Intrepid Info and News

Greetings Intrepid, and welcome to the last report of 2002 from the COM!!

You may have noticed that my report is out late this week. The reason is simple;
I was out of town on a family trip. Enough said on that eh? hehe

MAJ Tissaya Argat is on temporary leave until 1/2/2003, but may be able to be
online at times while she’s away. In the meantime all CMDR’s send your pilot
files to the COM for processing, or feel free to spread them amongst yourselves
while I’m away for the weekend. If you send them to me be warned that they won’t
be processed until Sunday.

RECRUITING!!! Need I say more? :P

Speaking of needing new pilots. I could not go without telling everyone about
the loss of a great Diamondback pilot this past week. LCM Zhaim Jifarr was
forced to transfer to the Reserves due to RL matters. Zhaim has been a truly
exceptional pilot through his activity and commitment he showed to his Squadron
and Wing! He has promised to return to us as soon as the opportunity arises. In
the meantime I’d like to offer my own personal thanks and acknowledgement to a
fine officer, pilot and friend!

VA Darksaber has announced that the ASF-SC V has been approved. All of you who
have joined us since ASF-SC IV are in for a real thrill as each ISD and Avenger
Squadron fights it out to become the new Flagship of the Aggressor Strike Force!
The ASF-SC V starts on Jan. 1st, so only a few days left to get ready for some
really bloody action. Details about the comp can be found here at
http://www.minos.net/~autoris/! CMDR’s are required to read it over fully, and
should also ensure that each of your pilots are aware of the details and answer
any questions before the SC starts. LET’S GET READY TO
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go do IWATS! SA Astatine is working a plan to award members who are active in
taking and completing IWATS courses!

Thanks to CPT Drako the Intrepid’s new home can now be found at
http://intrepid.tiecorps.net! Great job Drako!

Applications are being accepted for the now vacant Asp CMDR position. Send apps
to MAJ Tissaya Argat, Ccing RA Wil Striker and VA Darksaber. Applications are
being accepted until 1/2/2003 at which time I hope MAJ Argat will be able to
make a decision and get someone in place to lead Asp for the ASF-SC V!

LCM Altar is the A-CMDR of Asp Squadron until a new CMDR is appointed. All Asp
pilots must report in to Altar and all Squadron related business and pilot files
should be CC’ed to him as well!

Speaking of MSE’s, CMDR’s these are due no later than Jan. 2nd! If you need more
time you had best seek out authorization, otherwise I expect them to arrive on
the WC’s desk no later than that date!

CMDR’s, you now have the password to the Intrepid News Page. Make use of it! :P

A recent survey done by the EH/XO has determined that the ASF is the only BG to
actually grow in the last few months. However a simple look at the roster shows
that the Intrepid is now the smallest Wing in the ASF. I expect every CMDR and
pilot to do their part to ensure that we don’t remain in this position for long!

CMDR’s, your reports are due out by Friday of each week. Unless you have
approval from the WC to submit them later than that I shouldn’t see them
slipping into my inbox on Saturday or Sunday from now on. Yes the holidays can
make a mess of timelines, but it is still your responsibility to either get the
reports out on time or at the very least to inform your superior(s) that it will
be out a day or two later than required.

All pilot files sent to me over the weekend will be submitted as soon as this
report is sent out. I apologize for the delay, but unfortunately my wife and
daughter don’t try to stay on the same timeline as I do when we travel. LOL

ASF/TC News

1. Intrepid roster has been updated to now list the new home of the Intrepid
Website! (Note: The Wing URL will be updated as soon as MAJ Argat returns!)

2. Some updates have been applied to the TIE Corps site.
· The news archives
page now works
· Competitions listed on the news page are now up to date

· The competitions center has been expanded to allow listing of each type,
as well as the top 10 approved competition submitters
· Approved
competitions are now listed on your profile, if you have any

3. Congratulations to LC PhoenixMan for being appointed as the new WC of Wing
XX!

4. The database has been updated to correctly reflect the new LoC system. In
addition, the code now also correct calculates the number of addons you have, as
opposed to just listing the highest one and your total of victories after it. A
similar update has been applied to the display of DFCs too.

5. Thanks to AD Darkhill, the SCO has able to release two new patches for X-Wing
vs. TIE Fighter: the TIE Vanguard and the B-Wing. Both come with additional
Flight group colours for the EH, ASF and respectively the DB for the TIE
Vanguard and the IW for the B-Wing. The T/D and MIS patches have also been
updated lately and now work together with each other and the B-W and T/V. Give
them all a run once :)

6. The following officers have been awarded for their service over 2002.
· MoH
- IO/FA Ari, for his continued consistent service as IO
· Gold Star - SO/FA
Brad, for creating a major culture shift with the HI in the direction and
attitude of the EH justice system
· Promotion to Fleet Admiral - SCO/AD
Ender mBind, for the new Fleet Manual, updates to the Order of Battle and new
patches/updates from his office
· Gold Star - PRF Ares, for consistant
service and maintaining quality in a subgroup that's struggled a lot in the last
few years
· Promotion to Fleet Admiral - GM/AD Firefox, for providing stable
leadership without going nuts (seems to be a common thing for GMs...)
·
Promotion to Admiral - SDIR/VA Troutrooper, consistant service as Intel's SGCOM
and providing timely, detailed information and intelligence when requested.

7. Many congratulations go out to one of the TIE Corps longest serving Squadron
Commanders, Lieutenant Colonel Mike, who has been appointed as Wing I's new Wing
Commander!

Competitions

Xunami Wings -
Tactical Office is proud to announce new EH-wide competition. Our main goal is to create
a set of battles showing REAL cooperation between multiple subgroups. In other
words, EH working as a whole.

You people will have to create CABs
(Combined Arms Battles) and send them to Tactical Officer.

Competition will proceed in two phases.

Phase 1:

Creation of plotlines (used later to make
CABs). This is phase for fiction writers, etc. You create detailed plotline for
your battle (story) and submit it to TAC. My staff will judge it. Awards like
in FCHG competition: IS-PR (or adequate subgroup medal) for best plotline and
so on. (also every plotline writer will receive CoS for his work).

Phase 2:

Creation of CAB battles based on plotlines
submitted. Only those who participated in Phase 1, will be allowed to join
Phase 2. Awards just like in Phase 1.

Important notes:

1. Teams are allowed, if they are multi subgroup
it's even better. Team can have 4 members max. (2 writers, 2 designers).

2. CAB rules must be followed. At least 3
SGs used. Also, your battle must show real cooperations between SGs. (for
example Tie Corps uses information gathered by Intel, Infiltrator Wing secured
HFs capture operations, etc).

Deadlines:

Phase 1 ends on December 18th 2002.

Phase 2 ends on December 31st 2002.

Winners will be announced on EH Birthday, January 7th.

Also. Best CAB will be marked as winner of
CAB competition, and members working on this CAB will be allowed to include
short not in ID Lines.

More details:

I will be posting answers to FAQs on
Mission Creation MB. Competition thread: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?p=49850#49850
