I do have to say that after last week getting the TCCOM's Award was something definitely unexpected. It shows that we are doing something right even if activity seems abit down. But hey GOOD JOB you guys and gals. Again I say we couldn't have done it without you. Just let it be known that I tried to post a news posting on TC.org, but apparently it wasn't important enough to be considered :( but I'll post here what I was going to have posted on the news page just so you know:

Subject: TCCOM's Award
<Salute>

I would like to post my Congratulations on TC.org to the entire ISD Colossus. They have done a wonderful job and have now been awarded the TCCOM's Award for their valiant efforts. I would just like to express my sincerest gratitude for the hard work and dedication to all pilots onboard the ISD Colossus. They are truely an outstanding group of people who are fun to work with. I'm glad they are all here on the Colossus, because without them we wouldn't be where we are today. Thanks guys and gals for showing what it takes to be a team with the dedication you've shown us by helping the ship attain the TCCOM's Award.

Thank you for your support.

------END MESSAGE------

So you see I did try to post something :) Anyway on to other things. ZF got a virus so he never got me a Squad report. Nu just had a change of Command so no report from them. Mu Squadron ahs a comp with Omega squadron again, so they can see if they can route the old geezers. LC Indaro Gallia and LCM Wysseri Arestar will be taking a brief Leav of absence from the 15th to the 18th because its Wyss's B-Day.

Remember we have brought back the Wing meetings in case you don't know. We hold Wing meetings every sunday in the #isd_colossus channel at 02:00pm EST (01:00pm CST, 7:00pm GMT). Just sign on to IRC using the undernet servers and join us. It's a time when you can voice your opinion and be heard. After the meetings we usually have a question and answer time for you to ask the WC and COM questions of things you need answers to or something that we have put out and you don't understand.

A note for the comp we got going on. VA Mell has gotten a slight bit upset since not that many have entered his comps. So get to them. Show right below here is the deatils for those comps.
  • http://www.imperialacademy.org/compdetails.asp?ID=938
  • http://www.imperialacademy.org/compdetails.asp?ID=937
ISDCA #2 is going on right now! So get flying ASAP! I have only seen a couple of you get involved. This is not good. the same goes for the HGK comp. The reason why I say this is because we have 2 more Wing vs Wing comps on the way. One of them is with Wing V and the other is with Wing XI. We need to see max submissions cus this will ensure we get the best score possible. But if you don't participate then we'll lose and break our current winning streak of 3 for 3. And if we lose you'll be horse whipped and keel hauled. :P Okay now for the rest of the report. A small note though, it does seem we had a bit of flying activity this past week, only thing was, they flying wasn't for the proer things like ongoing COMPs!

One thing I forgot to mention was congradulations to our very own CPT Avantar who travels on to bigger and better things by taking the reins of Stalker Squadron. We'll all miss ya Avy good luck. Don't forget where your home truely lies. We also welcome some new Sl's who have since made it to the rank of LT, as well as a couple of old timers who have come back from the RSV's or elsewhere to serve on our glorious SHIP! Now onto the rest!

Colossus Standing Orders
Colossus Standing Orders
Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

This has been shortened for you. The rest maybe seen on the ISD Colossus website.

ISDCA - ISD Colossus Ace Competition Round #2
Has been extended until the end of the week due to some tech errors. You still have some time to fly the linked missions shown below. All CMDR's must keep a running total of their pilots who fly, and on November 15th they need to turn in a pilot flight report of who flew to me.

  1. TIE-FREE Battle #160 - Colossus: Gold Rush
  2. TIE-FREE Battle #168 - Colossus Wing VIII Starfighter Overhaul

The current ISDCA Champ is Major Zystem Fryar, will he be the reining champ?

Hall of the Grand Knight - (HGK):

Will start off on November 1st. Jsut waiting to see who will e-mail accepting the challenge to fly. On November 4th which is plenty of time for everyone to contact me, I will announce the matches and missions to fly. So ya better hurry and submit your names so I can place them in the pool to see who will fly against who in the first round. If your not familiar with the rulz then I suggest you brush up on these, so visit the HGK website at Hall of the Grand Knight make sure you read the rules carefully. They are not difficult, but they don't tolerate certain areas as stated, so please understand the rules of engagment. If there are any questions contact the Hall moderators.

Command Changes

CM Mark Shueler takes command of Nu Squadron.

Shopping List

There are a couple at the top for the ISDCA comp. So get to your fighters and FLY, FLY, FLY! There are some medals which are still pending, meaning I haven't gotten the time yet to submit them, but after this report is posted then I will submit them, so stand by.

Lastly, like I said before, if you want some easy medals, then go fly. I have in the past awarded, ISMs for flying 20+ missions, PCs for flying 40+ missions, and BSs for flying 80+ missions. So if your game for a medal then go fly, its not hard just takes a little of your time and patience. Medals for the past week will be awarded after I submit this report as I will be submitting them right after :P

Reviews

Egroups
Things are picking up a bit now, school must be easing up a bit. So come one lets pick up the chatter and fill those e-mail boxes. A small reminder to the CMDR's, is you need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC VA Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report you will need to contact me via my e-mail at: LC Absolut Vodka (absolutv@isdcolossus.com) or simply add the Colossus egroup addy at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) to the TO: line. I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal.

IRC
This is a better means of chat among our members. Things are picking up but lets get some of our newer members on-line IRC, however, things are picking up, really! Unfortunately my time on-line has been cut short to mostly weekends, as I have lots do to. Lastly, make sure you use the undernet when you sign on, then go to Channel #isd_colossus. This is where you'll find the most talkative of the Wing :)

Message Boards

Go post! ISD Colossus Message Board. I've made a few posts have you?

