WING COMMANDER'S CORNER
Its been a bad week for me, I lost my internet connection last week so this report is 2 weeks worth rolled into one. I'm doing my best to catch up, but unfortuatly it isn't easy. Sorry about my inactivity, but I really couldn't get online to do my WC work.

In other numbers, this month has been a bad one for Wing VIII, with a number of pilots leaving. Recruitment is now high on the list of priorities. Other than that, i'm also disappointed in the amount of CSL entries. Come on guys.

WING VIII NEWS

- Congrats to CM Anthony Starr who is now Eta CMDR.

- Round 3 of CSL ends. Round 4 starts and is extended until Wednesday

- I've been having internet problems the last week, hence my lack of activity.

- Pilot of the Week for the 2 weeks is Major Daniel Klivian runner up is LT Rinuchu Stealth.

- The wing VIII IWAT's bonanza competition is still on, updates are in the competition part of the report below.

- CM Rokin, CM Alec Qarni, CPT Rogue all leave us.

- IS V is now in turn 10, come on TCBG :)

- AD Mell is on leave due to his operation currently.

- Competition ideas still wanted.. any you think are orginal email to me.

- Recruitment needed for ship, as we are on low numbers.. so come on!

- Fly TIE-FREE 182 for round 5 of CSL.

- I'm sorting through my emails that stacked up in my absence.. things should be back to normal by Friday.

- CM Miackus is a bum. I order him to wash.

Medal Guidelines to Keep in Mind

I haven't ever really spoken out about this, but in medal denials, so I'll go on official record with a few points on required items in medal recommendations and other general issues I've noticed lately:

All MSE medals MUST include quantatative data, such as battles completed, multiplayer activity, IWATS completed, communications activity, and medals awarded to the pilot in that month.
I will no longer approve a MSE medal if it doesn't include the medals awarded to the pilot that month and at least the general purpose of that medal being awarded. I want to cut down on double-awarding. Please note that what I'm specificially looking for are competition medals, web design medals, and things along those lines.
Competition numbers must be included with every Iron Star medal recommendations. There are no excepetions to this rule.
No merit medal may be awarded for any competition.
Commendations of Bravery are to be awarded immediately after a pilot completes 30 missions. Any pilot who does so may request their CMDR to award this medal. This is not out of line, it's just making your CMDR aware that you have completed the required number of missions.
So, the ideal medal recommendation would look something like this:

Medal: Bronze Star of the Empire
Awarded To: CMDR/CPT Forrest Gump/Alabama/Wing X/ISD Virginia
Recommended By: COM/LT Dan/ISD Virginia
Reason: Battles Completed:
XvT TC 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46

MoH for efforts in combat over the past six months.

CM Forrest Gump has been a great commander. He flew many battles this month as well as took many IWATS. Unfortunately, he has to step down as commander due to RL in the next week or so. For all his activity and for his work as commander, Forrest deserves a Bronze Star!

Another stellar month from one of our best CMDRs. He accumulated 476 points in Top Dawg and that is a great acheivment in itself. He maintains all his regular CMDR duties in a timely manner and is one of our best. Run Forrest Run!

Omicron made a big jump in points after last round. With Angel's departure, Eta will be hard pressed to maintain its lead. Iota may have something to say too. The fight for first place between Scuslem, Kadon, and Alpha is heating up. Round 4 could be Eta and Iota squadrons only opportunity to gain considerable advantage over Omicron.
As you know, the next mission is TIE-Free 68, for everyone except Omicron Squadron. Deadline is the 19th. Keep this activity, folks.
