TIEBGCOM Applications being accepted

From now until the Nov 12, 2004 I will be accepting applications for the position of TIEBGCOM. All the requirments that have been posted numerous times apply.
I would prefer dedicated members of the TIEBG to apply and these members to have held the position of COM or higher.
Have TIEBGCOM application in the subject header.
Since AD Mell is not leaving for another month, don't bug me with any questions about when am I going to pick the spot. I will have someone appointed the same minute AD Mell steps down :)

Freeworlders: The Privateer Fleet has declared us as hostile (no reason given) so we've done the same. Meanwhile, the CG is now neutral with us. You can dock at Freedom One, as long as you pay their tax. If you don't want to pay it, stay away.

New SOV BGCOM Chosen

With the retirement of AD Proton, I have chosen GN Stele Pallaeon as the new SOVBGCOM. GN Stele has been a long and active member with the SOVBG. I feel that he will be able to lead the Sov with the same intensity and resiliency as AD Proton had, and will continue to lead for some time. With that GN Stele is promoted to the rank of VA and given the duties if BGCOM. Congrats Stele!
SHIP/WING NEWS
Major ship news is Thorins expulsion from the EH for breaching his probation. His loss has been felt by all, and will likewise be regretted. Ican only hope that with his departure the ship doesnt fall into inactivity.
Congratulations on the promotions of LCM's Bombarda and La'an, and to all the MWE medal recipients,they are all deserving of their awards. Several more are in the process of confirmation.
OPENING REMARKS
Activity is down, so i really want that to change. I am hopeful that Thorin's departure wont affect us too badly, i still want to win ECR, and i think we all owe Thorin that much at least, lets do this for him! Im A:COM until his replacement is appointed, so all queries and issues to me...

COMPETITIONS
Make sure you read your squadron reports thoroughly, i know several comps are already running there...
ECR is running - with a whole host of seperate sections. Rather than list them again, ill refer you to thee-mails youve all received. Theres fiction, graphics, and free mission flying. Battle design is alreadybeing handled, butremember,youcan contribute ideas and suggestions. Participation couldnt be easier - 2 hours of your time will cover EVERYTHING - and the events are staggered,so thats like 25 minutes a week? too much too ask? I dont think so.
Current emphasis is on the flying, at least one of the two free missions, before the deadline next week, all submissions to me...

STANDING ORDERS
Though Thorin has gone, his orders stand till changed by the next COM...
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an
-ALL MEMBERS-
Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.
-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-
Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.
Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.
AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.
Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!
Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.