Colossus Website

Absolut Vodka Has been doing some behind the scenes stuff again. But again you won't see them yet. I finally got my PWS (Personal Web Server) running on my computer so it gives me the ability to test the website without distracting from the current site. I'm in the process of redesigning the way it looks and should be done soon, so stay tuned to the Colossus news page for further developements.

Academics

  1. "8" IWATS courses passed by Colossus Pilots this week..
    • Wysseri Arestar ----> SM/2
    • Adrian Tepes ----> TM, ICQ
    • Wap Eal ----> SM/2, mIRC1
    • Executor ----> IIC/1, TM
    • Talas ----> TM
  2. Looks like noone got awarded an ISM again this week. IWATS courses for the Colossus is picking up again, I'm glad to see it. It shows that our pilots are working towards being more knowledgeable. If an ISM sounds cool to you then we can help you get an easy ISM. Just apply yourself for a few minutes of your day and do 4 IWATS courses for the week and you'll get one too! But they must be completed and passed within the reporting week or it doesn't count :P And CMDR's don't forget to try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF STATISTICS
Okay here we are at the heart of the Wing. The things we've all waited all month to see. Well maybe you don't want to see it but here it is anyway :P . But just remember, don't cheat to get that high score, as it will put your career in danger, trust me. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

  1. Colossus totals for November thus far:
    • Total BSF's: 148
      Total Missions: 656 <---we're half way to last months totals!
  1. Colossus final totals for October:
    • Total BSF's: 234
      Total Missions: 1,019

Looks like we're trying to catch and surpass our October goal. Can we? Lets see what happens. Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

  1. Top 5 Pilots of the Week
    Looks good this week lots of flying was done. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last week showing off their BSF stats:
    1. LT Adrian Tepes: 21 BSF's, 96 missions
    2. CM Wap Eal: 7 BSF's, 60 missions
    3. MAJ Zystem Fryar: 9 BSF's, 46 missions
    4. LT Talas: 5 BSF's, 28 missions
    5. CM Phalk Sturm: 5 BSF's, 24 missions

My congratz to LT Adrian Tepes in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show this past week! CM Wap Eal was close but just couldn't pull it off! Good job!

Congratz to MAJ Zystem Fryar for being the Top Gun for October. Keep up the good work.

Top Squadron of the Week
I have to say congratulations to Eta Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award! They did it by flying for: 43 BSF's and 214 missions so far. Outstanding activity guys! Will they manage to get WC's own next month? Stay tuned its starting to heat up!

Top Squadron of the Month for October
Everyone congratulate PI Squadron! I think they broke a few squadron records now with an overall 452 missions for the month of October. No one even came close to touching this mark. It seemed that getting Squadron of the Month was a real pressing issue for PI. Now that they have gotten it I wonder what their goals will be now? But getting the SOM earns them the right to the WC's Own award for October. Great Job!

Squadron Summaries

Once again the final rankings of the squadrons for October. Wanna see how your squad is holding up? Listed with them is the amount of BSF's and missions they did over the month. Take a look below at the order they have performed during November thus far:

  1. Eta Squadron: 43 BSF's, 214 missions
  2. Pi Squadron: 41 BSF's, 201 missions
  3. Nu Squadron: 25 BSF's, 115 missions
  4. Omicron Squadron: 15 BSF's, 57 missions
  5. Mu Squadron: 18 BSF's, 52 missions
  6. Iota Squadron: 6 BSF's, 17 missions
Well there ya have it. Eta taking it for the first time in a long time. They have an outstanding show this month so far. I'm wondering will they hold out to take WC's Own? Or will they have a fight to the death with PI whose right on their heels. Finally we see a fight for the top honors :). Stay tuned to the Colossus network, as it can only get better!

Miscellanous

Finally the Wing is performing great! It looks like the team is becoming a well oiled machine and ready to take on the universe. But can we? Well only time will tell. Coming soon are two more Wing vs Wing comps can we make them our 4th and 5th wins to keep us on top and ahead of the game for the Fleet? We'll see, apparently the fight is on. Now we got two Wings reay to take us on, they are Wing V and Wing XI. Good luck crew, lets stomp the dog crap out of them.

Okay now for a little BS session. It seems as though some of us desire to have promotions, okay well most of us do. But something to think about. If you haven't been promoted yet then a few things might have happened. Either your activity is very low, only warranting a simple medal or your not doing something your CMDR, or the COM or myself wants to see as far as activity. Take a look at your activity. What are you doing? Do you think its enough? If you were a CMDR, would you promote someone in your shoes doing the same level of activity your doing now? If the answer is yes, then you should have a talk with your CMDR. If your not satisfied with his answer then bring the matter to me.

But remember look at your daily activity level, and answer those questions. Because remember this, the COM and I see everything you do for the most part and can determine a course of action for you. But be prepared for you may not receive the answer you so desire. If your not sure what you need to do to get that next promotion, then again ask your CMDR, cuz he is the one who will recommend you for your next promotion, so he will be able to tell you what he looks for in his pilots. We are here to help you get far but only you can do the work to get there, not us. The reason why we are in the positions and ranks that we have is because of the level of hard work we have put into getting here.

It goes with out saying, that if I missed something let me know. Theres alot of stuff going on so its quite possible I have forgotten. So don't be shy just tell me okay! Thats all for this week, Until next week, stay safe, be aware, and by all means WHAT YOUR SIX!
