Wing IX Report #2
From the desk of Major Rejili Holthaus...

FLEET NEWS
------------------

1. WING X WING COMMANDER OPEN TO APPLICATIONS
Good luck to everyone applying from Wing IX. hehe

2. WEEKLY NEWS ITEM OF THE WEEK THAT'S COMPLETELY INCONSEQUENTIAL AND UNIMPORTANT BUT IT HELPS FILL UP A REPORT
HA Priyum has updated the new axis and allies list for Freeworlds. Potential enemies include rebels, pirates, and everyone else.

3. TOKEN TIE CORPS BATTLEGROUP NEWS ITEM OF THE WEEK TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE WE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEM
VA BubbaX, notorious spammer and general villian, has been selected to replace AD Mell Kerrigan, effective now. Mell will be lingering on until the end of ECR, at which point we hope the door won't hit him on the way out. In other news, beer is on Bubba, so drink as much as you want!

WING NEWS
------------------

1. ECR STANDINGS
These haven't been released since the flying stage. I think it is safe to say we are not winning :(

2. ECR FICTION
As of the last I heard, we had about a 50% turnout for fiction. Last year when we won this, there was 100% participation in every event. I know many of you did work very hard, and you will all be rewarded. For those of you who didn't, your assignment is to pray that Mosh's battle wins the final stage of the competition.

3. WSR's
Yes, that's right, weekly reports. I don't recall having seen Crossbow's report this week, however my email has been acting funny, and so have our mailing lists, so Drachen please send that one out again. Also remember to put in the statistics.

4. RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Our numbers are lower than they have ben since our last recruitment drive, so it's about time for another. Go for cadets, reserves, and even rl. There will be prizes to the two best recruiters.

5. NEW SHIELD COMMANDER
That's right, CM Fox was pulled drunk out of a city sewer five days ago, and has been installed as the new Shield Commander. We all wish him luck, and as always, drinks are on him.

6. WING MAILING LIST
The mailing lists are all fixed, but I've had some reports of people who weren't getting messages. If you are one of the people, please contact La'an ASAP so he can add you.

7. DRINK OF THE WEEK
Straight from the bar of the Stardrifter Lounge, and personally tested and approved by Major Rejili Holthaus, this week's serving suggestion ...

SLIPPERY NIPPLE
Ingredients:
0.5 oz Bailey's Irish cream
0.5 oz Butterscotch schnapps
Mixing Instructions:
Serve as is. Short, sweet, and to the point ...hence the name.

THE WING IX MORALE OFFICE
-----------------------------------------------
"Hello, my name is Col. Steve the cricket bat, Wing IX Morale Officer. For those of you who don't know me, my job is to beat you like a red-headed step-child. My other duties include drinking and smoking, as well as running the Wing IX agony aunt/uncle program. If you're looking for a sympathetic friend, Colonel Steve has the answers ..."

Dear Steve,
I have a problem. Whenever we have free drinks in the cantina, I just can't seem to keep up with the rest of the Wing. It makes me feel like less of a man. Plus, after a couple of beers, I get really plastered and spam up all the message boards. What should I do?
A New BGCOM

Steve replies ...
Well A New BGCOM, there is a time tested method for increasing alcohol tolerance. It's called a sound beating. Hehe. *Desperate Screams*

Dear Steve,
I also have a spamming problem. Even when I was in the reserves, all I ever did was play around on the MB's. Is there something wrong with me?
CM Fox, Shield Squadron

Steve replies ...
CM Fox, there is most definitely something wrong. In fact, the FMC even has a name for it. I believe it's called Bubbaitis. Unfortunately it's incurable and fatal. I just hope I don't get it.

Dear Steve,
I'm having trouble with my girlfriend. When the Rel got shipped out, I had to leave her behind, but the other day I got a letter from her, saying she's leaving me for my sister. What should I do?
A New Lieutenant

Steve replies ...
This is very typical of girlfriends. There's only one surefire way to win her back: jealousy. Sleep with her brother. I guarantee she'll come crawling back.

If you would like to contact Steve about any problems you might be experiencing, write to him here, at the Wing IX Morale Office, just behind the boiler on Deck 64. The sender of the most distressing letter wins a book token.

STANDING ORDERS
-------------------------------

-ALL MEMBERS-

Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.

-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-

Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List. Also, each report must contain statistics for Total missions flown, and IWATS passed.

Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the second to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 30th. If there are 30 Days, the 29th, and so on.

AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.

Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!

Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
