WING VIII Weekly Report

Week Ending 09.01.01

Wing News
(Note: Any replies to anything in here should be made to the Colossus Egroups at (isdcolossus@yahoogroups.com) or me individually at (absolutv@isdcolossus.com). Don't just hit Reply all. It is done like this so I can be sure that everyone gets the report)

Well it has been a very trying almost couple of weeks for me, and I'm truely sorry for the extra week delay in sending my report. But I have been working franticly to get stuff done at my house waiting for my newborn to arrive. You'll be happy to know that the bedroom the baby will sleep in is finished, (YAY!) Which gives alittle more time to spend getting some more Wing activities for us to do :). And this:

In order to Prepare for the upcoming Excercise Cantina Run Wing VIII and the ISD Colossus are advising All Pilots to write Fiction: 500+ Words, Must be About the BATTLEGROUPS, and Must Include all 4 ships. Preferebly About the Cantina Run itself, and emphasis on the Characters on Board the ISD Colossus. Also try to get some Graphics together and get ready to fly. Full Rules and Comps To come soon!

As far as I can tell we still have a couple small squadron comps going on, so if your involved please participate where possible. I will be working with the CMDR's and try to get all comps cleared soon so that we can concentrate on the ECR, for when ever it comes around. Not only that, standby to have another Wing vs WIng comp soon. I'm talking with a couple of WC's and as soon as stuff is finalized then we'll be off on another run to keep our sanity and Honor of winning.

Congrats to CPT RAF for winning the BGAPL comp and getting the Ace title award for the Colossus. I beleive a congratz is in order. New stuff on-line to fly, new battles, new free missions, etc go check out the TC.org domain. Especially the Flight Office website and READ THE RULES! Any other rules for you CMDR's GO RE-READ THE SM/2 manual! There are certain things you can and can not do, and it would be to your benefit for me to list them all here, as it is I already post enough. But I encourage you to go check out that info, as it may have change since you last read it.

I do and frankly I see alot of mistakes being made lately, and I want to correct that, so this requires you to go read the rules gents and or ladies! I might say that the FL's should read the SM/2 manual again. Why you wonder why I say this????? Well here is the answer, I'm gonna be sending you questions on a frequent basis, you will be required to answer them they will be shall we say a kind of oral board for you CMDR's and a small test for you FL's. I just wanna make sure that you know the information, just in case someone may ask you.....LIKE ME! :)

Not only that...its an order so get HOT!

Colossus Standing Orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

Shortened for your convenience.

BGAPL - Battlegroups Ace Pilot League
Now after yet another round of the BGAPL we have a winner! Yes we do. And the newest Colossus Pilot to hold the BGAPL title is:

CPT RAF with a score of 45,089. Good job RAF!

Hopefully now we can keep it legitimate across the board this time. Now there was only 7 members that flew this time, which was not good at all. And of course our COM is slightly pissed at this. Please try and remember that when we have a comp, all others take a back seat until the main events are cleared.

Command Changes
None.

Shopping List

Okay here we go, I have a short shopping list for ya. Fly TC-TIE's: #176, 177 for a mini comp for the wing. We need to have our own title holder onboard who will it be? Its for the Colossus Ace round #1. Since the BG has the BGAPL, then we'll have the ISDCA. Anyone thinks they are up to the challenge from me?. Who will it be? Will it be you? We'll see, when the round is finished and who the lucky candidate is! So get flying ASAP!

Reviews

Egroups
Overall the chatting is slowing down again, can't explain why this time, and I don't have a clue. We do need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report then please only hit reply and send it to me, or hit reply and add the Colossus egroup addy at (isdcolossus@yahoogroups.com). I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal. Thats why I send the mail this way.

IRC
Getting better, just need to help others find there way to the #isd_colossus chat room.

Message Boards
I have an idea, but you have to contact me first.

Colossus Website
Absolut Vodka is working on some good stuff for the website, just gotta find alittle more time and it will be done. Just stay tuned to the Colossus news section for updates as they are made :).

Okay were back in the saddle again. Looks like we got some real go getters out there for once! Still no one got the amount of 5 this time, so no ISM for you :P . CMDR's try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF's - STATISTICS
As near as I can tell all BSF's that were on hold by the TAC Office have been fulfilled. So all stats this week are generated with every BSF I received since last Sunday. You'll be suprised maybe, especially when you see the stats for the month to date. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

Colossus totals for August (totally incredible!):

Total BSF's: 308
Total Missions: 1,183 (outstanding job gang!)

Colossus totals for July:

July
Total BSF's: 128
Total Missions: 880

Now don't that beat all? It would seem we beat out last month by over 200 missions flown. A very good month for the Colossus. I only hope we save some battles and missions for the ECR whenever it gets here. Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

Top 5 Pilots of the Week
Now you'll see some different names this time, simply amazing I say. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last 2 weeks showing off their BSF stats:

CM Avantar: 28 BSF's, 141 missions
MAJ Zystem Fryar: 4 BSF's, 47 missions (can ya believe it, his name is here again! Good job ZF)
LT Bizzare: 7 BSF's, 26 missions
CM Andrew Strinder: 3 BSF's, 14 missions
CM Anthony Starr: 2 BSF's, 10 missions

My congratz to CM Avantar in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show these past 2 weeks! CM Avantar is definitely taking the top gun award this time!

