Wing IX Report #11
From the desk of Lieutenant Colonel Rejili Holthaus...

SCO COMP NOTES
------------------------------
This is the most important comp we've had in years. I want us to win, and to do that I need total particpation. It is sooo easy. I flew the mission in 1 try and I'm the worst pilot in the TC. I didn't even need to use invincible this time :P Anyway, the link is down below. If you have technical problems, email me, I can help. I had some problems myself.

This comp is so important that I've decided that no matter how much someone has done this month, if you don't send me a fiction, pilot file, or written report, there will be no promotions or medals. This comp is a lot easier than ECR, it's actually easier than most of my WC's Own comps :P There is no excuse not to do it. This goes especially for Commanders, as well as FM's.

FLEET NEWS
------------------

1. COMMENDATIONS OF LOYALTY
They were finally awarded this week. Wing IX recipients were:
LC Rejili Holthaus
CM Morpheus
CM Fox
LCM Fahrer
RA La'an
CM Shinobi
LC Tiger

Congrats guys.

2. WEEKLY NEWS ITEM OF THE WEEK THAT'S COMPLETELY INCONSEQUENTIAL AND UNIMPORTANT BUT IT HELPS FILL UP A REPORT
200 Graduates to Internet Basics!! w00t!!

3. TOKEN TACTICAL OFFICE NEWS ITEM OF THE WEEK TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE WE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEM
XWA version of CASINO IMPERIALE released. We all need to download and fly some version of this mission this week.

4. ELITE NEWS WHICH IS PROBABLY INNAPROPRIATE FOR THIS TYPE OF REPORT BUT IS INCLUDED ANYWAY
We are still losing the comp 5-0 with 1 week left. I'd like to see at least one victory before we give in :P

5. CASINO COMP
Only 2 .plts have been completed for this comp!! It is based on participation, so EVERYONE is required to either fly a mission or write a fiction. CMDR's will be held accountible for their squadrons (except a few pilots I already know who wont participate. If you are reading this you are NOT one of them). Go here for details:

http://sco.emperorshammer.net/casino/

By the way, this comp revolves around the ISD Relentless, so it'll look REALLY bad if we lose :P

WING NEWS
--------------------

1. WC's OWN COMP
Whichever squadron participates the most in the casino comp wins.

2. FREE WEB HOSTING
Mell has agreed to give all our squadrons free hosting on tcbg.net. CMDRs who have not yet contacted me about this, please do so.

3. NEW RANT COMP
I've run out of rants for our morale section, so there will be an IS-SR for first place, IS-BR for second. Rants will be judged based on how good they are or funny, and secondly the more you send me the more points you get!

4. **RECRUITMENT DRIVE** - #1 PRIORITY
Our numbers are lower than they have ben since our last recruitment drive, so it's about time for another. We realy need to get some new blood in here, go for rl and reservists, stay away from cadets. I will be VERY generously awarding everyone who brings in recruits.

5. WEEKLY ACTIVITY
I want to see stuff I can submit to the EH newsletter to promote Wing IX. Each submission get's you a medal in and of itself, plus I'll offer ISM/PC if you send me enough stuff to merit it. This is something easy to do, the newsletter will publish just about anything, so let's get out there and make ourselves known.

6. ELITE MP COMP
The elite MP comp IS on. So far, we are down 4 - 0 (!). All you people who signed up, I'm waiting to get some winning results back :) Remember to email me and COL Nightmare the match results as well as submit them for LoC's.

7. I NEED SQUADRON COLORS
EMAIL ME YOUR COLORS. No one has replied yet. I'm beginning to think people don't read this...

8. NEW RUNON RIDDLE COMP
Fahrer is running a comp on the MB. Details are probably already there, but i will send some out by email shortly.

9.NEW TCBG BANNER COMP
http://www.ehtiecorps.org/competitions/details.asp?ID=1757
There's an IS-GR for the winner, and an SR for second ;)

10. DRINK OF THE WEEK
Straight from the bar of the Stardrifter Lounge, and personally tested and approved by Major Rejili Holthaus, this week's serving suggestion ...

Hot Lesbian Sex
1 part Cherry Brandy
1 part Peach Brandy
1 splash 151 proof rum
1 part peach schnapps

Add equal parts of both brandys and the peach schnapps in a shot glass, top with 151, set fire to it and serve.

WC note: This drink is really flamming ;P

THE WING IX MORALE OFFICE
-----------------------------------------------
A Rant from the Desk of Colonel Steve the Cricket Bat ...

Mechanics, bad habits are hard to break and can put your TIE
Defender's APU and transmission oil cooler access door latches in
harm's way.

Here's a scenario that's bound to cause unnecessary repairs.

It's time to perform maintenance on the oil cooler. You pop open the
latches on the access doors, swing 'em back and let 'em fall. Didn't
you hear that big BAM?!

Just like a javelin, the open latches punch holes in the engine
cowling. And once again, you're guilty of leaving the latches open
when they should be closed. Even if you lay the doors back on the
cowling gently, open latches can still cause damage. If you step or
kneel on the door you'll hear a sickening "Crunch!" The door is a NO
STEP area.

Every time you open the access doors, always make it a habit to lock
the latches back in place. Open and close them several times to get in
the habit of locking them. You'll be amazed how quickly your mind will
make the two actions, opening and closing latches, one action.

The answer to unnecessary repairs is getting in the habit of doing
things right the first time!

STANDING ORDERS
-------------------------------

-ALL MEMBERS-

Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.

-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-

Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List. Also, each report must contain statistics for Total missions flown, and IWATS passed.

Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the last day of the month. It should cover activity throughout the whole month.

AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.

Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!

Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.
