Retirements
AD Proton, SOVCOM has asked to be retired to the reserves once a replacement is found. AD Proton has served as the SOVCOM for over two years, and wishes to turn the ship over to younger blood.
AD Mell Kerrigan has also asked to retire to the reserves after completing a few more duties. Mell has been a huge influence on many TC and EH policies as well as a thorn in the sides of many a CO :)

Wing XVI WC Required
Due to RL time constraints, Marcus Caine has decided to resign as Wing Commander of the Pred and move to the RSV. I’d like to thank him again for his enormous contribution towards getting Freeworlds off the ground and running in the TIE Corps. This of course means that I need a new WC, and I’d like to get him or her in place ASAP.

PRF Open For Applications
The position of Prefect requires an individual well versed in Star Wars first person shooter (FPS) games and other appropriate platforms for the Hammer's Fist. The successful candiate will be expected to be a leader in the adoption of Star Wars and non-Star Wars platforms for his subgroup.

SHIP/WING NEWS
Hmmm.. news this week... Drachen seems to have returned from his LoA, sowe can look forward tosome activity from Crossbow some time soon. Valid points havebeen raised about the performance of the LARGEST squadron on the ship,and pilots can be assured that this will change very soon - whether i have to strip some of the inactivepilots or reshuffle the squadrons - pilot opinions appreciated.
A new wing comp is on the cards, with RA Thorin producing another complicated and demanding Flying comp, see the comp section below for details.
And finally, we gained a new pilot in theform of CM Zeke Freeman, i hope he settles into Shield ok.
Oh... and i got promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel :p

This competition will start Monday at 12:01am...Thorin wanted to give everyone a heads up;
ISD Relentless Top Gun
The Top Gun Competition pits every pilot against each other, and places emphasis on scores, rather then just the number of missions you fly.
Rules
Pilots may fly any mission or battle in the Compendium.
Every mission recieves a number of points, based on the percentage of the high score that you achieve.
Meet/Exceed High Score: 150 Points
90%+ of High Score: 100 Points
80%+ of High Score: 90 Points
70%+ of High Score: 75 Points
60%+ of High Score: 60 Points
50%+ of High Score: 45 Points
1-49% of High Score: 20 Points
If a battle is flown, each mission is scored seperately. There is no difference between flying 5 free missions, or a 5 mission battle.
Each pilot who scores at least 500 points the first week will be eligable for the competition. After the first week, pilots much accumulate at least 250 points per week to stay in the competition. As you can see, you either need to fly very well, or an awful lot.
Beginning at the end of week 2, The lowest overall pilot will be eliminated from the competition. Play will continue until there is only one pilot left, who will be crowned Top Gun of the Relentless.
Missions you hold a High Score on are ineligable for submission.
Also the ATF runon is over now, but as yet no word on winners
Make sure you read your squadron reports thoroughly, i know several comps are already running there...

STANDING ORDERS
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an
-ALL MEMBERS-
Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.
-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-
Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.
Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.
AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.
Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!
Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.

Performance continues at a decent level, recruitment still needs to be concentrated on. Definite activity increases would be great -especially from Crossbow
