General Information

· We’re back to 50 pilots this week! This is a great celebration, and I am informed by various sources that we have yet more pilots still waiting to join us! Wing XIV, your continued success and activity in both SP and MP activities continue to bring incredible focus on the ISD Intrepid and Wing XIV! I receive multiple emails and comments on mIRC each week about how great a job the CMDR’s and Flag Officers in other parts of the Fleet think we are doing! The fact that we have proven that we can continue this level of activity, and even increase it as well, each month only serves to prove that with the right attitude and dedication we are achieving a new level of success that I’m sure the FO would love to see repeated in every other Wing in the Fleet! Keep up the great work Wing XIV!! J

· The Wing V vs. Wing XIV Competition is now officially underway. Remember to check the details in the “Wing Competitions” section below! I expect to see no less than 75% participation in the SP segments, and no less than 50% in the MP! Although as WC I would prefer 100% in the SP, and at least 75% in the MP, I have to be realistic that there will always be a few pilots that tend to be lazy and blow off a big competition like this. However, anyone that fails to participate in any fashion will have to answer to the WC at the end of the competition. Trust me, you really don’t want to have to do that!! :P

· MAJ Frodo notified me that he had to suddenly go on leave. Apparently his father decided to give away their video card to a friend, and this has left Frodo without a reliable Internet connection at home for the time being. Needless to say Frodo is at as much of a loss as I am to explain why his father decided to do this, but in the meantime LCM Tissaya Argat is once again A-CMDR until his return! All Krayt pilots are to send their BSF’s to the Wing Commander until further notice! Be sure to CC: Tissy as well so that she is able to track the activity in her weekly report. Also, I expect everyone in Krayt to report in each week until Frodo returns. After that I will still expect everyone to report in each week. For that matter, that goes for everyone in Wing XIV, report in to your CMDR each week. This way if you’re unable to fly or have some other activity, at least they can say they heard from you! :P

· VA Brakka recently released a COM Report this week, mostly just to let everyone know he is alive, but also to pass on his thoughts regarding the transformation the ISD Intrepid and Wing XIV have undergone in recent months! VA Brakka had the following comments to say in his recent report:

“The Intrepid is a completely different ship compared to what it was this time last year, you have all done exceptionally well and have made this ole COM extremely proud. I am happy to say that we are now one of the most active ships in TC if not the most active, no one would of believed that we could of beaten the might of the Grey Wolf to become the ASF flag ship even six months ago. I would like to say a special thanks to Wil Striker our beloved WC who has worked tirelessly and fulfilled his duties to the highest degree.”

I agree with the COM, even though I joined Wing XIV in the last part of 2001, things have certainly changed this year for this glorious old ship and her squadrons! Every pilot in Wing XIV should take a moment to reflect on how your activity and dedication have contributed to these changes, and how your continued service to the ISD Intrepid will bring even greater success in the future! Your all doing a great job, and I believe the COM and I have managed each month to show just how much we admire the activity and dedication of our pilots through the MSE awards! CMDR’s, while I may get a bit rough from time to time regarding command duties and other matters, know that the COM and I appreciate your service and dedication to maintaining your individual squadrons! Wing XIV, you rock!!! J

· The COO has registered the EH in a new MP Competition on the Zone! All MP pilots are encouraged to attend the TIE Interceptor Infernal! It’s an XvT event that focuses on the use of T/I’s, something we pilots of the ASF excel at greatly, and a craft that the pilots of most other clubs try to avoid using at all costs. Therefore there is plenty of opportunity for our MP pilots to clear out some alien scum from these other clubs and win a ton of LoC’s in the process! The event runs from 7/12/2002 – 7/19/2002! The details can be found here!

· The next XvT WoW begins 7/19/2002, and starts right on the heels of the TIE Interceptor Infernal! The details for the start and ending dates of the next XvT WoW can be found here! The next XWA WoW begins on 7/26/2002, and the details for that event can be found here!

