Greetings Intrepid, and welcome to the first report of 2003!!

I hope everyone had a great New Years! Now that 2003 is upon us it's time to look ahead and see what great things we can accomplish this year!

On January 1st (Earth time) the mighty ISD's from the Aggressor Strike Force and it's Elite Avenger Squadron reached their predetermined coordinates in space to begin the ASF's Supremacy Comp V! The purpose of the competition is to determine who the Best Pilot, Squadron and Ship are in the ASF, and also to decide which ISD will be the Flagship of the ASF during the first half of 2003! As the competition began the ISD's Grey Wolf and Intrepid began their assault runs, catching the ISD Vanguard in their crossfire and clearing the way for one less competitor during the first week of the competition. However, the Grey Wolf appears to have slipped an unexpected maneuver in on the Intrepid and now they have the early lead in the SC! But the Command Staff of the Int aren't to be underestimated and have managed to keep very close in the overall scoring with the Mutt! Tune in next week to see what happens next!! :)

Today the new CMDR of Asp Squadron as appointed by the FO! Congratulations to CM Chris Cox who now assumes the position! Chris, you've got some work ahead of you in the next couple of days. Number one priority being that your pilots need to get extremely active and help Wing XIV and the ISD-II Intrepid win the SC V! Hell of a thing to drop on a new CMDR, but I'm confident you're up to the task!! :)

CM Phantom has selected her new Flight Leader for Flight II. Congratulations to LCM Justin, formerly of Cobra Squadron!

RECRUITING!!! Need I say more? :P

Fly! SP and MP flying are critical during the SC! Rack up those FCHG and CR points and increase those FCHG and CR Rankings!!

Overall activity for the Intrepid is still showing signs of opportunity. CMDR's, any pilot that has failed to produce any activity so far in the SC V needs to be warned that I will AWOL them if they refuse to participate. This competition is mandatory, and if they can't be active and support their fellow wingmates, Squadron and Ship then they have no business on the Intrepid! The past 8 months the Intrepid has become known for its activity, as well as having fun and lots of friends. But I'm not above seeing a "friend" leave the Ship if they can't do more than just sit on IRC and be a void on the Roster. CMDR's do your part and get them active now!

Go do IWATS! AD Mike has asked that everyone take his XTM/2 course! It's a shameless thing for him to do, but it is a great course and it gives you a chance to learn how to do XvT mission creation! Yay! :)

A new CMDR for Asp Squadron has been selected by the WC and COM, but the decision still awaits approval from the FO! As soon as the decision is made the WC will announce the new CMDR! In the meantime Asp pilots are still instructed to submit all pilot files to the WC and/or COM. CC LCM Altar with all activity!

Starting now I'm instituting a new policy regarding Pilot Files. All pilot files must be labeled like the following example: 4370BopIW24 (TC Pin/Platform designation/SG or Free Mission designation/Battle or Mission Number). The TAC is having a tough time with HS files because pilots and CMDR's aren't ensuring they are properly labeled before submitting the pilot file to the TAC db. Therefore from now on all pilots on the Intrepid are to begin using this format in order to assist both the TAC and your CMDR with processing files.

Wing XIII has a new WC! Welcome COL Cardinal Khadgar "Khaddy" back to the Flag Ranks once again! :)

MSE's are still needed for Cobra and Copperhead Squadrons. MAJ Archon has been granted an extension until Jan. 6th, and CM Blade was asked to make some changes to his and resubmit it. I expect to see both in the inboxes of the WC and COM by midnight of Jan. 6th. If not then you can explain to your pilots why they didn't receive an MSE award for December. :P

I have submitted the CoL recommendations to the BGCOM for the EH's 8th Anniversary Awards!

A few revisions in the rules of the SC V have been approved by the ASF Flags. 1) Trivia points will now be limited to a total of 55 points per pilot. 2) Fiction: If you're doing a number of Chapters for your Fiction piece, best to submit it as one complete Fiction then as several separate pieces. Length is important, and submitting separate Chapters will not ensure that each Chapter is weighed according to the overall Fiction. Also, when using MS Word, remember to utilize the Spell Checker feature in order to ensure you are given as many points as possible. Improper grammar can affect your overall score. 3) COM's are going to tryout a test of collecting the points for all SP/MP/IWATS activity and submitting a report to the BGCOM regulary. The idea is to help alleviate some of the load of emails the BGCOM has to sort through and also to allow for easier updating of points on the SC V site.

As I'm sure most of you are aware by now, the SC V site was hacked sometime late Friday night. The ASF Flags will find out who the perpetrator was and he/she will be punished. This type of activity is not necessary, and it clearly failed to benefit anyone in the end. If it was a practical joke then whoever did it failed to reach the level of humor they were seeking. A lot of extra time and energy has been diverted from the SC in order to get the site backup to date and running again. If anyone has any information about who was responsible for this they should notify VA Darksaber immediately!

1. I'm still waiting for the Admin features on the Int site to be fixed so that it can be fully updated!

2. MAJ Hev Randrowan was removed as WC of Wing XIII this week due to being inactive. Just goes to show that even a Flag Officer will be removed if they don't keep up the activity. :P

3. COL Khadgar has returned to the Flag Ranks as the new WC of Wing XIII! Welcome back Khaddy! :)

4. The TAC is looking for new testers. Requirements can be found on Mission Creation Message Board. Send applications to TCC:TIE/CPT Mark Schueler, cc AD Mike and his CA. If you need more info, ask Mark.

5. There are two Tac competitions at the moment. You can find details here and here. Also, remember about Xunami Wings. The TAC would like to see some nice CABs on his desk very soon!

6. Due to low number of submissions, the TAC has decided to move the deadline to next Sunday, January 12th. So you have an additional week to submit your CABs to the TAC. Meantime winners of Phase 1 will be announced on the EH's Birthday.

7. ASF-SC V is in full swing, and so far the GW and the Intrepid are slugging it out for #1!

8. One word: DO NOT include patches in your zip file when submitting a custom mission for approval by the TAC. Place the info about the required patch in the "Patch" Readme.txt that your battle requires and give the link to SCO site.

Competitions

Xunami Wings - Tactical Office is proud to announce new EH-wide competition. Our main goal is to create a set of battles showing REAL cooperation between multiple subgroups. In other words, EH working as a whole.

You people will have to create CABs (Combined Arms Battles) and send them to Tactical Officer.

Competition will proceed in two phases.

Phase 1:

Creation of plotlines (used later to make CABs). This is phase for fiction writers, etc. You create detailed plotline for your battle (story) and submit it to TAC. My staff will judge it. Awards like in FCHG competition: IS-PR (or adequate subgroup medal) for best plotline and so on. (also every plotline writer will receive CoS for his work).

Phase 2:

Creation of CAB battles based on plotlines submitted. Only those who participated in Phase 1, will be allowed to join Phase 2. Awards just like in Phase 1.

Important notes:

1. Teams are allowed, if they are multi subgroup it's even better. Team can have 4 members max. (2 writers, 2 designers).

2. CAB rules must be followed. At least 3 SGs used. Also, your battle must show real cooperations between SGs. (for example Tie Corps uses information gathered by Intel, Infiltrator Wing secured HFs capture operations, etc).

Deadlines:

Phase 1 ends on December 18th 2002.

Phase 2 ends on January 12th 2002.

Winners for Phase 1 will be announced on EH Birthday, January 7th.

Also. Best CAB will be marked as winner of CAB competition, and members working on this CAB will be allowed to include short not in ID Lines.

More details: I will be posting answers to FAQs on Mission Creation MB. Competition thread: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?p=49850#49850
