Wing XIV weekly report #26 - 04/24/2004
- WING NEWS-
Hello pilots of the ISD Intrepid and welcome to this new Wing report.

Captain Spade is the new Copperhead squadron commander, congratulations to him! Spade is a veteran of the Intrepid and has served in Copperhead as Fight Leader for many months, I'm sure he will be a successful CMDR too. However his first duty is pretty simple: to pay drinks to his fellow pilots!

Two fresh Sub Lieutenants joined Viper squadron this week, please give a warm welcome to SL Luke Devalis and SL El Guapo! El Guapo already completed his first combat mission and he has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, congratulations! Unfortunately CPT Derek Dan of Diamondback squadron decided to transfer to Reserves. This is a great loss for the Intrepid as Derek was a veteran of this ship, a dedicated pilot and a good friend, I wish him the best of luck in real life! It must be noted that due to Derek's resignation Diamondback lost their cool 402 citations but this is not a good reason to cry and go into shadows. On the contrary, we must continue to search for new motivated pilots that can make our Wing to grow. LC Justin done that with very good results, now I'd like to see the other CMDRs do the same.

Eventually, March MSE medals have been awarded. I'm sorry for the delay but there was a misunderstanding between me and Frodo. Anyway, congratulations to LCM Predator and COL Plif on their well deserved Bronze Stars of the Empire. There are three more medals pending, these will be awarded as soon as the Operations Officer reviews my recommendations.

LC Crimson Fury and CPT Apohis Kuma are still on leave. Cobra and Krayt pilots, send me your pilot files and I will make sure they are BSFed in a reasonable time.

March XvT Week of War ended yesterday, frankly speaking I expected a better participation from this Wing. Do not forget we are part of the Aggressor Strike Force and as such we're supposed to represent the TIE Corps at the most important multiplayer competition. Trust me, multiplayer competitions are fun even if you don't win, two days ago I participated to a 4vs4 melee with Z-95s (aka flying coffins), I got creamed but it was incredibly fun to fly among all those lasers, explosions and fireworks. Try it out and remember that TC multiplayer is on 24/7 on the channel #ehcoc (undernet servers).

The first round of the Beat the COM competition ends today, if you haven't done so yet fly XvT Free #154 and send your pilot file to VA Frodo (fcjt914@yahoo.ca), you have until 23:59 EST. Despite what I said in my last report the Recruitment GFX contest and the FCHG/CR race are still running. Sorry for my mistake!

The Science Officer seems to be unstoppable! The TIE Raptor, TIE Protector (GA Ronin's personal starfighter), TIE Assault and TIE Advanced X-1 (Vader's fighter) have been released for X-Wing: Alliance. You can download them from sco.minos.net  Moreover, the Imperial Alliance project is proceeding very well., way to go SCO!

On a final note, the 21st was my 4th anniversary in the Emperor's Hammer :p

Well, I think that is all for this report. Have fun and cya soon!

New Praetorian Commander Selected
18:22 - FA Cyric [jroscoe@comcast.net]
After careful consideration by myself and AD Mordann, Please Congratulate CPT Gelton Torr for becoming the new Praetorian Commander.

We expect big things from Cpt Torr and hopes he carries on where he left off as Prae XO.

Congrats and Good Luck!

Custom Uniforms
10:33 - VA Alex Foley [afoley@rawx.net]
I've talked about this a bit in my past two reports, but I'm going to take a moment to talk about it here so it gets out to the general public. From now on, creation of custom uniforms is going to be highly encouraged by the Operations Office. I, like many others, am sick of just seeing the cookie-cutter uniforms. I am going to allow more leeway with background colors, names in corners, and that kind of thing. Anything that adds class to a uniform design is fine with me. But, please beware. I am not going to approve crazy designs (Read: No Ewok Heads, Crazy Medals, or anything like that), so if you think something might be denied, make sure to e-mail me before putting all the work into designing a custom uniform.

CMDRs, I encourage you to run competitions among your squadrons for the best design of a custom uniform, for yourself or for individual squadron members. It's a great way to promote squadron activity.

ISD Grey Wolf COM Promoted to Vice Admiral.
02:03 - FA Cyric [jroscoe@comcast.net]
From VA Khadgar: Gilad has been an active force on the Grey Wolf ever since his appointment. He has been constantly active in reports, competition design and motivation. He has also been active in flying activities, Message Board activity and IRC activity. He has also notably been involved hands-on in recruitment, something of a rarity these days! Gilad does his best to make the Grey Wolf a better place for the pilots, and I think he succeeds! He is certainly a valued addition to the ASF staff, and it would give me great pleasure to see him honored with this rank for his service to the ASF! Congrats to VICE ADMIRAL Gilad!
