SHIP/WING NEWS
Shield's longstanding CMDR LC Tiger was forcibly removed from his post this week due to inactivity, his replacement being our own CM Rejili Holthaus. Tiger to continues to serve as a Shield FM however, so we have not lost this asset to the wing.

Congrats to CM Holthaus and LCM Greven Targaryen on their competition success, results and details are in the comp. section

Crossbow and Shield's CMDR's failure to ensure WSR's arriving on time, if at all, mean that i have my eye on them. If you want your CMDR's to stay where they are then i ask you to try and get their attention. If not, then by next week their positions will be open for apps

OPENING REMARKS
To say it was a good week would be stretching the truthquite significantly. Its been a good week for Hammer Squadron. It has NOT been a good week for me. Not only has Crossbow's CMDR failed to send me a WSR, Shield's new CMDR has taken aLoA without appointing an A:CMDR.

With my probation as WC ending in 10 days, it seems very unlikely that i will be continuing as your WC. Thisis something i would very much hope to avoid, but is nevertheless being made inevitable by circumstance.

I want tosee improvements,and i want to see them quickly. I promise that if a CMDR does not send me a WSR by 12pm Thursday (GMT), he will not be a CMDR the next morning.

COMPETITIONS
Most of the current Wing Competitions have all ended recently, though several others are in the pipeline.

The banner compwas won by CM Holthaus,so congratulations on his IS-BR, and congrats to us all on finally ridding ourselves of the pwned banner. Due to a few size problems Rejili's banner will have to be redone once he returns, so at theminute the old "Strength in Unity" banner is back.

The Wing Recruitment Drive has worked very well, with the possibility of at least 9 new recruits/pilots joining the Rel in coming weeks. The winner of this comp was LCM Targaryen, with 3 recruits, while CM Holthaus came runner-up with 2. They get an IS-SR and -BR respectively.

WING ACTIVITY
Wing activity remains very good, at least in terms of Hammer Squadron. Crossbow and Shield are doing ok, but its still Hammer that continues to excel every week. Hopefully this is going to change, but until then watch out for more competitions etc to try and kick everyone onto a level footing.

STANDING ORDERS
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an


-ALL MEMBERS-

Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.


-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-

Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.

Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.

AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.

Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!

Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.

CLOSING REMARKS
Performance remains relatively good from some. However, with the end of my probation coming in 10 days i think it very unlikely that i will be able to continue as WC, thanks in part to the Failure of Shield and Crossbows commanders to write a WSR, or appoint a subordinate to write a WSR
