                              Wing News
Well one more week in the life on the Vanguard, and life is good. We are up to 56 total pilots aboard. Outstanding job guys. We are closing in on our goal of 60 so lets keep the recruitment campaign going strong.

Round one of Flight Wars is about to begin. We will be seeing Scorpion 3 face Python 2 and Scorpion 1 against Mantis 3. It should be some good matchups and i look foward to finding the eventual winner of this little competition that came out of my twisted mind so good luck to all of you. The round one events will be in each of the participating squadrons boxes tomorrow nite around 12 midnight Est so look for it.

Well COM Sickman has deemed me worthy of Lieutenant Colonel. I dont know if I have done enough to be deserving but I think we have done some good work aboard. I thank all our outstanding commanders and pilots who have kept up their hard work. You guys make me look good and for that I do appreciate you all!!

We welcome in four more pilots to the Vanguard this week. The first is an old Vanguard veteran whom I have been after for awhile. Major Kenath Zoron whom is one of the hardest working people I know in this entire club. The other three are shiny new cadets who we have great aspirations for, SL Naar Treib, SL Draiff Stryker, and SL ElectroBull. Welcome aboard to all of you!!
           
                                 Fleet News
1.   A ground breaking day for the TC as we have gained an alliance with Rebel Squadrons. This is our sister organization and has been gotten through the hard work and dedication of Rear Admiral Darknyte, Admiral Rahj Tharen, and Grand Admiral Ronin.
2. The Intrepid COM, RA Wil Stryker has been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral. Congrats Wil, it is well deserved!!  
3.  Congratulations to the new FOA, Colonel Reaper.
4.  Congratulations to the Wing Commander of Wing XVIII, Major Davi Anthol.
5.  Congratulations to the new Commodore of the ISD Challenge LC Charles "Demos" Spencer!

                  Vanguard standing orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

Standing Order #2: Reports
I expect a Squadron report every week from every Commander on Friday unless I am told in advance of a RL situation that prevents you from sending one in on time but I do expect it when you return from leave.  This will get you removed from command immediately.  They must also be uploaded to the database.

Standing Order #3: AWOL's
All AWOL requests must be approved by the WC and the COM before sending them in to the FO. This is not to resurp your command it is to give us the chance of emailing the pilots personally to try and find out their situations and give them one last chance to get back to active status.

                         COMPETITIONS
FCHG COMPETITION
The Pilot gaining the most FCHG Points during the month of March will receive an IS-SW and the runner up will get a IS-BW.

VANGUARD JOUST
Our Mp competition with points being awarded as follows:
10 POINTS---DFC
05 POINTS---PER WIN
03 POINTS---PER LOSS
01 POINTS---EACH COMPETITION PARTICIPATED IN
The one with the most points receives an IS-SW and the runner up gets an IS-BW.

RECRUITMENT COMPEITION
The Pilot assisting and aiding in the placement of the most recruits(cadets or reservists) during the month will receive an IS-SR and the runner up will receive an IS-BR.

FICITON COMPEITION
This will be our fiction competition.  Write as many peices of fiction you care to and submit them to me.  I will compile them all at the end of the month and submit them for the NL.  Myself and COM Sickman will judge the winners.  The winner receives an IS-SR and the runner up an IS-BR.

FLIGHT WARS
This competition has been approved. Round one starts Monday and will run approximately 5 weeks. All members of the winning flight will receive IS-SW's and the runner ups will receive IS-BW.
