Wing III Report # 10 (2001-12-26)

This report was submitted by LC Jahan Kalar

Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas and welcome to another Wing III report. This report is a little later than weekly because of my return home and the holidays. But neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet can keep the Wing III report away for long. This week saw the end of quite a few competitions, and it also saw Wing III drop to second in the Mascot Power Battles :( But I'm sure we'll claw our way back up in no time. And speaking of no time, it's now time for the report!

Orders
Continue to fly as many missions and battles as possible to increase our FCHG score in the FCHG competition that is ending soon.
Get ready for the next round of the Mascot Power Battles, the TIE round, which should be starting in January.
Also get ready for the competition designed by Arcanian Stirner, which should be starting in January also. These two competitions should give you people that are hungry for some flying happy.
Participate in the recruiting competition. Encourage people to join Wing III, and you can win valuable prizes for yourself and your squadron.
Participate in any and all competitions your squadron is runnning. It makes the TC a lot more fun, and you can get some cool stuff out of it to boot ;)
News
In a shocking development, Wing III has fallen slightly behind Wing II in the Mascot Power Battles. This comes as a result of low participating in the Mission Design Round. CM Arcanian Stirner, as the winner of the competition design competition, will have his ultimate round robin pilot battle idea implemented shortly. More details once I get it approved.
The banner design competition I was talking about in my last report has been postponed until I come up with the new design for the webpage. Since you need to see the webpage to design the banners, you can't very well do it now. I might even try my hand at banner design. I'll let you know more as the webpage becomes more developed.
Gimel Squadron has an honorary member who has brought with him a new idea for all the squadrons. RA Szydlowski (I think I spelled that right :) has become the CIT officer for Gimel (and Aleth and Daleth also). This means that he figures out which battles need to be flown by which pilots in order for that squadron to get more citations. This is a very good idea, and should encourage lots and lots of flying. Beth and Hey Squadrons, I encourage you to talk with your Commanders about doing a similar thing since I think it will help quite a bit, plus you will get a lot of citations.
After quite a bit of thought, I've decided to bring back CRTs into their full glory. I plan on having a squadron take one each month, but other than that they will be much the same as they are now. Starting in January, I will begin asking commanders to request CRTs and I will post CRRs for each squadron in my weekly reports. More on that in January.
Numbers

Other Stuff

If you liked Age of Empires II, I encourage you to get Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. It's pretty much exactly the same game with Star Wars units and races. I enjoy playing it quite a bit.
My "office" (so to speak) is always open. If you ever have a question or concern or anything, please feel free to e-mail me. I'm here to help.
A judge, while writing his memoirs recently, observed that "A great deal of my time is taken up by people who were persuaded to purchase goods they don't want, by people they don't know, with money they haven't got."
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and I wish you all a happy New Year. My next report will be in 2002, so in closing out this year I'd just like to say, I think this year was a good one for Wing III, and I bet the next one will be even better. See you all next year!
That's all for now...until next time, shoot straight and faster than they do.

LC Jahan Kalar, Wing III Wing Commander
