Star Wars Celebration III registration Sept 27th

On Monday, Sept. 27, Star Wars fans officially can get their plans underway for Celebration III, the event that promises to be the most electrifying Star Wars extravaganza ever. Tickets for the 4-day festival, slated for April 21 - 24, 2005 in Indianapolis, are scheduled to go on sale at approximately 12 noon PDT at starwarscelebration.com. Reservations for hotels in Indianapolis for Celebration III also will be available starting September 27, exclusively for those who purchase tickets for the event.
Scheduled just four weeks before the worldwide premiere of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Celebration III has been eagerly anticipated by fans since Celebration II entertained more than 26,000 in May, 2002. Celebration III promises to be even more exciting, with more guests, more activities, and more events spread over the entire Indiana Convention Center -- over half a million square feet of Star Wars!

Medal Guidelines to Keep in Mind

I haven't ever really spoken out about this, but in medal denials, so I'll go on official record with a few points on required items in medal recommendations and other general issues I've noticed lately:
All MSE medals MUST include quantatative data, such as battles completed, multiplayer activity, IWATS completed, communications activity, and medals awarded to the pilot in that month.
I will no longer approve a MSE medal if it doesn't include the medals awarded to the pilot that month and at least the general purpose of that medal being awarded. I want to cut down on double-awarding. Please note that what I'm specificially looking for are competition medals, web design medals, and things along those lines.
Competition numbers must be included with every Iron Star medal recommendations. There are no excepetions to this rule.
No merit medal may be awarded for any competition.
Commendations of Bravery are to be awarded immediately after a pilot completes 30 missions. Any pilot who does so may request their CMDR to award this medal. This is not out of line, it's just making your CMDR aware that you have completed the required number of missions.

Activity is all up yet again on last weeks figures, especially in Shield Squadron. Thorins checked in, and should be back in the next fortnight, so no problems on that side of things
Mell's operation went smoothly, so he's back among us. IMPSTORM contiues well, with theTCBG essentially owning everything :p. Id like to pay special attention to the work of VA Oldham in organising things during Mell's absence.
Unfortunately, weve lost 2 pilots to AWOL's. So this is the end for Tack and Tobri... bye guys

COMPETITIONS
Flush the WC is still running well, with me as yet undefeated - but for how long?!?. Basically challenge me to get a higher score than youon a XWA free mission of your choice for a IS-SW. Ends the 30th.
Rel Idol has had 4 submissions so far. IS-SR and -BR available for each part; the wing theme suggestion, and the fiction explaining your choice, one week left.

STANDING ORDERS
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an
-ALL MEMBERS-
Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.
-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-
Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.
Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.
AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.
Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!
Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.
CLOSING REMARKS
Performance is improving beyond all measure - im truly proud to be this wings WC, competitions are looking good, and everything is running smoothly. Imp Storm is looking good for the TCBG, and even Thorins LoA wont be a problem.
