Wing Banner Competition Scrubbed

Due to the extremely disappointing number of applications (one) this competition is cancelled... unless, unless I get a total of at least five different submissions (from at least two different people) before the week is out.

Come-on people, a majority of you wanted this comp, now get out there and make a banner!

Demon CMDR

Captain Hunter has been forced to retire from his position of CMDR of Demon Squadron due to RL. So the position is now open for applications.

If you do decide to apply for the position make sure that you have the required long time commitment. I don't want anyone applying that won't be able to stay for four months, as per FO's order quitting before that will strip you of any rank gained while being CMDR. So be sure you intend to stay that long.

However, due to the very low number of members in Demon I'm not sure that we can keep the squadron open, so don't be too surprised if it's closed instead of a new CMDR selected.

Oblivion Flight

During my time as Wing Commander I have observed that there's some missions that require more than any single squadron has to offer. Each squadron has its own speciality but sometimes there's need for many different specialities, yet calling in two or three squadrons to do the job would be too many. What is needed is a small group where the each member has a different speciality, whom together have all the needed expertise to carry out the mission.

Therefore I am forming a new elite flight, the flight will consist of the four most active pilots in the wing and will answer directly to me. The flight will be designate Oblivion Flight (since anything they face will get a one way ticket to oblivion).

The member will be chosen on a monthly basis or by challenge. Membership carry certain privileges, like a ID-line add-on, OP in #isd_immortal and some nice medals (ISM for one month, PC for two and BS for three). Once a wing page is up and running the history of those who been in the flight will be recorded there, each and every pilot that wins entry to the flight will go down as one of the best pilots ever to serve the Immortal.

This "competition" will be started in the begining of next month, exact rules will be coming out shortly.

Exercise Cantian Run

With a new BGCOM it's time for a new ECR. This time the focus will be on the history of the Battle Group.

So far three categories are confirmed, fiction, graphic and flying. Mission Creation is being considered but nothing is certain on that point yet.

So watch out for further news and make yourself ready to defend our flagship status once again!

Auroran News Network Submissions

Well, in case some of you haven't heard of it yet, the Auroran News Network is a fictional EH newspaper that's based on real newspaper style (an example would be www.holonetnews.com). ANN will be taking over the TC Battlecry, so anything you had to submit for it, send in for ANN. ANN is meant to have a mainly humorous aspect to it, but serious articles will be accepted. Please try to keep the articles fictional though - for example, an article about your wing competition would probably not be so interesting. However, if you made it seem like a real story like a real reporter, describing the grudges between wings, certain events, the outcome, but all in a fictionalized way, that'd be good. The main purpose of this is to be entertaining. You can find a list of the topics at http://www.ehnet.org/article.php?a=view&id=64. Please try to get in your articles ASAP, no later than about the 1st or 2nd week in September. I'll give a more firm date in later IO reports. Reminder about mission skipping

You are not authorized to skip any mission. Bug or not. All missions of the Compendium have been completed one day or another, you may have misunderstood the way to complete the mission. Fatal bugs are very rare, and if it happens to be that, just wait for it to be corrected and hold on your pilot file, do not submit it. DON'T SKIP ANY MISSION. The battle would be anyway removed later from your profile. Just a waste of time for everyone.
