- COMM Open For Applications
Overview
The Communications Officer (COMM) is responsible for maintaining the good working operation of communication media in the EH. Specifically this covers maintaining the ops list in the main IRC channel, reviewing operation of the message boards and related activities. The COMM also provides technical consultancy and training to members and the Command Staff in relevant areas.
Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer.
5. Experience at some level of command.
Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. Proven experience in the management of an IRC channel
2. Proven experience in related and/or relevent fields of work.
Addressing the Selection Criteria
When addressing the selection criteria, you must supply supporting evidence to back up your claim of meeting the criteria. A generally accepted model is the STAR model, where you outline a Situation, Task, Action and Resolution relating to the criteria. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position.

- Wing IX WC Applications being accepted

Due to the unforseen departue of RA Thorin Oakenshield, and LC La'an's subsequent promotion, the position of Wing IX Wing Commander is now open for applications. Any applicant must meet the standard requirements for WC

Please only apply if you have previous experience as a CMDR or WC. All applications must include a basic long-term plan for the wing, as well as any relevant ideas you have for further development, competitions etc..

- FW: Team Speak
It's been suggested that to become more active in the non-play aspect of the Freeworlds server, we need to have a greater presence on Team Speak. For those of you who aren't aware of what TS is, it's basically an application that allows people to speak to other in real-time, with multiple channels. It can be downloaded for free from the TS website.

The server address is ts.assassinsden.com, but before you can connect, you also need an account. PM Burnout with a desired username and password and he'll get you all set. To chat you'll obviously need a microphone, but you won't need one to listen. Remember that you're expected to be courteseous and polite at all times - no matter what's being discussed. Just keep in mind idea behind the Codes of Conduct and you should do fine. If we get enough users, I'll look into holding regular meetings there.

- Update
I've been given access to register people on TS. Email me your desired username and password and I'll add you. We have our own EH channel also, ask me for the password.

- FW: Territory Engagement
Freeworlders: There is a Territory Engagement tomorrow night at Midnight GMT / 1900 EST. It will be Empire vs New Republic and the targets are the Golan Arms Station & Jedi Academy. Check the Burnout Forums for the password, or ask me on IRC/Email. As usual, we will be meeting in #isd_predator 30 minutes before the start to discuss the battle plan.

Those of you keeping up to date with the latest goings on in the FW universe should be aware of the many negative perceptions the EH currently has amongst the general FW community - the huge majority of them being simply untrue and based on idle sniping and gossip. This TE is pretty much our last chance to show the server that we are active, good Role-Players and active participants in server events. Please make every effort to attend and take part. Thank you.

A quick last point to those with other non-EH characters. It's been suggested that if you die (during non-TE skirmishes), you shouldn't swap to another character that has a better ship and rejoin the fray. Apparently this is happening a lot and I'd have to agree that this is bad form. Please don't do it.

- Wing XX CMDR chosen
After careful consideration, COL Trido has been named the new WING XX WC! Congrats!

- TIEBGCOM Applications being accepted
From now until the Nov 12, 2004 I will be accepting applications for the position of TIEBGCOM. All the requirments that have been posted numerous times apply.

- Freeworlds Update
Freeworlders: The Privateer Fleet has declared us as hostile (no reason given) so we've done the same. Meanwhile, the CG is now neutral with us. You can dock at Freedom One, as long as you pay their tax. If you don't want to pay it, stay away.

- If you use mIRC or IRC in general do not use #isd_relentless anymore it is now a rDB channel. The new official channel is #isdrelentless
- Nu sqaudron CMDR is OPEN for apps.
Requirements are:
Everyone who feels he's up for the job, must convince me and GUNMAN! Also tell me what plans you have for the squad..

Here are the requirements:
* Write a desent application ( very important)!!
* Email responds within 24 hours
* Constantly in contact with his/her squadron members
* Must have completed the SM 2 or 3
* Set up a good example for his members ( Flying, basic activity, etc...).


COMPETITIONS
------------

- ECR
The only important competition you guys have now.
I believe you all read the ECR briefing? If not please inform me!!

+ The first assignement is:
Right now, you have to fly TIE-Free 105 and XWA-Free 65. You have until the 5th of November to fly them. Try to get the best score possible on those two, but more important, fly! ( files attached).

This is extreamly important so go fly. Try to get a big score.

Here are some hints for the TIE mission:
Entering the mission ->
* Emediatly there are 3 XW attacking you. Shoot 1 missile at 2 of them. * Destroy the 3 XW's and 1or2 Twings. But don't use any missiles or rockets.
* Fly to the corvettes, and at 4.50 range shoot 2 rockets at each corvette.
* After they are destroyed inspect those 2 other container ships. inspecting them will give you 1 bonus completed. ( watch out for container transport 2, he fires back). Use 2 rockets for each container transport.
* As a result to this, 2 ships enter hyperspace. Use 8 rockets for the carrack cruiser and 6 for the passenger liner. then kill them with lasers or missiles, but no rockets!!
* Kill some XW's and Awings
* Shoot your remaining rockets at the calamari cruiser with 5 other missiles.
* Now keep killing all the fighters and stay alive. Don't kill the cruiser yet!!!
* When all fighters are destroyed Twing bleu will arrive. Finish them of and then kill the cruiser.

+ Other assignments:
You all need to make a graphic and a fiction.
The graphic is due the 12/11/04 and the fiction is due 19/11/04.

Fiction: must be either a funny cantina story or a battle to capture the ALCI thieves.
Minimum word count is 500 and maximum is 2500.
