WING VIII Weekly Report

Week Ending 09.24.01

Wing News
(Note: Any replies to anything in here should be made to the Colossus Egroups at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com) or me individually at (absolutv@isdcolossus.com). Don't just hit Reply all. It is done like this so I can be sure that everyone gets the report)

Finally here we are at the latest edition of the Wing VIII report. As you know and I won't go into grave detail, we actually accomplished having a meeting this past Sunday Woo Hoo go us! This was a good meeting for those who attended, and bad for those who didn't >:P I would like to express my thanks to those who actually showed up and gave their inputs where it counted. I have received a couple of e-mails in response to several issues brought up at the meeting, and they will be looked at with care, trust me.

As you know we have implemented some good orders these days along with a new kind of teamwork issues. Wha? you say? Well part of it was the fact that we as a Wing need better communications, part of that was to ensure that you got the Wing News first. Hence the reason why you see this now :) Next was to get your inputs as a whole to me from you. Meaning that if you have an idea, then send it along to me and Mell. We (I promise) to take your inputs and review them and if they are a good enough thing to do then we will do it! BTW, I've sent out a copy of the meeting for Sunday and if you haven't gotten it or seen it then drop me a line and I'll send it to you.

Also we have a Wing vs Wing comp against Wing VI of the Sovereign. Well it doesn't start now so don't freak. But it does start soon, like Oct 1st and runs thru Oct 12th. The rulz have basically been worked out, but me and the Wing VI WC will finish this when the comp is over. The comp info has been submitted to the TO's office for approval, so get your fighters started. The battles to fly are as follows:

XWA-TC #14 and TIE-TC #173 just to give you a heads up. So get flying now so it won't be turned in late. We will be needing atleast 6 pilots to fly for each battle, and I know we have some who can fly both XWA and TIE, so don't let me down okay! Also to clarify a comp status. the ISDCA will be upon us shortly, so whos gonna take it this time? We'll see. The current ISDCA Ace is MAJ Zystem Fryar and he will hold this ship board only title until the next round is up. More details to follow later.

Lastly before I bore you :P is the newest and foremost addition to the Colossus hall of fun. With the help of CM Aidan Pryde, who I might remind you has done an outstanding job with the webpages for it, we are almost ready for business to open the site for you all to see. The name of it is called: The Hall of the Grand Knight. Which is based on a ladder type scene and so far it looks great. You will find it rather interesting to see when its finally up on the Colossus Domain. I'm hoping to have this ready and available for you to look at by this weekend. So get ready, me thinks it will be fun, and because its a ladder type comp it should for all purposes create lots of good clean competitive fun.

Lastly the next phase of ECR is upon us. As an earlier e-mail from our beloved COM, who knows and thinks we can take this, everyone should get busy working on their specialty for this phase. We have 6 squads and atleast 1 person from each squad made a fiction submission. So with that in mind it should help you with the mission buidling. Why? Because we really already have the plots, that is if you don't wanna take the time to make another plotline. Cuz just from what I've seen there were some good story lines that came out, which would be very good in helping with the mission creation. All you have to do is make a single free mission, not a battle so this will be easy. If you need some help with this I will do what I can. All you need to do is just ask me.

If drake is around then he can offer an abundance of information to help make this real fun. But if not, I know I can help, and Mell, and possibly several others. So if your good with a specialty like Mell stated, then by all means tell us in the egroups and get your talents known. We need all the support we can muster for this. And remember, all we need is 7 submissions, since us the Flag officers are a squadron by ourselves :P if you need any information for this feel free to contact me anytime. Now onto the rest of the report :) Good day!

Colossus Standing Orders

Standing Order #1: (RL) Real Life first!
Of course the first and foremost thing is RL. It is highly recommended to take all RL matters first and before all ship functions, unless you just don't care. I would like to enforce this order to all members. But please be reminded that you should inform your superiors of any situation so that we can count you on LOA, and don't forget to mark your profile stating your on Leave. Even if your only going to be on leave for 2 days, please mark your absence. This way if it takes longer than we know where you are and won't count you as MIA/AWOL.

Shortened for you. The rest maybe seen on the ISD Colossus website.

ISDCA - ISD Colossus Ace Competition Round #2 - coming to a theater near you :)
Our first round proved to rather fun, and giving us a winner out of Pi, and would you believe it was the CMDR of all people? Well congratz go to MAJ Zystem Fryar who won the last round and can call himself the Colossus Ace for now >:) We'll see if he can manage to keep the title. Now that Darknyte is back ZF may have some competition. I appreciate all who participated in the first round so don't feel bad if you didn't do that well. You'll get another chance honest :)

Hall of the Grand Knight
Coming soon, so keep watching the news headlines :)

Command Changes
None.

Shopping List
Wooooo yes we got some this time :). First of all go fly XWA-TC #14, and TIE-TC #173. Even if you've done it do it again, but this time try harder to get the best score you possibly can. Cuz we're going up against a good Wing off the Sovereign, and we'll need the best scores to beat them. Everyone is free to fly it, but only the top 12, 6 for XWA and 6 for TIE will be the recorded scores for the total score for the ship. I'll give you more details on this as the time draws closer to the comp.