· This week a problem was brought to my attention. The pilot who notified me of this was correct in doing so, and I hope he doesn’t feel that he has betrayed the trust of his fellow officers in bringing this problem to my attention. In short, there will be NO cheating within Wing XIV! That means that if you are caught attempting to modify a battle, mission, or pilot file you will be submitted to the SO and HCI for punishment! If convicted, you most likely will find yourself expelled and banned from the EH! I hold a zero tolerance policy regarding cheating in this Wing, and many of the older pilots can attest to this as well and what I have done in the past to those found to be cheating. Do yourself a favor, if you can’t complete a mission, then go find a new mission or battle to complete. But under no circumstances will you be allowed to skip a mission or modify a pilot file in order to complete the battle or mission! Believe me, we will catch you, and if the TAC catches you then you might as well just leave the EH and never return, because rarely does anyone ever escape his wrath, or that of the XO! Now, I believe I have made myself clear on this matter, and you can be certain that the COM and BGCOM are in complete agreement on this matter. If there is any doubt about what I have told you here, feel free to read the TAC manual, where you will find all of this explained in full detail!

· I just love it when I see so many new pilots join our Wing all at once! It gives this WC Goosebumps thinking about how deprived all those other Wings and Squadrons in the Fleet are when we gain new active pilots! Hehehe! Keep recruiting folks; Wing XIV will be the biggest Wing in the entire Fleet in no time!! ;)

· Recently I have had some complaints from the CMDR’s that some of their pilots are doing Beta work for the CA:TAC. This is great, and I applaud everyone that is taking extra time to help correct and beta test the new missions and battles that the members of the TIE Corps are submitting! However, the CMDR’s have no way to track your activity with the TAC Office, so do them a favor and keep them apprised each week on your activity outside the Wing! Remember, we can’t award you medals and promotions if we aren’t aware of all the activity you have!! ;)

· Once again the ASF was handed an uneven battle by VA Pel in the recent clash between the Sov BG and the ASF this past Sunday! I haven’t heard yet how this is going to affect the ASF overall in the remaining days of the IS3, but you can be sure that none of the Flag Officers in the ASF were pleased by what happened. However, I do want to applaud the many members of Wing XIV who took the time to show up and root on their fellow pilots that were competing! The Sov pilots, the few that actually showed up, had a few things to say against the ASF and Wing XIV regarding our “cockiness” about our MP pilot’s abilities. But lets just say that several of us corrected them and they had little to say on that subject afterwards. ;)

Wing Competitions

· Wing V vs. Wing XIV Competition! That’s right ladies and gents, we are about to take on Wing V, the former Wing of your WC and COM! Essentially the details are very simple; fly XvT-TC #38, and XWA-TC #29 in the SP events. You are permitted to fly in both platforms. The Top winner in each platform will be awarded the IS-SW! The second place finisher in each Wing will each be awarded an IS-BW! We will also be running a MP segment, in which the Top Ace pilot who wins the most LoC’s during the comp period will be awarded an IS-SW! And the second place finishers in each Wing will receive an IS-BW! The full details can be found at http://www.emperorshammer.net/to/compdetails.asp?ID=1874, so everyone prepare to go to war! The competition will run from 7/10/02 – 8/7/02! CMDR’s will submit and track each pilot’s results and then submit a final report to me by 8/8/02!
· Wing XIV Recruiting Competition! The pilot who brings in the most new recruits to Wing XIV during the competition period will be awarded an IS-SR! The pilot who brings in the second highest number of recruits will be awarded an IS-BR! Full details can be found at http://www.emperorshammer.net/to/compdetails.asp?ID=1861!
· Krayt vs. Yod Squadron Competition! A 2-part flying competition:

1. Single Player flying: Fly XvT-FCHG-1. Squadron scores will be averaged across the number of pilots able to particiapte in the squadron (i.e. pilots on leave, or without XvT will not be counted). The winning squadron receives 100 pts; the losing squadron receives points equal to the percentage their score is of the winning score. Top individual score receives an IS-BW.

2. Multiplayer: 2 pilots from each squadron will face each other in a 2 v 2 melee. Squadron scoring will be based on percentage of top score, as above. If the melee can take place during an EH competition time, the winners will receive LoCs. If not, IS-BWs will be awarded.

The squadron with the highest total points after both events will be declared the winner. Further details can be found at http://www.emperorshammer.net/to/compdetails.asp?ID=1863!
· Cobra Gunner Of The Month - July
In the same vein as Cobra Ace of The Month we're going to have a monthly "Cobra Gunner" The same 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th system will be used. Here's how we'll determine the scoring.

For every Multiplayer victory at a Tie Corps Comp (#EHCOC), or in the Week Of War you will be credited with 'two' points for the weeks scoring. For every match you fly but lose, you will receive 'one' point.

If a pilot wins 2 matches but loses 5 they would have 'four' + 'five' points or 'nine' total points for the week. That will be how 1st/2nd/3rd/4th is determined. So not only will your winning help you,

but being active and flying matches will help as well.

