show that there is a reason why they were appointed as CMDR's. ;)

I want to thank the WC and CMDR's for ensuring that your reports are out on time and uploaded to the db. However, one CMDR still is outstanding on sending out a report for this past week, CM Chris Cox your report is now two days overdue and I haven't received any explanation for why your WSR still hasn't been received. Contact the WC and I immediately on this matter.

Welcome another new pilot to Wing XIV and Krayt Squadron! Congratulations to SL CrimsonFury, now LT CrimsonFury, on joining Krayt Squadron! Welcome aboard CF!! :)

Pilots I have said this so many times that I'm beginning to sound like a broken record. ALL activity submitted to the BGCOM during the SC MUST be CC'd to your CMDR/WC/COM! This past week I stated this multiple times, I even posted it on the #WingXIV IRC Channel topic, and still I have found pilots not following this simple instruction. Let me explain why it is so important for you to follow this order. Every activity you do during this month is recorded, not only for the SC but also in your Squadron WSR's and MSE. Which means that if your CMDR isn't CC'd then he/she can't add this info, which ultimately will greatly impact which MSE medal you could receive at the end of the month. Also since the Intrepid is also running its own independent scorecard, if the COM isn't CC'd then I won't receive the reply from the BGCOM informing you of how many points you were awarded for that activity. In other words don't come whining to us because your missing points on our scorecard or are getting a lower merit medal at MSE time. :P

This past week I sent out some prototype automated Battle Citation lists to every CMDR. From what I've seen so far only a couple of the CMDR's are making use of these Cit lists. Pilots, if you haven't received updated lists for battles to fly to help your Squadron earn more Cits contact your CMDR or Squadron Cit Officer quickly for this info. However you should have received these instructions already, so if you haven't then I would be asking your CMDR and/or Cit Officer why. :P

A new week is upon us, lets crank out some great activity and show the ASF why the Intrepid truly is the Flagship of the ASF!

TIE Corps Banner Design Competition
07:49 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
As many of you may have noticed, the TIE Corps' current front page banner, found here, shows the wrong page address. To correct this I've decided to hold a small competition to design a new banner, with the correct URL. This competition is open to all TC members, including Reservists. The size of the banner should be similar to the current one, but that's not particularly important. All submissions should be sent to spellfire@btinternet.com zipped and with the email subject "TC Banner".

You have until 26th January to get your submissions in. The designer of the selected banner will receive the Iron Star - Gold Ribbon, with further awards going to other submissions.

COO on Emergeny Leave
08:14 - VA Kyle Katarn [Kyle.Katarn@isdcolossus.com]
Due of catastrophic snow problems in Lower Austria, my Firefighter Unit is going to be reassigned to another Unit for 1 or 2 weeks to help them with their problems. I am able to join the Internet in that time, however I will not be able to do any COO work. For questions, please address my COOA, Autoris Maximus, LoC's are on hold till Sunday 20th! On Saturday, I am able to award LoC's and also to write a report.

XWA testers closed
14:00 - AD Marcin Szydlowski [pbmike@go2.pl]
I've received so many XWA applications that I don't have spots anymore. Do not send applications for XWA testers. But you can still join TIE or XvT/BoP team. But remember about few basic rules:
    • Always include your PIN
    • When applying for TIE, cc TCC:TIE, XvT, TCC:XvT. Also ALWAYS cc my Command Attache.
    • You must have current mission design course passed (for TIE it's TM, for XvT it's XTM/1 and for XWA it's XAM). Do not apply if you don't have this course passed.
    • I don't tolerate slacking in my office. It's not squadron. You fail to test, you are out.

Skipping missions!
07:35 - AD Marcin Szydlowski [pbmike@go2.pl]
Recently, I've noticed that many pilots are skipping missions and submit battles to their CMDR. Also, CMDR process BSFs even when plt file shows missions has been skipped. Hear now, loud and clear: This is not allowed.
Skipping missions is not considered cheating however, battles will be removed from your profile.
All battles are playable. If you have problem with patches, contact SCO Ender mBind.

Reporting of Violations
18:44 - FA Brad [bafordham@earthlink.net]
Remember to use the chain of command first when reporting complaints. Almost 2/3 of the time complaints are better handled by your superior officers. They can get them resolved faster since I have a large number of complaints and each of mine needs thorough investigations as I send people to the High Court of Inquisitors if I find them suspect. Also, do not send an entire log file of the channel. Including some of the log before incidents happened helps, but I do not need to see logs of several months before (or after) a violation.

Relentless Commodore
11:03 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The position of Relentless Commodore in the TIE Corps Battlegroups is still open to applications with the following requirements:

  • Absolute familiarity with Fleet Manuals and the Fleet Standing Orders
  • No serious AoW convictions, and none within the past 12 months
  • Command experience at a Wing Commander level or above, for no less than 4 consecutive months. Squadron Commanders will only be considered with 3 excellent references from superior Officers
  • Familiarity with Single and Multiplayer aspects of X-Wing: Alliance
  • Email response time of 24-36 hours.
  • Everything else detailed in the Training Manual

Applicants must possess the drive and motivation to work towards stabilizing the ship, plan future activities and work with fellow Flag Officers in the Battlegroup. The position of Commodore is not to be underestimated. If you have any doubts as to your suitability for the position, then don't waste our time by applying. Applications should be sent to Vice Admiral Krax and Fleet Admiral Priyum with the subject RelCOM. You may include up to 3 references, two of which must be from current or former superiors. Ensure that you have their permission before listing them.

Sovereign Wargame Begins!
05:58 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
The new SSSD Sovereign wargame, Operation Outrageous Fortune, begins Sunday, Jan. 19. It pits Team Blue Falcon (Wings I, IV and V) vs. Team Red Dragon (Wings II, III and Omega Squadron) in a war of space superiority, planetary conquest, continental invasion, and assassination and prisoner rescue missions. Sovereign personnel will wage the war on the TIE, XvT, XWA, Jedi Knight II and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds platforms. The Task Force Leaders are LC Frodo (Blue) and LC Jon Doyle (Red). The gamesmaster is WO/AD Pel.