Top 5 Pilots of the Month for August

CM Avantar: 64 BSF's, 325 missions
MAJ Zystem Fryar: 26 BSF's, 170 missions
CM Daniel Klivian: 39 BSF's, 117 missions

Top Squadron of the Week
Over all I have to say congratulations to Pi Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award. They did it by flying for: 33 BSF's and 189 missions. Outstanding showmanship good job guys! Lets see if they can keep it up for next month ;)

Squadron Summaries

Mu Squadron: Looks as though they are running into tuff times again. Dunno if its school or just the lack of interest is taking its toll on Mu. We'll see if the month of September brings a better show. They did however, have a run down with Omicron and won! Their pilot: LT Janus took the comp by getting the highest scoring battle, as well as getting the highs for the battle board itself. Its good to see atleast one or two being active. One good thing came from Mu this month, they did manage to come in second place for the top squadron of the month, I guess this make a small statement :) Als I need to mention that LCM Kalve Ryder took first place in the Omicron Banner comp (Good Job!)

Nu Squadron: The CMDR made it back from leave unscathed, and took a hold of the reins when there was and undecided bunch of A-CMDR's during his time off. However, he came back, got it all straight and now has a hold back on his squadron again. Nu was alittle low on activity, coming in 5th for activity this month. I guess their plagued with more members getting jobs or having a ruff time in school this round. The CMDR did start a Motto comp for the Wing so we'll see if they pick up activity in the coming month.

PI Squadron: Well now this is the squadron to beat. These guys, or rather I should say a select few managed to make them the #1 squadron onboard this month! Just goes to show ya what a little team work will do for ya. Of course there is the fair round of heavy flyers this month, which brought all other squadrons to their knees! They topped the charts with and overall 95 BSF's and 502 missions flown for the month of August. Which is a feat for any squadron in the fleet to do. I have to say they definitely earned the #1 spot this month. Some to be rewarded, maybe?

Omicron Squadron: They were alittle behind the power curve as well, coming in 4th for the month. But overall, due to one or two who can't fly they just had a steady input and an overall moderate activity this month. I hope to see more stuff come from them. I know they can do it, I have worked with the crew before and they are all good, just a bit of hard times I guess. Did manage to run a Banner comp and get that completed Well better luck next month guys!

Iota Squadron: Then there is Iota....the last squadron of the polls this month. Coming in 6th will a lower than average, with also having pilots who can't fly makes it rather difficult for them to even get really noticed. But I have confidence in them. They have only just re-open in the latter half of August, and for that did an excellent job for activity, atleast from those who could contribute. Come on guys show us what you got :)

Eta Squadron: Okay now for the assassins. They managed to come in 3rd place for the month for activity, which gives them a better than average of activity. One of their contributers of activity was lost to Omicron today as LCM Wysseri Arestar left to assume a FL position. Well as they say, alls well that ends well. I guess in order to get some things accomplished you must take on other challenges. I know the assissins have it in them to go far, since their star member CM NightGrue has doen outstandingly well in keeping with his Baron rights. He has managed to keep scoring high scores everytime I turn around. Good CM NightGrue. But I hear there is another onboard whos gunning for some highs too, so watch out! All in all they did well this month!

Remeber there are benifits for being the Top Squadron, what are they I don't know save one....Its getting the WC's own for the month, is the biggest benifit! Which means what! You got it, good ole' PI takes the WC's own for the month of August. Congratulations to you PI, take the honor flag and fly it proudly..As the WC hands the flag to its CMDR. Take care of it, you only get to keep it for a month or will they? We'll see.

Miscellanous

All in all The ship has been prospering well. A fair amount of activity from a number of pilots. Even our CMDR's have gotten involved, which is highly unusual. I guess that means that their pilots aren't creating enough activity to make the CMDR's work hard :P Oh well, I think there is much potential with the Wing considering we have flown for 2 Wing vs Wing comps and came out on top both times. Well we'll see how the Titans collide next round as yet another Wing vs Wing comp is in the works.

I expect another win, but I'm not jumping to conclusions just yet. We'll have to see how the boys and gals hold up. Since we're desperately awaiting news for the ECR comp which hopefully will be soon! But until then we'll see if any squadrons takes the challenge with my mini comp I've mentioned above, its the new Colossus Ace comp round #1 I want to see whos the best and this should prove it. It would seem that I will be going on a trip soon and I'm looking for an escort pilot to be my wingman, the winner of the Ace comp will be that pilot, so lets see if anyone cares to try for it! Until next week....
