Happy Halloween!

Welcome to the last Wing Report for the Month of October. We got several comps going on and lots of new things happening right now! But first as the topic states, "Happy Halloween to all!" This is a day if your unfamiliar with it, where we scare the hell out of little kids when they come to our doors looking for trick or treat candy. And do I ever have a scary mask for them this year. But actually its the same as I used last year but they probably won't remember it anyway :P .

Next, a simple reminder to all, CONGRATULATIONS for winning the Wing VIII vs Wing VI comp. A big deal you say? Why yes it is, as it makes us 3 for 3 for Wing competitions. This is a good thing, and makes the COM and WC very happy. For those of you who participated you've earned yourself a day off today! But don't get to lazy cuz we'll be needing your services again real soon, just as soon as I get more comp details ironed out, we'll be fighting again for our honor!

Note: tomorrow starts the first series of our new "HGK Ladder Competition". If your interested and want to join, then you better hurry. I'm taking names from now until the 4th of November to determine who will fight against who in the battle to be listed as a Grand Knight of the Colossus. Who will be the first to adorn the honor? I guess you'll have to wait an see. If you need more info about this comp then go to this link: Hall of the Grand Knight

Hats off to our COM for doing some creative thinking and coming up with some comps for us to do. Whew! I'm tired of doing it all :P. But never the less he did a wonderful job and knowing this you had better participate and join in the fun. One of them involves coming up with a new Nickname for the ship. Since I guess he no longers like the Titans and grew tired of it. It only means I gotta change the blasted name of the Wing Report now :(

Next one is a COM's ship flag comp. Whats this you say? Well lemme explain it to you :). Our beloved COM has decided he wants a flag (heh or does he really mean....). Okay seriously, he wants a flag to represent the COM's Own when its decided what squadron it will be. He also wants to be able to pass the flag to the winning squadron and they will fly the COM's flag for a month, until the wiener (I mean winner :P) of the next month is chosen.

Now keep in mind he's done these knowing we already have two comps to do and while ECR is in a waiting phase, you know like waiting for the last and final round of ECR :) . Be that as it may, these comps are fairly easy to do, ad should not really interfere with our competition operations for the moment. Should they do so, all comps will be placed on hold until ECR is complete.

Even though somethings are going slightly slow these days for the ship as a whole, we are still doing an outstanding job overall. I think and its only my opinion that we should either be first or a second place candidate for ECR and thanks to the help of those who participated. Especially those who so far have done all phases to the present day. Okay thats about all I got for this portion, I'll do the rest of the report with stats before I continue my review of the Wing.

Colossus Standing Orders
Colossus Standing Orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

This has been shortened for you. The rest maybe seen on the Colossus website.

ISDCA - ISD Colossus Ace Competition Round #2
Due to start November 1st. Okay like I stated, here it is October 31, and the start of the ISDCA #2. You have 2 weeks to fly the linked missions shown below. All CMDR's must keep a running total of their pilots who fly, and on November 15th they need to turn in a flgith report of who flew.

  1. TIE-FREE Battle #160 - Colossus: Gold Rush
  2. TIE-FREE Battle #168 - Colossus Wing VIII Starfighter Overhaul

Yes as you may have noticed that the missions to fly were created by yours truely for the ship. So get out there and fly them to your best ability. I want to see alot of pilots doing this comp. Last time I believe we only had a few. Lets try and show are participation by being extremely active for this okay :) The current ISDCA Champ is Major Zystem Fryar, will he be the reining champ?

Hall of the Grand Knight - (HGK):

Will start off on November 1st. Jsut waiting to see who will e-mail accepting the challenge to fly. On November 4th which is plenty of time for everyone to contact me, I will announce the matches and missions to fly. So ya better hurry and submit your names so I can place them in the pool to see who will fly against who in the first round. If your not familiar with the rulz then I suggest you brush up on these, so visit the HGK website at Hall of the Grand Knight make sure you read the rules carefully. They are not difficult, but they don't tolerate certain areas as stated, so please understand the rules of engagment. If there are any questions contact the Hall moderators.

Command Changes
None.

Shopping List
There are a couple at the top for the ISDCA comp. So get to your fighters and FLY, FLY, FLY!

Lastly, like I said before, if you want some easy medals, then go fly. I have in the past awarded, ISMs for flying 20+ missions, PCs for flying 40+ missions, and BSs for flying 80+ missions. So if your game for a medal then go fly, its not hard just takes a little of your time and patience. Medals for the past week will be awarded after I submit this report as I will be submitting them right after :P

Reviews

Egroups
Seems things are alittle slow but thats due to some restraints in everyones activity. So Come one lets pick up the chatter and fill those e-mail boxes. A small reminder to the CMDR's, is you need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC VA Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report you will need to contact me via my e-mail at: LC Absolut Vodka (absolutv@isdcolossus.com) or simply add the Colossus egroup addy at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) to the TO: line. I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal.

IRC
This is a better means of chat among our members. Things are picking up but lets get some of our newer members on-line IRC, however, things are picking up, really! Unfortunately my time on-line has been cut short to mostly weekends, as I have lots do to. Lastly, make sure you use the undernet when you sign on, then go to Channel #isd_colossus. This is where you'll find the most talkative of the Wing :)

Message Boards

Colossus Website
Absolut Vodka Has updated the War Room page. So go take a look.