The pilot who has the most weekly points at the end of the month will receive an Iron Star-Bronze Wings.
NOTE- Please email me after you fly in a comp if you don't win any matches because I only receive notification from the database if a pilot gets a LoC. It'll make it easier for me to track and compute scores. :)

ASF/TC News

· The ASF took a beating last Sunday, mostly due to some last minute changes that worked in favor of the Sov BG. No word yet on how this is going to affect the ASF overall in the remaining days of IS3!
· The BGCOM has announced that from now on only WC’s and higher will be permitted OP access in the ASF mIRC channel! That means that only the CMDR of Avenger Squadron, Wing Commander’s, Commodore’s and of course the Battle Group Commander will be permitted to hold OPs!
· ASF/Sov BG’s win in a mutual tie in the Imperial Storm 3! Apparently there wasn’t a clear-cut winner, so VA Pel has announced that the ASF and the Sov effectively tied at the end of the competition!! This speaks well of the ASF since in the past the Sov has ALWAYS been the winner. Great job to VA Azazel Djo’Tarr on his tactical abilities, and for bringing the ASF through the entire IS3 with only marginal losses!! J
· There is an online petition to LucasArts for creation of a sequel to TIE Fighter. You all being loyal Imperial pilots, I am sure that is one of the long term goals of your life :)

Go sign it at: http://www.petitiononline.com/tf2pc/

XO's comment - I don't really think I need to tell everyone how important a new TIE game would be for the TIE Corps and the EH as a whole. Currently, we have a situation where our primary platform, TIE Fighter, is becoming very hard to acquire and even harder to run on modern systems. XvT had multiplayer, but not very good singleplayer and, from what I've been told, network code that isn't exactly that hot. XWA has the eyecandy, it runs on modern systems and OSes, but it has issues of modification and the Rebel setting. With some recent PC releases such as JK2 and SWGB, Lucasarts is finally loosening the bonds and allowing fans to create content. This could factor into a new TIE game, so go put your name on the petition.
· Congratulations go out to Major Falcon who has been selected as the new Wing Commander of Wing XX and also to Lieutenant Colonel Halcyon, the new Wing IV WC. Both have a long and proven history of command ability and should prove to be fine choices.
· End of Imperial Storm III – VA Pell: After doing a total recounting of all teams possessions, including points on hand, values of all items possesed (including probes) and counting each planet to be worth it's daily RP value, I find the following new values:

ATF has 16090 after recounting

Sov has 65338 after the recount

ASF has 40924 after a recount

Total is 122352

ATF has 13.1 %

Sov has 53.4 %

ASF has 33.4 %

Goal of the game was supposed to be 75 %. No team reached that. All teams finished with lower totals than they started. The Sov has the highest total points, but the ASF has the smallest loss of points from their start. This does not lead to a clear winner, as the rules did not anticipate someone not winning in the allotted time. I therefore will consider the ASF and the Sov team to both have marginal victories.

Due to the nature of this competition, I am not able to award medals to the winning team anyway. I would however like to commend all of you, and your teams for their excellent work. Of particular note I want to thank CM Ender mBind, for his work in this game, creating the Web Site, and helping with TIE mission creation. I wish to thank the Sov team, for their excellent meeting of deadlines, it made my job a lot easier. I want to thank the TFAs of all teams, for questioning me and the rules when necessary, and for giving me ideas for the future. But most importantly I want to thank the pilots who showed up, and everyone who participated and had a good time. Admirals, I ask that you take into account your pilots' activities in ImpStorm when reviewing their records for promotion or medals.

Thank you all for a good Game, I now take a weekend leave ( I will be away) and then I will begin work on a few new games, on a much smaller scale, to take place as soon as possible. There will be a basic game (very similar to ImpStorm) and a more advanced game (for those who have wargaming experience). Notice will be posted to apply for these games.
· XvT Competitions – VA Khadgar: have signed the EH up for a Competition starting this Friday. It will last one week, and is specifically oriented towards XvT players and TIE Interceptors. The competition will be held on The Zone against participating clubs. LoCs will be awarded, so please come out! For further details, please see http://www.battlestats.com/games/xvt/war/info/?war1332.

I would also like to note that the EH is signed up for XvT WoW, which will start on July 19 and go until July 26. I have been impressed with pilot participation in WoW events, and I'm sure this one will get a great response as well!
