- Regular and consistent in paperwork (reports, mails, etc.).
- Able to run competitions.

- All of the standard duties mentioned in the Training Manual.

Craft Essay Competition

Parties Involved: All Emperor's Hammer Members except for the SCO
Medals to be Awarded: 1st IS-GR, 2nd IS-SR, 3rd IS-BR or equalivalent SG medal.
Write an essay about your favorite Star Wars ship: Why was it designed? What are its main uses? Its History? Its strengths and shortcomings?
Essays need to be from "inside" the Star Wars universe, and from an Emperor's Hammer point of view is encouraged (but not required).
DO research on your craft of choice, your essay cannot conflict with official sources. If you use sources, list these at the end. (This means a fairly unknown or EH craft gives you more freedom then one that is well documented.. but also that you will need use your own logic and imagination more.)
Essays can be any length, if you want to write about the entire history of the "Millenium Falcon" you're free to do so, but a short but effective story about the TUG has just as much chance to win.
Essays need to be in .txt, .rtf, .html or .doc format and zipped. Send your submission to sco@emperorshammer.org with "Craft Essay Competition" as subject.
The best entries may be included in the the Fleet Manual, a seperate additional ISM (or equalivalent) will be rewarded for those.

Fleet Manual Updates
11:34 - FA Ender mBind
The Fleet Manual (the official spacecraft technical referance of the Emperor's Hammer) has been ported to php/database. The main URL of the Fleet Manual will remain the same, but if you have any links towards craft profiles or anything within the Fleet Manual you will need to update those.
With the port the Fleet Manual has been updated as well: Many new craft were added (25), about all these craft now have graphics that show them from all angles, all craft have their full XWA statistics added, all patches are linked up etc.
This does not mean this version of the Fleet Manual is finished. More craft and graphics will be added soon, as will more complete reference lists etc. Also the entire Order of Battle still needs to be ported (in FM links at least) :)

FreeWorlds Clones and the TC....

SHIP/WING NEWS
Unfortunately we've lost LT Painbringer to AWOL, mind you how hes escaped his fate for the last few months has escaped me. Anyway, Drachen and Thorin remain on leave forthe time being. MWE has been completed, so we can all rest on our laurels while the COM is away, and the MWE is evaluated.
I want to see renewed flying, last month was excellent, i want October to be nothing short of outstanding. Current wingcomps have all ended, see the comp section below for details...
OPENING REMARKS
This was compiled WITHOUT a WSR from Crossbow, with MAJ Nuno (XO) failing to provide a WSR in his CMDR's absence. This is the only bad point for this week, and one that i will not tolerate again, last warning. If you are on leave, your designated XO either does his job or loses it - i dont mind if you even delegate another pilot to do it - just as long as it is done by Thursday night.

Flush the WC has ended, with myself undefeated :). If any one sfeelsthe need to wipe the smile from my face, worry not, im going to make this a monthly event. Flush will start again in 3 days, same rules as last time, an IS-SW for any winners... if there are any :P
Rel Idol has also finished, with LT Klyn Shanga taking first in the theme event, and second in the fiction section. Congrats to him, and CM Rejili on his first in the fiction, and LCM Targaryen's second in the theme.
ATF were running a BG runon comp till myself and Rejili hijacked it, now were an offical part of it... Top 4 posters get medals, further details on the topic

WING ACTIVITY
Wing activity has increased hugely this past month. Weve gone from 79 missions in August to over 500, approaching a 600% increase!!! Were beginning to suffer from lack of numbers, so recruiting should be the first thing on everyone's minds right now, but otherwise activity is good as reflected in the MWE.

STANDING ORDERS
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an
-ALL MEMBERS-
Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.
-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-
Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.
Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.
AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.
Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!
Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.
CLOSING REMARKS
Performance has been excellent, and i continue to be proud of this wing. Hopefully we can start to attract more members in the next few weeks, but until then, keep flying and keeping active.
