Wing News
Looks like my Flight Wars competition is coming to a close and I deem it a great success. I thank each of you for your hard work and dedication over the past few months while I have been at the helm and I hope we can carry on and take the Van to even bigger and better things.

Round four of Flight Wars is over. The matchups are listed below. Congratulations to all advancing flights:
Python 2(44.51 pts.) def. Python 1(1.25 pts.) Match of the week, outstanding!!
Hornet 1(43.35 pts.) def. Hornet 3(29.35 pts.)
Well its time for the final matchup. Python 2 vs Hornet 1 for the medals and the title of Vanguards Iron Flight. I expect a knock out drag out brawl here so good luck to all members.

Our new Recruting Office(RO) is in operation and is being headed by LCM Ulath of Python Squadron. He has been working with me over the last few weeks and shows a great enthusiam for the job. I would like to see one person for each squadron helping with this project so let myself and Ulath know if you are interested.

Several new pilots are reportedly on inbound flights to the Vanguard. Our recruiting has been going well over the past few weeks but dont stop now, we are far from our goal of 60.


Fleet News
1. Heres the latest on the Zone issue of shutting XWA and XVT rooms down. They decided to move them instead of delete them after the petition was finished. To find the new rooms, go to "All Games" at http://www.zone.com, and go under "ZoneLAN - DirectPlay". You'll find the rooms as "XWing Alliance" and "XvT Rebel Base II".

Vanguard standing orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

Standing Order #2: Reports
I expect a Squadron report every week from every Commander on Friday and Squadron MSE's are due on the 1st unless I am told in advance of a RL situation that prevents you from sending one in on time but I do expect it when you return from leave. This will get you removed from command immediately. They must also be uploaded to the database.

Standing Order #3: AWOL's
All AWOL requests must be approved by the WC and the COM before sending them in to the FO. This is not to resurp your command it is to give us the chance of emailing the pilots personally to try and find out their situations and give them one last chance to get back to active status.

COMPETITIONS
FCHG COMPETITION
The Pilot gaining the most FCHG Points during the month of March will receive an IS-SW and the runner up will get a IS-BW.

VANGUARD JOUST
Our Mp competition with points being awarded as follows:
10 POINTS---DFC
05 POINTS---PER WIN
03 POINTS---PER LOSS
01 POINTS---EACH COMPETITION PARTICIPATED IN
The one with the most points receives an IS-SW and the runner up gets an IS-BW.

RECRUITMENT COMPEITION
The Pilot assisting and aiding in the placement of the most recruits(cadets or reservists) during the month will receive an IS-SR and the runner up will receive an IS-BR.

FICITON COMPEITION
This will be our fiction competition. Write as many peices of fiction you care to and submit them to me. I will compile them all at the end of the month and submit them for the NL. Myself and COM Sickman will judge the winners. The winner receives an IS-SR and the runner up an IS-BR.

FLIGHT WARS
This competition has been approved. Round three starts Monday and has two weeks left. All members of the winning flight will receive IS-SW's and the runner ups will receive IS-BW.
