CMDR’s, ensure this report reaches all of your pilots!!

Greetings everyone, it is time for another report from the Wing Commander! This week the report is being released early because I will be out of town until Sunday night. My wife and I are taking some items back home to friends and family so that we won’t have to take them when we move. No need taking things we really don’t want anymore. LOL

This next week I will be online at random as we pack and prepare for our move on 8/29/02. The plan at this time is for my computer and our Cable connection to both be back up and running by sometime late on 8/30/02. I’m looking forward to seeing what a 3 MB/sec Cable conn is like, so you can be sure that I’ll be back online just as soon as possible to give it a test. Hehehe However, there will still be the short period of getting unpacked and settled in, so you can expect that I won’t be spending too much time online or dealing with BSF’s and stuff for the first few days after my move. VA Brakka has courageously offered to handle any BSF’s from the CMDR’s while I’m away. Be nice to the COM, he’s not really used to handling BSF’s on a regular basis. :P

While I’m away I am allowing the COM to handle the Wing Commander duties. Once I’m back up and running fully at my new home I’ll decide on a new WCXO, but for the time being VA Brakka has said he will handle everything while I’m away. I trust my CMDR’s will remember how to fulfill their duties and won’t have too many reasons to bother the COM during that time. ;)

Recruit! We still need to keep active on recruiting new pilots to Wing XIV! We’re still sitting with 54 pilots, and we only need 6 more to reach #60! Keep offering the CT’s assistance and keep talking to the officers in the Reserves. For every 10 that say “no”, there will be at least one that will say “yes”!! J

It has been brought to my attention that the CA:TAC, affectionately known to all of us as “Mike”, has been recently promoted to the rank of Admiral! On behalf of Wing XIV I would like to congratulate AD Mike on his promotion. It is definitely well deserved, and Mike has been a great asset to Wing XIV in the past! Well-done AD Mike!! J

Congratulations to everyone in the ASF that was awarded the Commendation of Loyalty! I’ve personally received two of these since I joined the EH a little over 2 years ago, so I can understand what a great honor it is to receive the CoL! The following Wing XIV pilots were awarded the CoL for their loyalty and dedication to Wing XIV and the ISD Intrepid, well done pilots!

Recently some allegations of possible illegal recruiting or tactics have surfaced amongst my CMDR’s. I’ve been consulting with the COM about these matters, and as usual the COM and I see eye-to-eye on things. We have found no grounds or evidence of any illegal recruiting amongst any officers within Wing XIV. It is perfectly allowed for a CMDR to offer a FL position to a pilot in another Squadron. What is not allowed is inviting a pilot from another Squadron to join your particular Squadron as a FM. If a pilot decides to accept an offer for a FL position in another Squadron, I expect that pilots CMDR to congratulate the pilot and accept the transfer. If a pilot in one Squadron suddenly decides they wish to transfer to another Squadron, then they have that right. Under no circumstances will I allow any internal bickering or infighting over transfers, and I certainly will not allow such talk as I’ve personally witnessed recently on our egroup! We are Wing XIV, and we all know what is expected of us and how to behave. We are here to have fun; lets try to remember that in the future. I trust this is the last time I’ll have to bring up this subject again. OK? :P

CMDR’s, in the future you are to notify me immediately if any pilot hits a Career mark in FCHG or CR! It isn’t my job to keep track of every pilot in the Wing, I have each of you in these positions for that reason. So be sure you send me the notifications as soon as they hit these marks so that the COM and I can get the appropriate medal awarded! J
