The Rank of General

Recently I've had a few requests for some members to be promoted to the rank of General while they are in FM or FL spots in squadrons. This is not allowed, nor will I ever allow this. However...

The rank of General is probably the most prestigious of all the ranks in the TieCorps. Very difficult to earn and highly respected, it is often reserved for Elite members who exhibit activity and loyalty above and beyond as well as Wing Commanders.

My exception to the "normal" squadron rule is that if a pilot comes from the reserves or transfers into a squadron and they held the General rank, they shall be allowed to retain it. These pilots have earned it, thus earning the right to keep the rank.

If a high ranking member RA and greater retires and comes back to the TC in a squadron FM position they sall revert to the traditional COL rank if they've never held the General rank before gaining their Admiral bars.

All members should make note of this and please don't bug me any more :)

SHIP/WING NEWS
Ship and wing news this week... Firstly, numbers. Weve seen a couple of transfers out of the wing unfortunately, but new faces are appearing, so overall were doing well.

Secondly, Sword squadron has closed, and its pilots redistributed. This was based solely on numbers - i believe 3 strong squadrons to be better than 4 under-strength squadrons. However, Sword wil be first to reopen should numbers no-longer pose a problem.

Our congratulations to MAJ Mosh as well, on winning both the WWC and the BGCOM pilot of the month award, aswell as Hammers winning the BGCOM's squadron ofthe month, drinks are on him and his squadron...

Other than that theres no real news this week. CPT Drachen has settled in as Crossbow Commander, so i hope we can look forward to great things. After the end of the current recruiting comps, i aim to host a flying comp between all 3 squadrons to choose next months Wing Commanders Own.

Therefore youd better get practising and start flying, keep a watch for further information later on...

Its been another good week, even with a few transfers away from the wing. Plenty of wing and squadron comps are onthe go, meaning we can look forward to another medal flood in afew weeks, possibly bigger even than Thorins flood a few days ago.

Wing and squadron recruiting comps are now running, so get recruiting before the end of the month. Talk to your CMDR for the details. If there IS NOT a recruiting comp in your squadron yeti wantto see one in the next 2 days, or else...

The COM and BGCOM are both running caption comps, so if you all want to compete check your inbox for the photos. Its the easest possible comp to take part in, so id like to see a high participation.

STANDING ORDERS
By Order of Rear Admirall Thorin Oakenshield, all personel in Wing IX will read and obey these standing orders. Failure to abide by these orders may result in removal from your position, demotion, or being HCIed, depending on the nature of the offense. Any questions about these standing orders should be directed to the Wing Commander, MAJ Jarek La'an


-ALL MEMBERS-

Weekly Contact
At the very minimum, all members of the Wing will make contact with thier direct superior at least one time per week, VIA EMAIL. This is the very minimum to be considered active in Wing IX. If you intend to be off of the internet for more then (5) days, email your Commander and let him or her know as a common courtesy. If you are taking a Leave of Abscense more then ten (10) days, notify your Commander -AND- the Wing Commander via email.


-SQUADRON COMMANDERS-

Weekly Squadron Reports (WSRs)
WSEs will be submitted NLT 12.00PM each Thursday by email to the Wing Commander, Your Squadron, and the Wing IX Email List.

Monthly Squadron Evaluations (MSEs)
MSEs will be submitted to the Wing Commander NLT the fourth to last day of the month. I.E. if there are 31 days in the Month, your MSE will be submitted by midnight on the 27th. If there are 30 Days, the 26th, and so on.

AWOLs / MIAs / Reserve Requests
If you have found a pilot to be AWOL (no contact in 30 days), or MIA (bad email address), or a pilot has requested to go the reserves, you WILL NOT make the database request yourself. Forward the relevant information to the Wing Commander, who will verify the information, and make one last effort to 'save' the pilot before he or she is removed from the wing. This is NOT to take authority away from the CMDRs, but to allow the flags to ensure that a pilot really wants to leave. A good example is a pilot whos pissed off at his CMDR and has requested the reserves, when it's entirely possible the pilot would be happy in another squadron.

Flight Leaders
EVERY Flight Leader position in the Wing will ALWAYS be filled. If your Flight Leader leaves the squadron for whatever reason, you will appoint a new Flight Leader immediately. The Flight Office requires that all three flights have a leader in order for new pilots to be placed in that Squadron. We will not miss any opportunity for new pilots!

Designated XO
Every Squadron will have a designated XO. This person will know what he or she needs to do in the event that you are unable to come online, specifically in the area of filing a report for you.