Academics

  1. 8 IWATS courses passed by Colossus Pilots this week..
    • Adrian Tepes ----> M/1, M/2, IIC/1, IIC/2, IIC/3, SM/2
    • Aero Slasher ----> SM/2, TM
    • Trideo Arkson ----> M/1
  2. Looks like only one got awarded an ISM this week. If an ISM sounds cool to you then we can help you get an easy ISM. Just apply yourself for a few minutes of your day and do 4 IWATS courses for the week and you'll get one too! But they must be completed and passed within the reporting week or it doesn't count :P And CMDR's don't forget to try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF STATISTICS
Okay here we are at the heart of the Wing. The things we've all waited all month to see. Well maybe you don't want to see it but here it is anyway :P . But just remember, don't cheat to get that high score, as it will put your career in danger, trust me. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

  1. Colossus totals for October:
    • Total BSF's: 234
Total Missions: 1,019 <---now thats alot better don't ya think :)
  1. Colossus final totals for September:
    • Total BSF's: 167
      Total Missions: 674

Looks like we've surpassed our September goal. An outstanding job pilots! Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

  1. Top 5 Pilots of the Week
Looks much better this week and for the end of the month. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last week showing off their BSF stats:
    1. LT Adrian Tepes: 25 BSF's, 100 missions
    2. MAJ Zystem Fryar: 20 BSF's, 94 missions
    3. CPT Avantar: 15 BSF's, 61 missions
    4. CPT Daniel Klivian: 8 BSF's, 33 missions
    5. CM Dave Darklighter: 3 BSF's, 14 missions

My congratz to LT Adrian Tepes in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show this past week! MAJ Zystem Fryar was on his arse but Tepes managed to pull it off taking the top gun award away from ZF for the week! Well it looks like PI finally lost the big cookie the POW title giving it up to Nu. Good job Tepes!

  1. Top 5 Pilots of the Month for October
    1. MAJ Zystem Fryar: 54 BSF's, 275 missions
    2. CPT Avantar: 30 BSF's, 148 missions
    3. LT Adrian Tepes: 25 BSF's, 100 missions
    4. CPT Daniel Klivian: 12 BSF's, 55 missions (tied for 4th
    5. LCM Mark Schueler: 12 BSF's, 55 missions (tied for 4th)
    6. CM Kalve Ryder: 18 BSF's, 47 missions

Congratz to MAJ Zystem Fryar for being the Top Gun for October. Keep up the good work.

Top Squadron of the Week
I have to say congratulations to Pi Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award again for the third week! They did it by flying for: 38 BSF's and 163 missions for the week. Outstanding activity guys! They kept a steady pace through out the week thus earning them the title of Squadron of the Week for the third straight week. Good job guys! Maybe Mell will award something for this. I mean this is like an astonishing come back from a squadron who was once gonna be shut down for lack of activity!

Top Squadron of the Month for October
Everyone congratulate PI Squadron! I think they broke a few squadron records now with an overall 452 missions for the month of October. No one even came close to touching this mark. It seemed that getting Squadron of the Month was a real pressing issue for PI. Now that they have gotten it I wonder what their goals will be now? But getting the SOM earns them the right to the WC's Own award for October. Great Job!

Rats Extermination
Have to wait until next round

Squadron Summaries

Once again the final rankings of the squadrons for October. Wanna see how your squad is holding up? Listed with them is the amount of BSF's and missions they did over the month. Take a look below at the order they have performed during October:

  1. Pi Squadron: 91 BSF's, 452 missions
  2. Eta Squadron: 29 BSF's, 134 missions
  3. Nu Squadron: 32 BSF's, 129 missions
  4. Mu Squadron: 38 BSF's, 129 missions
  5. Omicron Squadron: 28 BSF's, 114 missions
  6. Iota Squadron: 16 BSF's, 61 missions
Well there ya have it. Pi taking it again as usual. They had an outstanding show this month. If there was a squadron that had the chance to catch PI then they would have had to do some serious flying! I think we'll see a more competition between squadrons now to earn the WC's Own. But who knows maybe not. But I would like to see more fighting for the top honors :). Pi has held on to the finish and has beaten the best of the squads to be the best for October! Great Job guys, keep up the good work. Stay tuned to the Colossus network, as it can only get better!

Miscellanous

Well as you can see there was alittle bit that happened this week along with some drastic changes during October! I send my congratz to PI again for wining the top honors and becoming the next WC's Own and getting the Squadron of the Month for the Wing. Looks like they get to hold the title until the next squad is picked, unless they think they can keep it? Hmmm...what a concept Pi taking it 2 months in a row? Now that would be something to see.

Well crap I've gone and done it. I've totally blanked out. Between writing this report, giving out candy and watching the baby, while the wife makes supper has totally done me in tonight :( which sucks really cuz I know I had more to say. But hey, I'm sure you all don't wanna hear me ranting and raving right? But its okay if I send out my praises for you though right? Well you guys and gals of Wing VIII have done and been totally outstanding for the month of October only :P (jokeing of course). No really I'm proud of you all and I hope we can continue this as we have been.

But I leave with these last words. When the last part of ECR comes, GET TO IT AND DON'T LET UP! We don't need anyone trying to give us a competition for the title which we know is OURS! Also stand by, as talks will be continuing with the Challenge for the next Wing vs Wing comp. Until next week, stay safe, be aware, and by all means WHAT YOUR SIX!