Lastly, like I said, if you want some easy medals, then go fly. I have in the past awarded, ISMs for flying 20+ missions, PCs for flying 40+ missions, and BSs for flying 80+ missions. So if your game then go fly, its not hard just takes a little of your time and patience. Medals for the past week will be awarded after I submit this report as i will be submitting them right after :P

Reviews

Egroups
Overall the chatting is picking up again, this is a good thing. We do need to make sure that everyone is part of their egroups to ensure they get all mail sent to them. Just make sure you CC Mell on all communiqués. I don't want him being left out! Remember if you reply to this Wing Report then please only hit reply and send it to me, or hit reply and add the Colossus egroup addy at (ISD-Colossus@yahoogroups.com). I can't express this enough. Because if your reply is trivial then the others don't need to see it, as well as being personal. Thats why I send the mail this way.

IRC
Getting much better, just need to lend a helping hand to those who are not there to get them there! So send them to the #isd_colossus chat room. I am also present most of the time now, but you can find me in the #ISDC channel if I'm not in the main Colossus channel. Cuz I don't want to just hang out in the Colossus channel and not answer. If you see me in my office, then msg me. If I don't answer you while your on-line then expect a mail from me alittle while after. This will be on of my ways to better help you out if your in need and can't reach me.

Message Boards
I have an idea, but you have to contact me first.

Colossus Website
Absolut Vodka is working on some updates, updates, updates sheesh, all these people coming and going, taking a leave of absence and never coming back. Hmm..anyone ever tell them they should hang out for atleast long enough to make LCM? :P

Academics
9 wooooo... IWATS courses passed by Colossus Pilots this week..
Executor ----> TT
Wysseri Arestar ----> ICQ
Kalve Ryder ----> AIM, CBX
Derrek Wolf ----> AIM
Trideo Arkson ----> AIM
Phalk Sturm ----> AIM
Alain Dindareanu ----> AIM
Absolut Vodka ----> ASP, CBX

Can ya believe it? I actually did 2 IWATS courses for the week, I almst got myself an ISM. Now do you want an easy ISM. Sound cool? You could get one, all you have to do is apply yourself for a few minutes of your day and do 4 IWATS courses and you'll get one too! But they must be completed and passed within the reporting week or it doesn't count :P And CMDR's don't forget to try and atleast get those who you think will be promising Officers for the future to take the SM/2 course.

BSF's - STATISTICS
As near as I can tell all BSF's that were on hold by the TAC Office have been fulfilled. So all stats this week are generated with every BSF I received since last Sunday. You'll be suprised maybe, especially when you see the stats for the month to date. Now onto the overall stats for the Wing.

Colossus totals for September thus far:

Total BSF's: 131
Total Missions: 532 (month is still young)

Colossus totals for August:

August
Total BSF's: 308
Total Missions: 1,183

Squadron and pilot breakdown coming up.

Top 5 Pilots of the Week
Now you'll see some different names this time, simply amazing I say. Here are the Top 5 Pilots for the last 2 weeks showing off their BSF stats:

LT Zept Leeartic: 13 BSF's, 66 missions
LCM Oorl Quygg: 9 BSF's, 45 missions
LCM Mark Schueler: 11 BSF's, 42 missions
CM Aidan Pryde: 7 BSF's, 32 missions
CM Kodiak Kereban: 5 BSF's, 24 missions

My congratz to LT Zept Leeartic in winning the POW (Pilot of the Week)! He took it away and made an outstanding show this past week! LT Zept Leeratic is the one to beat this time taking the top gun award this time!

Top 5 Pilots of the Month for September

Will be better noted after next week :P

Congratulations to all the top pilots for the month of September so far :P

Top Squadron of the Week
Over all I have to say congratulations to Nu Squadron, as they take the SOW (Squadron of the Week) award. They did it by flying for: 35 BSF's and 150 missions. Outstanding showmanship good job guys! Lets see if they can keep it up until the end of the month ;) One thing to note here, is that Eta are right on thier heels. They currently hold 36 BSF's with 150 missions. Nu beat them out because they got 1 less BSF's with the same total missions. Uh oh looks like there might be some competition soon you think?

Top Squadron of the Month for August
Everyone congratulate PI Squadron! They have topped the charts with an overall 502 missions for the month of August. Good job!

Rats Extermination
Have to wait until next time :P

Medals

I don't see any stinkin medals being passed out. Hmmm...can anyone tell me why not? Well some from me will be coming in a day or so :P For those of you who completed 20 or more missions this past week, you will be seeing some ISM's coming your way as I promised before.

Squadron Summaries

Okay once again the rankings of the squadrons. Wanna see how your squad is holding up? Take a look below at the order they are performing at the moment for September:

1) Nu Squadron (tied for first place)
1) Eta Squadron (tied for first place)
2) Iota Squadron
3) PI Squadron
4) Mu Squadron

Well there ya have it. Eta making a suprising come back for the squadron level breakdown. Looking pretty good wouldn't ya say? But the month is young like I said, and we have plenty of time to see this ranking change hands. Hmm... might be a tad bit of competitiveness here. I wonder whats gonna happen next week? Stay tuned it can only get better!

Miscellanous

Well not much gonna be here today, since I've said most of it at the Wing news above. For the Fleet news look below as the format of the Wing report starts to change around a bit. I'll let it be as it is now, and you guys decide whats gonna happen next week :) BTW, go to the ISD-Colossus Polls and place your vote. You wanna be heard? Then go vote! Address is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ISD-Colossus/polls

Enjoy. And don't forget to vist the Colossus Website as things develope it will be announced there. So until next week, stay safe and be aware....
